These are super helpful 👍👍quick question (I think) 🤔
Do you take into account the expansion of when people will be sitting? Or, how much allowance would you give? Or, does it just depend on what fabric you will using? Not sure if I’m asking this correctly or, if it matters 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is actually a great question! You are speaking more about the ease allowed in the garment. That would depend on the fabric and the design of the garment. This is a helpful measurement to take in some instances but I wouldn't consider it an "essential measurement" which is what I am focusing on in this video. I have never taken that measurement when doing this for clients. 💚

How do you self measure Arm length?? With cuffs?

There are a couple of different ways to measure arm length. All of them though, recommend to measure the arm while it has a bend in it toward the front. Some people measure from the middle of the back across to the shoulder round over the elbow and to the wrist. Some people will take the measurement from the base of the neck to the shoulder point, then around the elbow to the wrist. Another good measurement is to take the under arm measurement from the armpit to the wrist. Cuffs should go to the wrist and are taken off of the length of a standard sleeve. You may choose to add more length to the sleeve above the cuff depending on your design. Hope this helps! 💚

I just realized you asked about doing this on yourself. Some tapes have a hole at the end. It is helpful to put a string or loop through that to hold the tape taught in you hand and the neck base way might be the easier method for self measuring. 💚
