Hello guys, this video is based on Critical path method (CPM) and this is a topic of the subject Operation Research (OR).
In this video first of all there is a discussion on deterministic activities and variable activities.
Critical path method(CPM) is used for solving the deterministic activities, whereas PERT is used to solve the variable activities.
The basic steps which are to be followed in Critical path method (CPM) is discussed in detail.
The Earliest start time, earliest finish time, latest start time, latest finish time, float (total float), critical activities, critical path, etc...are also discussed in this topic.
Finally, whole procedure of critical path method(CPM) is discussed. So check out the video and comment us if you have any doubts.

...Can you please explain why are we taking maximum value of earliest start time by comparing different activities? As we need to start as soon as possible,so that we can complete our project timely. And similar thing with LFT also....as why are we taking minimum value there??

This doubt was already explained in the video. We take the max value in EST because the next activity cannot start until and unless all the previous activities have been completed, which results in taking the max time duration. And we take min value in LFT because we want to complete the project as earliest as possible to avoid any delay.

Sir, why not any dummy activity is there in this question....as in order to complete activity 4 one needs to complete activity 2 and 3 and both cannot have same head and tail
Actually no need Shubham..
You are confusing with identity numbers and activities. Here, 2-4 is one activity and 3-4 is another
.. identity numbers are just representing events, start or end (head or tail) events.
Hope you got my point and understand the negligence of dummy activity here.

Yes, we can have dummy activities. But, it doesn't use any resources, just helps us to show dependency of activities.
Method remains same only.
