Hey, guys! I just got my hands on the GameGrid 2, so I decided to review it.
This is an honest review of Game Grid 2, and I want to clarify that I'm not being paid or affiliated for this video. It took me about two weeks to receive my GameGrid retro console, and so far, both my little one and I are loving it. While it's not perfect, it surpasses other retro consoles I've tried.

My gaming buddies and I are planning some epic retro gaming sessions with this console. Excited!
1) Would have been nice to hear the actual audio instead of the music.
2) The aspect ratio seems to be off on some of the games. You make a 90° turn in GTA2 and the car becomes twice as long! The system doesn't seem to take modern aspect ratios into account.
Really helpful and informative video. Like how the guy points you in the right direction for buying one of these instead of walking right into a scam or fake and getting ripped off.

Is this purple site really the right site to buy it off of? There was another site that was orange in color that was also selling it. I do not want to get scammed
@@dougdozier8782 Yes, the purple one - that's the original (gamegridofficial). The scam site (which is more orange, getgamegrid) even used my video on their site without my authorization. I filed a request to take it down, but they did not comply. It's ridiculous.

Atari 2600 was my second home video game system. The 1st was radioshacks electronic tv scoreboard
I wish I had researched and found this site first. Made the mistake of watching Flossy Carter 's review and it has the fake site posted!
I know right, you can clearly see the difference in the website quality by just comparing them side by side...

@@1978mackdaddy same has just happened to me. Rarely boots properly, controllers are very laggy and the to remote doesn’t work. Awful. Did you manage to sort it and get the proper one? Just sent them a message.

When you say the audio is bad, are we factoring in it coming from a basic TV speaker as well? And also, how bad is the controller lag? I bought a retro console years ago that turned out to be complete crap and decided was time to try again but there are WAY too many choices.

GTA 2 was my first GTA game, loved the series since except the handheld versions
Does anyone have a complete list of games? I’ve spent about 20 min online and still can’t come up with a list. 👎🏼. I def want to try it!

Yes, for sure! My little one is 5 years old, and he can't keep his hands off it. :D
N64-WWF no mercy, goldeneye and the Pokémon stadiums too see if they play and not mess up
Id prefer a console with quality games and sound over having tons of games
So basically the sounds are not original like in the original games?

@@TechGuyJohan yeah I think I got hit by one of the scam sites, I ordered mine when I was tipsy on tiktok one evening. That money is probably long gone in some scam artist pocket
@@TechGuyJohan I bought the “Arcadian pro” which I think is a knock off of this box. I get it today and it cost me $144. I didn’t know it was a knockoff when I bought it.

Just fyi the site get game grid thats ripping people off is using your review and passing it off as their product. It is not game grid 2. The box says game box on it. Im speaking from experience and just thought you should know. Cheers

Is there a way to configure the controller when you play n64 games? Tony Hawk the classic I am seeing is only available on N64, but many of the key functions do not work with the controller. Any ideas? Thanks!

how to you save your games. is this the same or better than one of those super console x? does it have a cheat feature?
Can we add missing games if we have the roms? I saw a few comments on Facebook game grid 2 ad posts saying that not all the super Mario games were included for example.
I've seen them say it can be done, but I haven't tried it myself because I found everything I needed:D

I dont have this exact version but i have something almost identical called a Super X console, bought it 3 or 4 years ago. Esdentially the same thing, an Android box. Since mines older im sure its on much older firmware. Anyways, my point is that I picked up 2 8BitDo controllers and I was able to connect them but I had to buy the Bluetooth adapters that plug into the USB ports. Maybe you wont need the adapters for this console, maybe itll hook straight up, but if i were a betting man I'd say youll be able to connect bluetooth controllers to it
Is the console in your video the fake or the official one?
This is the official one, unfortunately I bought from getgamegrid.com first but don't get scammed like I did, gamegridofficial.com is the real brand
@@TechGuyJohan Too late for me, I did the same thing. What were the major differences between the two? I got the fake one and it seems to work. Struggling with things like saves and adding additional controllers.

How is the gaming sound in the games? From a scale 1-10 ?? I also have a multi retro mini console, but a few games in that console has a really bad sound! 👎🏻
To be honest some games had a bit of buggy sound, but for me it was a minority, all the classic titles with the most iconic soundtracks worked just fine.
I’ve found the sound is decent. I’ve even played some old game boy games. Very nostalgic!
When I turn the console right back on after turning it off the controllers dont want to connect. I hit mode and it just blinks for a while but no connection. What am I doing wrong?

For me, it isn't an issue. The majority of games have no audio problems, and only a few have issues:)

Yea you can always upgrade, it has to have an usb dongle tho

How do you quit a game and get back to the game select menu???
Hold down select and start buttons simultaneously twice. Works some of the time, other times I just have to turn off the system.

@@TechGuyJohan wouldn’t mind another video on it. I’m curious to see if all of the Pokémon games work on the real console, as that is the main reason why I bought it for my young sons. Unfortunately I got it from the fake site. So if they work good on the real game grid I’d definitely love to get one.

Nope, it's the same size as a PlayStation controller. They made A mode of a PlayStation 2 dual shock controller, that's the actual size of a real one

Nah brother, unfortunately PS3 is not emulated on gamegrid, that would increase it's cost like 3 times

Anyone figure out how to save games?
I had to look for it online, this worked for me:
Y+select - opens quick menu where you can save, load games and do a bunch of other stuff
R1+select - quick saves the game
L1+select- quick loads the games
