This was such a beautiful video. The editing, great pictures, the music selection and all. But I’d particularly like to thank you (and people like you) for sharing intimate parts of your lives, inspiring us and showing what’s possible. The passion for capturing moments apparently can coexist with being present.
Thank you 🙏 It’s funny we actually watched this back together yesterday as a family and thoroughly enjoyed the memories! That’s what it’s all about after all 😊
I haven’t felt so much inspiration out of watching a camera review in a long time. This is really inspiring ,those pictures are amazing and will be timeless. Thank you for making this content❤️
I have a very similar setup, although I have a 1/4 mist filter (which may be a bit heavy. I may go for a 1/8). I tend to use a bit of grain in my recipes as well. I see the X100V as a camera for life and a camera for daily carry. The biggest difference between our cameras is that I use a silicon "wrap" on mine. It protects it from knocks and scratches. I use them on several cameras. I hate those scratches on the base of cameras, after you put them down on a stone wall or whatever.
Absolutely stunning photos and precious memories captured. I really enjoy watching your videos. Not only has this one helped me to decide to just go ahead and order the X100V but I now want to go there on holiday! Keep up the good work!
Some of these looks exactly like my family shots with the Olympus XA and 200 speed consumer film (c200, gold, etc). Especially with the slightly oof foregrounds in some shots. Cool video!
Another great video. I liked the way you reviewed the X100v by just showing what it can do and not reading a spec sheet. Looked like a great family holiday as well. Now I also want to go on a holiday!!
Tom this was definitely a GREAT plug for this camera lol and wow, your vacation pics are incredible AND make me want to be along with you guys lol!!! I love that the camera seems so compact and wide angle...Kids are adorable, wife is beautiful and looks like fun was had by all!!!
Spectacular holiday fun Tom , glad you made and shared these precious memories of your family vacation. Hope this has helped to re-balance you and the family after the Pandemic (V) #Londonlovesyou
Hi Tom. You look like you’ve dropped a couple of stones. Looking well. We all go though the paralysis of indecision when confronted with choice of gear. Bringing more I think would reduce the yield of compelling images made. I would greatly like to see a video on how you edit or grade your videos. That would be insightful and helpful to a great many people. Of course I do not expect you to share industry secrets. I’m still using my Leicas with mainly B&W film, bulk rolled Delta 400, FP4+ and Tri X. It’s something I attribute to your early film videos and I seem to have grown fond of it. It’s lovely how you’ve documented your time with your family. Thank you for sharing this. Do you still use 35mm film ? It doesn’t seem that giving you a gift of 35mm film seeing that you might have moved on from that. Take care.
Thanks mate, Spanish all inclusive buffet wasn't exactly vegan friendly. I think I lost weight on that holiday! For you I can make that happen. I don't do much at all to be honest with you. I just use a film look LUT from Jamie Windsor and apply it at around 50-70%. I still have a few 35mm cameras but they don't get used much at all. Hoping to spend more time in the dark room this winter though so that might change!
I borrowed a friends x100v for a trip and felt like it was difficult to get a quick autofocus. I’m new to photography but was thinking I’d get an a6700 for family photos to capture quick moving people. Maybe I was just doing something wrong though? Looks like yours were all in focus and sharp. Perhaps it was a combination of shutter speed and focus for me
I’ve to say, I don’t even know if I’ll ever sell my X100V, but after shooting with the Ricoh GRiii, it’s a close call. I prefer the GRiii better than the X100V, but I think the Fuji is a better all rounder. If the GRiii had better video and f2, it would replace my X100V
Beautiful family and thanks for sharing, looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I’ve just managed to get hold of an X100V and waiting for delivery this week, so it was great to hear your opinions…can’t wait for it to arrive. Man watching this makes me want to sit in a rubber ring and float round the lazy river with a Piña Colada 😂
Lovely work mate some fond memories captured forever, the loo shot made me laugh out loud though! I'm looking to put the X-T5 down for the more casual shooting projects, so I'm waiting on the X100 VI to arrive.
@@Tom-Humble definitely, IBIS can really help in low light and for slow shutter effect pictures. It's small and always ready to shoot because it has a small versatile lens permantly attached, unlike an interchangable lens setup sometimes. I like the 28mm FF for when you can't back up enough so have bought the WCL too. The X-T5 (and now the X100 VI) have a lovely fine grain with the 40MP sensor and so I'm looking to try the Black Pro Mist 1/8 in combination with that fine grain for a more film-like and bloom look to my images - certainly for certain situations.
Yes @stephenelliott7071 Ihave the wcl on my x100v most of the time. I do love the 28mm focal length for family and documentary stuff. I recently picked up a canon 5D classic of all things with the 28mm f1.8 lens and I have to say the images coming out of it are superb. Nowhere near as portable as the x100 series of course!
@@Tom-Humble cool I do too, I use 28mm a lot at Weddings on the X-T5 (which for me is the Fujifilm 18mm 1.4). I had a X100F some time ago for holidays/general use and I really liked the images it produced and the focal length too - except for some wide situations. But if we have the WCL then it's the best of both worlds I guess, in a very compact setup. Haha I much prefer the smaller camera bodies and lenses of the APS-C Fujifilm personally...And that first shot you showed on the intro was stunning btw.
So beautiful! Love the moments you've captured. Gained a sub! Questions: Do you post-process at all or are the photos straight from cam? What are your favourite film simulations? The colours are stunning, authentic and real all at once!
Love it! I might hit you up for a couple of those mountain shots to be printed and framed for my new place, lush! My favourite part though... your Spanish 'accent' saying no no you're ok to the lady in the market 😆😆
This video is great. very helpful and over all amazing shots, curious was all the videos on this trip with gopro? if you dont mind what gopro accessories did you use? I currently own a fuji xt2 but find it bulky on vacation, I will seriously look into the 100v. if you want in a shot like a selfie with family is the lens wide enough or do you need to set it up on small tripod? hope to hear back, Thanks for posting this. all the best to you and your family
Hi, Tom! Great video. The exact reason we’ve been looking to upgrade our XT20 is to better document the family. Do you find that the autofocus of the X100V is slower than other Fuji cameras? Or just that Fuji cameras have slower autofocus to Sony and Canon in general? We’re kinda between this and the XT30 II right now.
