Separated the green one and removed the gray at the same time, don't know exactly which one fixed it, but the point is it's working!! Thank you so much man! :)
I just did this because your 1st video didnt work for me. So, when i gave it some space (the 2 green peices on the side you created a gap with the flathead. ) it made my controller 10xs worse. So i went and did the opposite and pushed the green peices tighter. I pushed them flush as hard as i could with out causing damage. That did it no more drift. It may be the act of creating the gap like you did and then forcing them back together that made the drift stop. Regardless it worked and your video helped thank you. Because i was being charged too much to fix it. And i already brought a new controller. I still wanted it fixed. So yea it worked..
Was having the drifting problem, gapping the green part solved it, thanks! Two tips: (1) kept the controller as disassembled as possible so I can test it; (2) the recalibration function in Xbox helped me pinpoint which stick was drifting.
Thank you so much!! In my case what worked was creating a bit of space on the green pieces. I had no hope but I was so happy this fixed almost wasted money on another controller
Hello, thank you very much. Solution 1 fixed my Right Stick drift (upwards). I had to separate this green part, like you suggested. Thank you very much my dude, your tutorial was very good.
You're the best dude I've been dealing with this for 3 days driving me crazy my right stick going upwards. Prying the green pieces off a little helped tremendously. It still has a little drift every now and then but my god it's night and day. Earned a sub for life 🙏
Making space between green pieces did it for me as well, thank you very much! I was thinking of buying a new controller, but this video saved it. At least for now.
I recommend removing the gray plastic thing, it worked for me. Now, a few things; Beware of pushing too much the LS button and then moving around the stick, because that gray thing prevented the friction of the white parts of the stick, so you can end up breaking it. Just be gentle with the stick. Second; I don't recommend doing the green plastic thing because that's where the potentiometer goes and if a little dust or something goes in there, it could scratch the potentiometer.
Removing the grey plastic did the trick on mine, thanks a lot!! ❤ it's a series x controller dark color (1 year bought and regular user, my left stick was stucking on up and down direction on neutral).
I did part 1 and it didn't work. I did part 2 and now the controller doesn't work at all. The visuals now just spin around in a circle facing the sky. Now I definitely have to buy a new controller.
I tried methods from your 1st video and my problem got worse. But your method from this 2nd video works. And my controller is not even official xbox controller 😅 Thanks alot dude 👍
The problem is the x and y sensors get worn out. These are good temporary solutions, but you'll either have to buy new sensors and solder them in to truly fix the problem. or buy a new controller. I just buy a new controller when mine start drifting. Microsoft is fully aware of the issue, but they aren't going to fix it. They rather you spend 50 dollars on a new controller every year, then to make a controller that will last years.
The problem with mine is that when I push the stick forward it doesn't recognize that it's being pushed forward. Sometimes it recognizes it or sometimes it thinks I'm only pushing it halfway forward when I'm pushing it all the way. If I push the joystick in any other direction and then circle it around to point up it always works fine. Maybe there's some gunk in the front part of that little square joystick assembly that's jammed between the stick and the sensor that detects it's being pushed forward.
I have Xbox controller and it's drift im so mad it's just 10 months I use it to play just 8 games so I just buy 2 controller flydigi direwolf 2 and Vader 3 pro (Hall effect never drift as their advertisement) with my plan that I will switch using my new 2 controller game by game so i wont have to buy new one at least 10 yrs lol and I throw my Xbox to the box then I found this video on youtube feed then I pick it up follow your video and OMG it's not drift now ! so I have 3 controller that can play now until GTA 10 released to PC lol

Or just stop playing Call of Duty or Fortnite, that's the main reason you have drift on your controller.
Gapping the green part worked!!

Yeah after a day it had stick drift again. Is there a way to replace this crappy controller? With magnetic actuators?
Is it the same thing for the right joystick ?
yes
I tried methods from your 1st video and my problem got worse. But your method from this 2nd video works. And my controller is not even official xbox controller 😅 Thanks alot dude 👍

Mine was drifting already when I bought it. How can brand new controller have "worn out" sensors?!
this worked incredibly well, thank you.

This is my issue, too. It's a real bummer since it was a Design Lab controller.
