Great video, as always. I was thinking if you make a seat, you make it so when you lift the handle, and you put the seat back down, it could hold the handle up from closing down on you
@@lefotografion Performance is exciting. Range is boring. Why stop at 8p, let’s get you a massive 16p 10800 WH wheel. Let’s call it a sloth. Would you rather have a sloth or a Lynx
@@RogueTravel yea great argument you got there... Not. Range is fun, as you can race the street for more then 37km. And you can actually get somewhere where it's more beautiful to ride. And seated riding a thing you know...
This wheel looks awesome! I picked up a Sherman S from ewheels in April. It definitely had velcro installed on it and it came with pads. I have over 1700 miles on it now and I'm super glad I picked this wheel as my first. I can't wait to see your future videos with this. If it's got the same range or better than the Sherman S but faster and more power I'd be glad to have this version as my 2nd wheel. I've never done a ride like the 90 milers your pulling off Marty but I'd like to one day. Great video and thank you for sharing!
I accidentally put my Leaperkim Patton into sleep mode when I was on a recent ride. Fortunately, it didn't go to sleep until I was home. Would be nice if Leaperkim had a decent app that worked with iPhone. They have one, but it's limited. No Sherman L for me. Heavy and 90 mile rides 'R not us. But a Lynx would be nice :) A real 90 degree valve stem - nice. Wonder if those tubless tires can seat well at lower pressure.
Yea I don't understand LK in that regard. ShermanS can sustain 5000w for minute's, Lynx even 7000w for like 30s, probably longer. Peak on my Lynx was 20000w, 15000w I hit regularly
Sherman L is actually alot better $value than a Lynx, and many other wheels. when you consider battery watt hours divided by total price. This is also a very good indicator for $ spend to range. A very important considerstion in my opinion. Super interesting if you graph out all the wheels like this. Because when it comes to wheels what do I $ and how far can i go.
Nice unboxing. It looks like you got the stiffest spring available on the Sherman L at 70lbs. The three options are 62, 66 and 70lb springs. I assume they are progressive like the Lynx.
66 is already to hard for me at 80kg, I need 62. But the L weights 6kg more then the Lynx, and Marty is another 10kg heavyier so 70 might just be right. Btw, there is also a 58 I think
@lefotografion it's just a great tire, rolls nice, and has great grip as the name would have you think. It also just felt like the leaning/turning was nice and linear.
The wheels are just so expensive now. I think the pricing is going to deter new riders. When people ask me how much my Ex30 is they are oh I could buy an actual motorcycle for that price. Not realizing how much more fun a EUC is than riding a motorcycle. Their market is just going to be existing EUC riders upgrading. What is the point of having "compact" transportation if you can't lift it from the ground? The same way you just could get yourself a motorcycle... Much faster, better suspension, takes only couple of minutes to refill the tank, bigger wheels, better seat... The only reason for using EUC is the fact how lite it used to be, and how compact... Nowadays new EUCs no longer reasonable thing to buy for everyday usage. Just another gimmick toy for weekend rides, just like buggy 4x4... Had a ride with a guy who had Leaperkim Patton, it was nightmare taking it in to the train as it not only heavy to lift, but also wide, so it wouldn't feet between the seats and you have to find some spot to stick it in to... And the train was full... It is no longer practical compact vehicle. I had zero issues with my KS18xl in exact same train, and after we got of the train, we ride in average speed of 30kmph... Because it isn't New York here, we aren't that crazy to go over 50kmph at public parks and bicycle lanes. Plus Patton drain battery faster than old 18xl wheel, so I had about same milage as Patton with less battery capacity.
You've probably never ridden an EUC. The experience is unlike any other mode of transportation. If your objective is only to go from point A to point B, certainly don't buy an EUC
You can still get those flavors of wheels nowadays - I would recommend the InMotion v12 pro. Nice weight of about 60lbs - you can pick it up like a suitcase, and board a train with it, but the V12 still has good range, and nice pick-up-and-go for its size. I put over 5,000 miles on mine. I put an EUC bodyguard on it, and ride with no power pads. In this configuration, the v12 is easy to ride/use all urban situations, such as navigating slowly on crowded pedestrian sidewalks, breeze through bike lanes, and have have enough speed to keep up with cars from time-to-time. Also perfect to take in the grocery store, or other errands you may need to do if you have a good backpack.
You see, he's kinda Right, but also wrong. Have you tried bringing your motorcycle with you into holidays, when going via train or car? Do you like to lock your scooter outside the store/apartment/work where it can be stolen/ damaged? Especially in holidays at places like Barcelona, stuff gets stolen a lot. EUCs like my lynx are still small enough to go on bicycle lanes, or even pedestrian areas when you ride slow enough. Try riding your 200kg loud AF motorcycle there😂. Also it costs basically nothing in running cost's. And as Marty said, the fun factor is incomparable. What other device gives you 100km of range at street speeds, but still fits under your desk at work or next to your dining table.
