To answer why Wade survived Ember's blowup, while Fern got torched... it's all about exposure time. Water is super efficient at resisting and mitigating heat.
Plus I like to add that although it’s true that Wade did evaporate because he was in close proximity to Ember in the end of the movie. My guess is that because when Wade evaporated: both the hearth was blocked off cause Ember closed the entrance (so she wouldn’t get snuffed out like Wade said) and the top of the hearth was blocked off cause of the rebel which I assume cause not a lot of air so Wade wouldn’t escape if he needed to where as at Fern’s place there is a ton of open space (more than the hearth) so that wouldn’t cause a problem for him
@phlpcockrell that's correct, which interestingly, we actually saw in the museum. I love how they worked in the real-world physics, even if they didn't always stick to it for plot purposes, it was still very clever.

Also Earthquakes and heavy Wind/Lightning storms too. Also there was a flood in the movie. But yes it was mainly focused on Fire. Probably because it's immediately dangerous. While Earth, Air, and Water can stand near each other and not be bothered
I think it's because that while water, earth, and air, can be dangerous, Fire *as a whole* is more dangerous than the 3 of them, 4 of them can be dangerous, but not equally dangerous, let just see in real life, how common do you encounter air, water, and earth (rocks) really common, how common does it hurt you? uncommon, except certain cases like natural disaster or something, but fire is obviously more dangerous. that is why fire hazard is a thing. and lot of people say "be careful around fire" but not "be careful around water, earth, and air" because it sound ridiculous.

It was definitely a reach of the metaphor to use elements that can harm each other, but you can also read into the fact that each element can be dangerous on their own; water can extinguish fire and cause floods, air can blow away all the other elements, earth could absorb water or bury fire, etc. Just as a matter of perspective. The movie also tried to focus on how element city is hostile when not designed with certain elements in mind, which is why fire is way more dangerous and in danger than it needs to be in the city; it wasn’t utilized very well though in the world building though (i.e, the useless fences being only a joke, paper still being used when 2 elements shouldn’t be able to even touch it, water just spilling everywhere uninhibited)
The thing is though fire is naturally dangerous on its own in any amount. A tiny flame or even touching something recently heated by fire can burn you, and, in terms of this world, even a tiny flame on a tree could potentially kill them. Water can only cause floods in mass quantities, and it can only really 'kill' a fire person, again, in large enough quantities and likely intentionally (still dangerous but not as dangerous and only hurts fire). You know movies are good when even CinemaSins has to give them a few wins.
Fr tho

I was genuinely shocked seeing how well it did, considering the opening. Crazy how it went from only slightly better than lightyear to surpassing Encanto. Hopefully this will get Disney to stop underestimating animation.
Nah. In Disney's eyes, this merely managing to break even means little to them. They just look at it as not gaining anything from it, but perhaps enough to keep in mind for the future.
Nope
Surpassing ENCANTO? HAHAHAHA no
Is still watch Elemental more than Encanto, mostly because I get confused by everything in Encanto, but not enough from Elemental.
Since I didn't like Encanto because I think the entire family was terrible except Bruno and the young kid, wasn't hard.
Ember running the shop by herself during the Red Dot sale was exactly like a Bar Rescue stress test!
3:44 That Grandma death scene made me think she must've seen other mix-element couples before
I'd say most likely.
She was young once hmmkay? 👀
Man, this movie went all over the place
Even Embers temper was forgotten about in the final act of the movie
She stopped with her temper because Wade being such a good guy helped her calm down. We see this in the montage during the movie.
No it wasn't. She was angry because she thought she wanted to run the shop, but really didn't.
@@toshtao1 And we see in the montage that Wade being a good guy was calming her down.
That’s called…. Character development. Wade helps her understand that she’s not trapped in the world she thinks she is.
@@casted_shadows The point was ember learned to control her temper by thinking of happy thoughts.
Aren't clouds . . . made of water?
Yep
Customs Officer: "Let's go with 'Burnie' and 'Cindy.'"
Ember's dad: "Don't 'Burnie' me! This little root is guilty!"
I'm not sure how anyone would spell words in "Firish." Is it just... fwoosh fwosh fwooosh?
When the trailers used that “hot and cold” song, I rolled my eyes so hard I hurt myself, I’m not joking
I sure like this movie. I like how all of the characters can get over their differences and can be free to embrace who they are.
If they all embrace they all die literally
I like the movie too!! :)
I really want Elio to have a villain. I know Inside Out 2 is the studio’s next film, but I don’t think that one needs a villain.
The first one didn’t have a villain so the second one will probably be the same
@@bengilhooly3616 Technically Joy was the villain.
@@Some_Guy6 No, she was the protagonist that wen't through character development.
Don't worrry, Wish has a villain and I think it is already out!!
I really want Pixar to start making good movies again.
14:55 “It’s not so crazy. This is the exact same move my college girlfriend made to prove we were in love too. Although her’s was less scientific and more presentational.” IM DEAD BRUH 💀
That’s crazy💀
One thing I noticed is Ember casts a shadow, even though she's a constant source of light.
well it depends on if the light surrond is weaker than the light bulb light i learned this from youtube
@@NoahRoss-yn2hw It's most likely an animation effect more than anything. Ember's body is probably a 3D object and her fire is FX, so the shadow is cast by her 3D model, not her FX.
19:31 that became a meme ever since this movie was first teased.
3:11 "delicious, finally some GOOD F**ING FOOD"
This movie was so good, glad word of mouth allowed it to be profitable. Pixar needed this to get out of Disney plus tarnishing the brand. I’m sure inside out 2 will be a huge hit for them.
Hopefully, Inside Out 2 is a “regular” feature-length film and doesn’t force anything
12:31 ok FINE. This movie is flaming beautiful. 😒
Flaming
“How do you apply eyeshadow to a cloud?!!!” 😂😂
15:55
I'm fukkin done 🤣🤣🤣
15:24 Wade would be excellent at CinemaSins _DING_
18:47 Bernie: Why am I watching my daughter kissing a water guy?
3:53 Did Jeremy just casually use the term "rizz"? You are hereby banned from any and all elder millenial gatherings from this point in the video forward.
Elder millennial…I’m late gen z and *I* feel old
13:37 Also, stars aren't even made out of fire, despite what _Encanto_ taught today's kids (and which _The Lion King_ taught us as kids) - they're made out of hydrogen, being turned into helium through nuclear fusion. So in other words, they're closer to being water than they are fire.
"A star is a luminous spheroid of plasma held together by self-gravity." - NASA
@@theantagonist801NASA used a term like "self-gravity?"
@@nthgthI think it’s referring to the fact that the plasma orbits itself to create a ball…but that’s literally what gravity is so I don’t understand either
3:34 Ngl I absolutely die laughing every time I see this.
Just, POOF!
If you heard me laugh at that point, you would be confused of the fact of gate squeak noises
Elemental was surprisingly amazing! Beautiful animation, great story, great execution, it's got so much heart, and Ember is absolutely adorable!
Ember, The woman with uncontrolled anger issues that nearly destroyed multiple businesses and lives?
Adorable.
@@DH-xw6jp at what part did her anger almost destroy many businesses?
@@jellybegger her anger torched her dad's shop and the office. You know, the angry outburst that started the movie's conflict?
And she torched multiple tree people (seeing the state of their log pillows, they certainly have the ability to kill wood).
@@DH-xw6jp well the shop would’ve been fine if it wasnt for the leak and the “multiple” people she torched it was only 1 cause of her anger the other was just cause shes fire and she barely touched that person on the train
@@jellybegger 2 is still "multiple" and my comment said she had anger issues _and_ did those things, not that all the things she did was caused by said anger issues.
So...
I remember watching this movie with my husband in 4DX. It was such an immersive experience but the story made it that much better 🧡💙
I’m jealous. By the time I got around to seeing this in theater (twice btw!) they weren’t showing it in 3D anymore. I can only imagine how amazing the colors would pop.
@@TheBlackBantha it wasn’t only having everything pop, but the chairs moving to the scenes, the scents, water spraying. It was wonderful. I’m sorry you didn’t get the chance to experience it in 3D
@13:58. "Are they ganna f*=K now?!" Is WILD🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
11:15 I too had an experience like that once when i was 20, our backyard neighbor's tool shed caught on fire and it was RIGHT BEHIND OUR FENCE next to OUR tool shed and it was god damn horrifying. Even as my father was using our backyard hose to keep the bricks and our shed wet and even attempting to put it out while we waited for the fire crew to get there. I never want to see that again
9:51 I'm pretty sure it's just Ember, not the hat.
As soon as I saw the “kids” scene, I immediately thought “kids” in my head. 😂
Aye same, I've been looking for the one where he says, "the sin is always kids" I think that sound bite is so funny 😂
Hahahaha! Scorchin' tellers! That's a good one, Jeremy.
18:07 somehow the fire person is able to cry
Crying lava
DING
2:57 Easy way to get around this, however! Buy one, get one, return the bought one, and repeat the cycle until there is only one left! Sure, it'll take forever, but free is free!
I can’t believe you didn’t point out that Ember’s underwater bubble wouldn’t get smaller, she’s still expelling gasses as she burns O2.
This movie is basically just "Avatar: The Last Airbender" mixed with "Zootopia" with none of the clever writing and subtlety of the former and double the muddy misguided racial metaphor of the latter. 🙄
13:10 Do guns even exist in this universe? 🤨
5:46
THANK YOU!!!!!
Glad to see this channel is still going on for so long! Love this channel :)
Agreed! Gonna be crazy cause in 20 days, it’s gonna be the 11-year anniversary of this channel being created
@@ALF_Films 11 years!! That’s actually so crazy! Happy belated for this channel :D
13:57 Excuse me!?
Missed one of my favourites: water family tells native English speaker fire girl that her pronunciation is surprisingly clear
I got way too emotional at the end scene with the bow.
7:00 I mean... we're made of carbon, hydrogen and a bunch of other elements, but that doesn't stop those elements occurring in nature.
Watched this movie with my mom and was not expecting the massive racial inequality displayed throughout.
Zootopia?
typical disney
maybe consider watching a trailer before watcing movies if you're this sensitive. was clear as fuck in all of them lol
@@WhoCares-i3oDon’t say Lol
How did you come 6 hours ago when the the vid came out 4min ago?
I lost it at "FKING CLOUD PEOPLE!"
Those damn Cloud People are always ganging up with the Water People to rain on my parades >:#
0:59 - THIS! All the this!
15:34 for f sake, i laughed for 5 minutes straight
Honestly im pissed that everyone in fire town seems to know each other yet not a single one of them know about Ember's anger issues or they're just ashholes
1:56 never rode in a Subway, now I’m too scared to do so…
It was 20 or more feet ABOVE the ground, so more of a mono-rail.
1:32 He is actually burping at the person at the desk
I feel like this movie was less about the plot and more about “HEY LOOK LOOK AT THIS YEAH LOOK AT OUR COOL WATER AND FIRE EFFECTS BET YOU WISH YOU COULD MAKE THAT HMMMM?”
I'm so glad you made this. I had so many issues with this movie and you hit on a ton of them.
And you didn't even bring up the fact that they only knew each other for less than a WEEK and somehow they're madly in love??
That's rom coms for ya!
My mom absolutely loves this movie given all the faults, shes a sucker for romance (i.e. chemistry)
Also bro imma really need you to sin Eight Legged Freaks
Bring back the good old days of Pixar when they made actually good movies
lol chemistry. Get it. Because chemistry works with elements. GET IT!
I'm surprised they didn't mention the little ground girl who shows up in almost every scene! The little girl in a yellow shirt with cacti pigtails. Shes in the background when Bernie and Cinder come to the city, but she's the same age in the background for the rest of the movie too. Drives me crazy!
NO WAY!!!! She was there the whole time?!?! But she ended up dating clod in the end credits!!! that's kinda sus!!I
It's so cool that you noticed that!!!!!! I only saw her at the end.
We don't say skin cells, but we do reference other things that come out of our body when we're angry.
7:53 willingly driking tOoT tOoT jUiCe
4:53 One problem? Why do wear clothes even without pants? Why wear clothes & no pants?
This movie was surprisingly good.
2:52 The sad thing is that there are people who are actually THIS entitled IRL.
Sin 61 at 10:52, I think they aren't picking apples but its an adult reference to picking cherries.
With the success of Elemental there still a chance a sequel can happen and hopefully that sequel can iron out the problems the first one has.
1:36 SO TRUE. 😆
isn't that exactly what they did on Ellis Island?? 🤨🤔🤔🤐
15:45 I can't tell if that's a SpongeBob reference or not.
6:45 if you’re a Sonic fan, and you know who you are, you will see direct relations to Chaos with this comment
6:05 Just going to throw this out there:
Morgan Freeman
17:57 actually he can’t, because the water (generally) has to follow the law of gravity. It’s not like the earth people, who can just float away
You mean the air people?
bahahaha "dammit Pixar!" right at the end for the bow 😅❤
btw, the outtakes were hilarious in this one especially! 😆👌
Wow this was a masterpiece of cinema sins,it was a moist scorcher
3:43 hold up hold up, didn’t they leave fire island alone? Why is grandma here!?
Will we ever get a Super Mario Bros. Movie video?
Theyre not allowed to show an entire uncut movie dummy.
When they can find a sin
@@BlooBoi23 fair enough i guess
“Act of God? Or act of Clod?”
How does Clod not have his own spinoff?
Clod definitely needs a spin off. I'd watch it.
The scene with them walking through the fence should be sinned for being the best joke in the movie, spoiled by the trailers
Personally I think the Inspector joke was the best, which wasn't spoiled
I just saw your captioning at 14:20 that says dew instead of do. I love that 😂. Keep up the amazing videos
