And that og Rudeus is so strong that the alternate Rudeus will probably never be able to compare. He lost everything and lived his life for revenge, he created his own magic and time travel magic to sacrifice himself and change the past.
Sad part of time travel is that it's not you that are gonna change. It's the alternate you. I hate realizing that what he did is basically for nothing cause present him did not change. (I assume OG him did not change cause the vid said alternate)

That's why he time travelled to make sure that the past Rudeus doesn't have the same fate as him, that he doesn't make the same mistakes the Og Rudeus did.

@@nari7342that’s not how that works, Oldeus created another timeline with his past self aware of future events now. Oldeus’ ‘past’ still happened and his timeline is still intact, until it’s reset by Orsteds magic. Time is a weird thing in this story.

fun fact: rudeus could have survived if he had chosen to split his time travel into multiple trips, but he decided to do it all at once by committing suicide
His understanding of the concept was right but he didnt have the mana to transport "all" of himself leaving his internal organs behind. If he had used king class healing and could have at least died naturally at a later date. (But the diary explained that little complication)

Actually it is the original Rudeus, his daughter was destined to kill Hitogami, so Hitogami altered events to make sure it never happened. That Rudeus came back in time to put the timeline back in its original state.

Spots 1-4 are essentially untouchable by mortal standards. A regular person doesn't have the time or talent to get to that level.
Oldeus can likely take Randolph as its unlikely Randolph has the punching power to get through the armor.
But Oldeus is essentially guaranteed to lose to Aleksander as Alex's equipment is simply too good.
Depending on the starting range Rudeus can also beat Gal Farion and Gino Blitz, but only if they're at a distance.

Man this part of the novel is just extremely unnerving, some guy who you haven't fully trusted but by giving you good advice constantly, he gained your trust, then giving you a simple order to just check the basement of your house and if there wasn't anything then he has nothing to worry about. A few years later all your friends, lovers, children and family have died in horrible ways, you've killed countless people and you can't ever hope to avenge them because the way to reach the man who ruined your life only becomes available decades later when you would already be dead.
All that caused by something as small as that

If I remember this correctly, this old Rudeus is very strong. He created gravity magic that allows himself to fly. In his quest for revenge against Hitogami, he discovers that to reach Hitogami, he needs Orstead, however, Orstead is already gone back to past/different timeline (Orstead only has limited time to crack Hitogami in a timeline. If he did not change anything, he goes back). That's why he is forever locked away from killing Hitogami.
The guy spends his time, diving old relic and civilization, learn their language and magic. And in turn, Rudeus learn the Dragon Race's Time Magic.
And yeah, he's beyond broken at this point and suicidal. He entrusted everything to his former self for him to avoid the same fate as he is, while looking forward to see them (his love ones) on the other side.

The old Rudeus from the future's sacrifice would later be (although indirectly) the cause of hitogami's demise so we can say Rudy got his revenge on human God even if he's long gone.
spoiler: Lara Greyrat helped Orsted and Shinohara Akito reach the void dimension where Hitogami is, they finally permanently killed the evil God once and for all. Lara is also the "hero", destined partner of "Leo" the giant silver dog young rudeus once saved.

The closest answer we have is from the Demon Dragon God Laplace, who theorizes that Hitogami was born out of the Creation-God's Corpse in the void realm, whether someone stumbled upon it, or he just naturally appeared from his left-over power is unknown.
Hitogami himself might be the only one who really knows what he is, and this is the closest info we have right now from laplace.
What is sure though, is that hitogami has divine powers, and he usurped the Human God at some point, then continued to masquerade as him.
And not a small thing to consider: This Rudeus is the strongest human we know of in this universe. He is stronger than Gull or Jino, than North God Kalmann (I know he's not human BTW) and stronger than Randolph. He controlled gravity, had more mana than Laplace, had an armor similar to the Fighting God's and was as strong as big countries like Millis or Asura.
Rudeus, by receiving his happy ending, he couldn't achieve his full potential but I doubt he would change it haha

Eris would come again and again only for him to drive her away every time. She still sticks around and help him everytime he's in danger.
In a battle with a demon lord (iirc it's Atofe), Eris sacrifces her life to protect Rudeus, he deeply regrets that he didn't accept her after all this time.
In the current timeline before his death, the old Rudeus tells the young Rudeus to write a letter to Eris, to tell her he still loves her.

she is one of the few people who are not affected by Orstred's curse, yet will live long enough to be present when the demon god returns (who's death is needed to fight Hitogami).
she and a bunch of other of Rudy's descendants team up to ensure Orstred fights and defeats Hitogami. But she plays the biggest role due to her strength and that she was there from the beginning.
When they meet each other in some sort of astral plain,,Hitogami doesn't see the current Rudeus but the fat man... He only saw him in Rudeus form around the end where fatman accept and lived the life of the another world

Hitogami kill Roxy because of Her Daughter, Slyphy died because it was Hitogami plan to force Ariel to Overthrow Asura Throne. As what I remember Hitogami also don't want Ariel to become a King.
I never saw Mushoku Tensei as something that people should look down on *cough* Twitter. I feel it's one of the purest and well written isekais to ever exist. There is suffering throughout and the world building is just way up there for me.
the reason why those who didn't die left, was because they were disappointed in Rudeus, after the tragedies, he became an alcoholic and lost all his drive, i think there was an especially depressing scene where Eris try to make him get thing back together, but just scream at her, to stop and leave him alone, and then she just leave.
i don't remember how it was after he embarked in his revenge path but it would be interesting to see his interaction with those who remained at that point

Dude got so much into revenge he dedicated his whole life to studying magic, specifically time magic to fuck with time, warn his past self, then die.
I always loved stories like this it reminds me of the Infamous series with Cole traveling back in time to make himself powerful enough to face the beast.

For future reference, putting a spoiler warning is probably a good idea. I watch the anime only and was scrolling my recommend, when I saw the thumbnail. The thumbnail in and of itself has spoilers in it. I didn't even get a choice in the matter, and that's kind of messed up.
And, not all of them died or left due to hitogami’s direct influence, but because of the effect these events had on rudeus, as he pushed them all away. Specifically, after Roxy’s death, rudeus got depressed and went drinking for HOURS every day, and visited brothels too, frequently got into arguments with sylphy because of it, causing them to grow distant, and for her to leave with Ariel as she rushes back to the Asura kingdom for the final political showdown without telling rudeus, or any of the family, and getting executed in public. Rudeus arrived just in time to see her mutilated corpse crucified on a wooden pike, and, if I recall, he burnt the entire city to the ground. And, Eris died after rudeus got conceited in a fight against atofe, and didn’t fight seriously, only for him to get surprised by the leader of her royal guard (forgot his name), and forcing Eris to sacrifice herself to save him. Ghyslaine only told him she actually still loved him the entire time AFTER she died. She would also often beat his ass just cause.

In the current timeline yes. Rudeus decendants helped Orstred to kill Hitogami and Lara is one of them. Even the Old dying Rudeus saw everything and bit farewell with Hitogami.

1) Mushuko Tensei Timeline is Linear. Time Travel on the series is basically a system restore not jumping on a different timeline.
2) The magic cast on Orsted forcefully loops back time but allows Orsted to keep his memories. This magic is strong enough that even Hitogami is unaware of this. He finds out about this later when Rudeus dies near the end but It is useless info because Orsted doesn't need to reset since he succeeds this time.
3) Old Rudeus Planned to turn back time with the diary he was writing on as the target but instead of him travelling back to his younger body but with his memories, he noticed that his hands are still wrinkly and his stomach has nothing in it. He failed the time travel and lost majority of his organs, it might be a miscalculation or the cost for using such magic. Old Rudeus probably would have succeeded if the target for his time travel was his younger body that way only his memories would be transferred instead of his whole body. Present Rudeus would have been surprised in the sudden burst of memories of a future he hasn't experienced yet.
Mushoku tensei was created in the time when alternate timeline was not yet related to time travel or at least that was what i know and perceived from reading novels back in the 2000's(Hell all i know back then was time travel was basically change something in the past it also changes the future, i got it from that one american show Seven Days). Also with the loops Orsted had, multiple timelines with Hitogami winning would have been created, i doubt Orsted would be Satisfied with winning in just one he would probably travel to those other timelines where he lost just to kill Hitogami which is pointless since at that point there's infinite number of Mushoku tensei worlds and Orsted will never win completely.
Slime tensei also having been created at the same time (for the web novel) has the same linear timeline the hero Chloe went back in time as a spirit and merged with her younger self because in the future Rimuru died so to prevent that she travelled back in time but only as a spirit. Oh BTW Rimuru(Future) gave Chloe the mask which Chloe gave to Shizu which then went back to Rimuru(Curent) thats how fcked up time travel was back in the days.
Him reading the diary was devastating, its one of the most emotional parts in any fiction I've read or just consumed in general. Words can not describe the emotions i felt, the absolute horror. I will never forget how it made me feel and how glad I was to see Rudy succeed and get the happy ending he deserved. Honestly brilliant move by the author.
I remember when i read it i was really emotional and i was feeling sick after reading it and for the next 5 nights i was having nightmares of those chapters. It was really awfull it was an experience which i can never forget

This Original Rudeus (Oldeus)is the most advanced in terms of personal magical aptitude, yes, but if we compare overall power, the win has to go to main (our) Rudeus.
Because strength isn't just physical strength in Mushoku Tensei. Think about the ranking system. It's not something that updates automatically when someone's "strength" surpasses someone else. It updates when someone loses/wins a battle. Thus, Orsted cannot be rank 1, as he will never battle Technique God (current and probably permanent No.1) So the monuments of the world power ranks does not analyze the physical characteristics, but accomplishments.
The significance of this is Rudeus becoming a world power, despite his personal skill not going anywhere near the other world powers. He uses a suit to battle on par with world powers, built with the help of so many different people, from his friends, to Orsted, and technically, even Hitogami assisted making that. It's also a temporary buff when you take into account the absurd mana depletion of Mk2.
Strength will not be attributed to personal ability alone. An example to sum up what I want to explain is, Person A is super buff, could beat any single person in a battle. Person B is super Charismatic, Rich, and Intelligent. In a world where everything was war and fighting, Person A would be considered 'stronger'. However, in a society with people, economy and culture, Person B has more power. Person B could coordinate his influence to shift the course of history, while Person A is just buff. This is pretty much what happened with Rudeus becoming a world power.
He isn't personally anywhere the highly competent world powers, including the No7 that he defeated, but he has characteristics of a leader, comrade, tactician, that gives him access to people and resources that give him power rivaling world powers. So it is technically Rudeus' peronal merit, that makes use of the power that comes with a society being numbers (scale, firepower, persistence) variety (different ideas, cultures and thus perspectives), and influence over this society (monopoly of money, reputation, and by extension, relationships with other strong individuals).
Which is why while Oldeus is an impressive lad and coul solo Rudeus in a 1v1, taking into account the contexts of all their accomplishments, main timeline Rudeus wins by a landslide.

@@madasfacts1717 yeah its sick. But techichally main Rudeus can also use it, just not masterfully, but i think it was badass that he could accidentally use it. Showed how absurdly difficult it was to get the feel fot it and highlights Oldeus utter mastery of magic.

New Rudeus probably will never be as strong as Prime Rudeus who chose to become stronger even if it made the entire world his enemy, besides Sanoba and few others the allies he had were only conditional, Prime Rudeus mastered gravitational magic and others more and still New Rudeus could acomplish more.

Sylphy tired by Rudeus's continuous rejection and adultery, gave up and leave him. She then joined Anemoi and Luke in rebellion, failed and sentenced to death.
Zanoba and Aisha died, trying to protect Rudeus from Asura Royal Family's assault.
Rudeus never forgave Eris for her "betrayal". He always beaten Eris up everytime Eris "bothering" him.

She like Orstead or more like Subaru(re zero). Hero always died, so she use her secret power to repeat again, like thousands of time. After thousands loop her redo power got weaker. But at the last loop hero never appear and died earlier, means she will not saved and will die.
Her final attempt to redo everything with her last power create havoc in space and time causing the catastrophic in the past that sent Nanahoshi there. The price is she can never use the redo power again.
