@@TheCheekPunisher Exactly! Resident Evil 2 was one of the first video games I ever played. dumb how we cant place an item in another items slot to swap it out. simply tells us inventory is too full for new gun. then makes it some odd menu of pressing shift in order to do what left click should, and pressing F to save because ESC simply resets our progress. the worst of all is when I got stuck and thought the game had a glitch because you can't exit an examine the keys later to find a screw driver. and nothing indicates this. Simply stuck on the examine object menu which I never pressed a key to pull up.

For me, re7 nailed atmosphere and horror a little better than village. I was never truly scared except one section of the game and I think everyone knows what section I’m talking about. I was a little disappointed that the horror less effective than re7 but overall was still a solid game
Yea it felt more action oriented, but like Jake said, I think the best horror parts of the game come from the creepier bits (SPOILER) like the happy birthday room in 7 and Donnas Dollhouse in this one. But I felt like this game had a good mix of puzzle solving, horror and action but it leant a bit too much towards the latter especially in the final acts.
Fully agree with you. RE7 was a masterpiece and perfectly nailed the very essence of a survival horror game. This RE8 is more of an action adventure in an horror setting
Game is absolutely perfect. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Also normal difficulty is super easy compared to previous games. New game plus will be a hardcore run for sure.
Yay! Easiness! I'm terrible at Resident Evil games and tend to duck out before I finish them, but an EASY Resident Evil might be just what the doctor ordered for keeping me interested past the first couple hours.
@@WhiteDove73-888 Re 6 was incredibly fun. I remember playing with my family friend for hours on end. My favorite so far, playing RE 6, 2, 7. About to get 8
I went into Hardcore mode straight away. I had a lot of fun. The first bit after the first Lycan, where you had to survive them for a while, that was the toughest bit of the entire game. After that, I always had tons of ammo. Just not enough healing items, but I was okay at blocking anyway. The most trouble I had after the Lycan bit was the first El Gigante dude and Moreau, but even then, they weren't that bad. At one point I had 5 stacks of Handgun ammo and just started wasting bullets on the Lycans for fun, and I somehow didn't end up regretting it later. It wasn't really that hard. Village of Shadows seems almost impossible though.
ryzombie Why do you call it "Village of Shadows" when the game is called "Resident Evil Village"? And one moment you say the game is easy to beat and the next you say it's "seems almost impossible"?
@@redblade8160 Village of Shadows is a difficulty mode, similar to Madhouse mode from Resident Evil 7. So I was saying the hardest difficulty mode seems almost impossible, while the 2nd hardest mode, Hardcore, is difficult to start out, but gets easier.

@@Strike1stCobraKaiTV the baby doesn’t scare me as much as it unsettles me, only thing I can think of that made me feel the same way is the recording from event horizon
I'm about 8 hours into the game at this point. Will do the last haul tonight when it gets dark. Without spoiling anything, i've just started on the 4th Lord's area. No names cuz i think the order should be a supprise. I'm really loving the game tho. Like, it does in many ways feel like a modern Resident Evil 4. But it also feels like a propper RE7 follow up. Wich again means a modern take on classic RE. But there's something new in there as well. Anyone who is some hours in will probably know what i'n talking about. That part was seriously great. The game somehow manages to allways feel fresh as thus far nothing outstays it's welcome. Combat is satisfying and fun. The puzzles aren't the hardest so there's room to improve for 9. But exploration is great. And honestly, i think it's overall a game that lives up to the name. I did compate it slightly to RE4. But controversial opinion here... I think it's better on those areas. Yeah, i said it. The enemies are far better in my opinion. And overall game design is just better. But that comes with the time. Is the game easyer then RE7? Yeah... For sure. But honestly, RE7 wasn't really ever a hard game. Aside from one part on Normal the game was ver dooable. RE8 is slightly easyer. But it also feels far more consistant. As where one slight mistake in RE7 could make some parts a nightmare. RE8 is far more forgiving. And if you are a somewhat good player, RE8 will be just challanging enough for most players i think. For RE purists it will obviously be a bit easy i guess as i've heard some sugest just going into hard mode from the start. But i've also been watching some gameplay from others to the points i've reached. And i'm supprised how many stuggled with the game in areas i found easy. Some of them genuine RE Purists. And me more of a casual RE fan is having a far easyer time. Don't know what that's all about. And i'm also moving trough this game pretty fast without missing much. I have almost every area at Blue... So yeah, i'm not skipping much. Humble brag i guess. But RE8 is so far a masterpice in my eyes. There are a few minor bugs here and there that did annoy me in the moment. But nothing that has ruined the experience for me. The Boss fights are alot of fun. Also the more... Mini boss type events. Alot of fun. I've actually found some of them to be harder than some of the bosses. But boss fights tend to come when you expect them. While the mini bossses in some cases come out of the blue when you least expect it. And some of them deal a fuckton of damage. And take a billion shots to take down. But again, the game is forgiving. So even when it feels like you are screwed because you just wasted all your ammo for some treasure... You still get enough to get by without too much of a problem. No doubt loving the game tho. No big gripes. I probably will do a second playtrough. Maybe even a third... Depending on the last few hours. And what rewards i get, i might do a hard mode playtrough. Hell, might even try and platinum this game. Loving it that much. I just hope that RE9 is far enough into development so it's not too many years away. We allready know the game has been in development for some time. And it's supposed to be the final chapter in the trilogy started with RE7 according to rumors. So we'll see. Only sad thing is, there is nothing big on the close Horizon just yet after this game. This was THE game for me this year. And alltough i'm hyped for Horizon 2 and FARCRY 6... They're so far off i feel that my life will be a bit empty. Might replay some older RE games tho after this. Again, Amazing game!
The whole first boss fight is almost literally insane followed by totally insane... The weird twist to twisted is just effed up... That was a really awesome b-day gift for my morbid psyche to absorb

Last acting role of Jeanette Maus who sadly passed away after an eight-month battle with colon cancer, a few months before the release of the game The Dimitrescu name was chosen because it is similar to Dracula, which comes from the Romanian word "dracul", meaning "dragon". Lady Dimitrescu's final form purposely resembles a dragon. If the players never or rarely visit the Duke's store during their playthrough, he will make angry comments about it when they pass by him. Fantastic review! I agree with the fact it’s taste with this game. I’m a super horror fiction nerd, so I was super down with this entry because of its heavy gothic influence, but I totally get why people would be turned off. I’ve platinumed all the resi’s and I agree with you here. It’s not the best, starts out strong and than rushes some really great ideas. The controls don’t cater to some bosses and the action focus towards the end, but it does make it more compelling as a survival game. Played every mainline game (0-8 aswell as the three REmakes along with Rev1, Rev2 and Code Veronica ) and can confidently say that this is 5th or maybe 6th best game in the RE series. The RE series have some of the best and most enjoyable gameplay ever, with high levels of replayability. However, I wish they would just expand on the story of these games. They have such simple and cheesy narratives that I feel like they are wasted opportunities for good storytelling, especially since they've already established a pretty good lore. If only the audience can emotionally connect with these games with a deeper, more meaningful story, the RE series can become so much more.
I definitely agree. They've pretty much all followed the same blueprint. But I'm not sure how exactly they could expand the story beyond what they've done.
I thought it was. Part of a long standing series, fan favorite characters just randomly showing up is a nostalgic moment. This is the 8th main game in the series. I can not remember all the game Chris shows up, but he is a fighter in the Marvel/Capcom cross-over. It matters, regardless of what he is actually doing there; main character or no.

@@leonpaelinck I somewhat agree, however I still think it's a better game than 7. Which personally thought was way overhyped mainly due to people trying VR for the first time with it. It works with the survival horror gameplay it seems to harken back to instead of pure action.
Before even finishing the game I'll definitely say in the beginning on standard difficulty the ammo is slightly more generous. Up to the point where I'm engaging enemies fully strapped. Still having a gud time though despite the difficulty I picked.
Yeah if I did get this I would do the same. I'm not great with horror games so having to worry about ammo wouldn't do me good. I managed to complete resident evil 7 and that's it. Not having ammo or a weapons is something I cant do one of the reasons why I didn't finish outlast.

dumb how we cant place an item in another items slot to swap it out. simply tells us inventory is too full for new gun. then makes it some odd menu of pressing shift in order to do what left click should, and pressing F to save because ESC simply resets our progress.

The most trouble I had after the Lycan bit was the first El Gigante dude and Moreau, but even then, they weren't that bad. @@Strike1stCobraKaiTV personally this gets nowhere near evil within 1 in term of scary shit.

The RE series have some of the best and most enjoyable gameplay ever, with high levels of replayability. However, I wish they would just expand on the story of these games. They have such simple and cheesy narratives that I feel like they are wasted opportunities for good storytelling, especially since they've already established a pretty good lore. (I'm not being sarcastic, Chris being there isn't the spoiler).
@@kainable8769 yo he was literally at the end of 7 and in the trailer for 8
I have never EVER had 89 bullets for my hand gun in ANY RE GAME!!!! Im loving it!!!
Absolutely amazing game. It is literally everything you'd want from a Resident evil game.
The immense storyline depth and detail and how it mixes hints from RE1 and RE4.
Everybody buy this game!
Love.
But is their a suplex move you can do on the enemy? Asking for a friend
You have to clinch first
You can melee a boulder!
@@jamesandrewchan2791 is that a spoiler, can we play as chris ??
@@shriyanshpandey112 no you cant, he is referencing 5
I just found this video on a playlist for The Trixie and Katya podcast, The Bald and the Beautiful. Lol. Not sure if my UA-cam is drunk or something. But, that’s Wild.
I wish Ethan could be able to pick up the enemy's weapons they just look cooler.
I'm here because Trixie Mattel has accidentally added this twice to her Bald and the Beautiful playlist lol
LMAAOO ME TOO. I was so confused.
@@dio_hoestar_4204 SAME
There is plenty of fan service and little nods to the rest of the series honestly this is gonna go in my top 3 favorite RE games of all time.
"I am gonna murder that Boulder punching asshole".
- Heisenberg 2021.
Best line ever.
I grinned like an idiot when I heard that line, I love how they've tried to make the series somewhat more realistic in aesthetic and presentation but blend it with the camp and just sheer lunacy of old RE.
hard to beat dogs jumping through windows lol
I’ve been hooked on this game, better than 7 in my opinion
So im not playing video games anymore.. but it still in me .. last video game i played is the last of us part 2.. next week im taking vacation.. im thinking of playing a video game.. i watched this review and i feel this is the game i should play.. from the people who played the game any advise.. i want the game to be stacked with action like last of us.. i don't want an adventure game where you walking around and discovering things.. any advise.. and what about RE7.. from watching some reviews it looks more like adventure game not action game.. please any suggestions i want decent vacation
Yo this was my first resident evil game ever played and it was simply a masterpiece
Play re7. Won’t regret.
Playing now, just found out shooting crows can give you some goodies. This is An extremely satisfying mix of RE4 and 7. Thanks for the video! keep up the great work!
I'm having a blast with village, its exactly what I expected. The only issue I've dealt with is that standard difficulty is a joke, if your looking for the "normal" difficulty play on hardcore
I rather it be easy Cz it’s easier 😂
before i watch ima day that residents evil village is insane and it’s a worth. this is a residents evil but the whole map is accessible like open world. lots of hidden bosses n new type of zombies
They aren’t zombies they are vampires dios mio you are dumb of course you are you can’t even spell stuff correctly ese.
I think after all the memes, Lady D just isn't going to have the same effect. I saw her in this video and was all excited, "Hey! It's the tall vampire lady! ^_^", and then she started attacking you and I though, "Oh yeah, she's a villain."
I think she's a tyrant like Mr x or Nemesis or something, I haven't played the game and don't know any spoiler's btw.
I am about 2 hours in and I'm really enjoying it so far, more so than RE7 surprisingly.
I beat it yesterday but same. I didn’t think it would be better than 7, but honestly I think it is. At least imo
ofc its better than 7 smh here u explore in 7 ure just in a house
"light inspirations from re4" my guy, this bleeds Resident evil 4 to it's very core. It's going to be a asset flip for re4 remake forsure.
It doesn't have the awesome combat
@@leonpaelinck I somewhat agree, however I still think it's a better game than 7. Which personally thought was way overhyped mainly due to people trying VR for the first time with it. It works with the survival horror gameplay it seems to harken back to instead of pure action.
@@leonpaelinck It shouldn't. Resident Evil 4 was far too actiony.
@@rejd24 this game is pretty ammo friendly which i like for people who might be trying out the RE series for the first time. However be warned not all RE games are ammo friendly so if you decide to play the older ones prepare to count your bullets.
Yeah if its about half way through the game when you might notice a dip in ammo but by that time you should have so much crafting supplies it wont even matter anyway lol
I'm liking it a lot, I hated 7 so I'm really happy personally idc that the vampire lady wasn't in it too much cause honestly I just don't get it, but seriously the "baby" part had serious P.T vibes in the best way an I can't be the only one who felt bad for the fish dude
Why did you hate 7 but like this one?
RE7 was literally trying to be PT
@@haywoodjblome4768 I liked 7 a lot but now I’ve played 8 it’s a bit of a scripted haunted house in comparison
i absolutely loved it cant wait to see what they do with 9, also Screw the puppet level good god

@@qassim14 RE7 is a horror action game. I consider RE8 more action but still has many horror elements. RE8 surpasses RE7 in many ways and RE7 does as well.
@@qassim14 Then I suggest finding another game. If you want something that's satisfying, not too over the top, but still good ol' fashioned fun, Zombie Army 4 is a good one.
Sounds like the game is good, it is nostalgic but if this was the first in the series it would be okay/fun
so you consume and enjoy based on the branding?
@@bruno9182 no
@@MrBebop0 you said that if it was the first in the series, it wouldn’t be that great.
@@bruno9182 yes meaning that it's a decent game & I think if it was a new IP it wouldn't have taken off as much as it did. I didn't mention trends?
@@MrBebop0 it’s just mind blowing how a mediocre game with 9 hours of gameplay is getting all those “great” reviews.
in 7, i had a good ammon management that at the end of the game I had ton of ammo, didnt even get to use my full upgraded magnum, thinking there was going to be an enemy thatll be tough as nails, but the toughest boss in that game was the wife, she wasnt that bad but had very high HP, cant wait to start on this. R4 was my favorite RE game, cuz i luv the puzzles, the upgrades, the bosses and minibosses, thats good to kno that the village is like that, gonna up the difficulty
Resident evil village seems cool but I would like a silent hill instead of it
Facts!!! That tried to do a evil within which is a fake version of silent hill
@@IagoDuarte41 I think the last silent hill game was silent hill 4 the room right? Was like 2005 i think?
@@canontheory Last one was Downpour in 2012 which sucked. Last good SH was Origins.
Good luck with Konami. I'd still like a Suikoden collection but it's like pulling teeth with them.
The graphics are insane
All I know is Lady Dimitrescu and her vampire ladies can have me. I will find a way to play it in VR. Even if i have to code it in myself.
This is the best looking game I’ve ever seen. I can assume it’ll only get better when devs start to utilize ALL of the PS5/Series X’s horsepower
This one did. Took a lot of vram to run this game at near max settings
I thought the game was FANTASTIC. The environments, the atmosphere, and the aesthetics were just absolutely gorgeous, and flawless. I can't wait to be able to start my next playthrough!
I've not finished it yet but 100% love the setting and atmosphere.
RE7 was the first RE I ever played and loved it. I also played it WELL after release. When I bought it on steam there was a slightly more expensive option that included preorder for RE8. At the time I wasn’t sure if I’d even like RE7 so I opted for the cheaper one... then bought the season pass and played all the DLC. Now I’ve gotta wait till payday to buy the deluxe edition for RE8😂
