- These ringneck chicks are just 5 days old. Ringneck doves make great parents and do all the work raising their young. Your job is to keep fresh water and food in the cage at all times.
I own a white dove release business and these birds will be used as display birds. White pigeons are used during the releases. Check out my Facebook page and give it a Like

They are very soft...
I love watching my doves. They both take turns taking such good care of the eggs. The baby boy got the boot from the cage after about a month. The mama, Lenya, loves to watch UA-cam videos about doves with me♥
Thanks for the comment. I just wish they weren't so prolific. Seems like their always breeding.
Dave Sherva I thank God that they've only had the one, I keep them in my bedroom and 3 is already quite a handful ♥

@@DaveSherva yeah you were right. I’ve been candling the eggs I see the heart beating and veins forming. It’s amazing how fast they develope. Should I supplement the mom with any type of extra nutritional things. Any advice?
@@joewarrick6043 I gave lots of variety, shredded cheese, carrot peels cut real small, apple cut small, Millet spray. No vitamins.
@@DaveSherva the eggs just began to hatch today. 14 days exactly. Right now they just have a small crack and a little break where the beak is working at it. Wonder how long it will take cause I’d love to get it on video
@@joewarrick6043 It can happen very quickly surprisingly. I'm excited for you. You need to start a channel and start videoing these doves.
My lol dovies are so cute, I got 7...gave 2 away, 1 got out of cage and hawk got him....I should not have the eggs to next ...too many doves hatch....I usually take the eggs away quickly and transfer these "fake eggs" I purchased from a pigeon shop by mail
Doves can be noisy at times, especially if they are in close proximity....females doves are so quiet
You seem to take very good care of your doves :) I plan on adopting a female dove to keep my male dove company and hopefully have a dove baby also one day do you have any advice on breeding doves?
Just let nature take it's course. They are fantastic parents. Your job is to keep a clean cage and provide clean water and food.That's it. The babies grow fast and are flying in 30 days,
+Dave Sherva how long can it take up to until the 2nd egg is laid? I had a homer that laid an egg on the flat ground near a stack of hay. is this something that I shld be worried about? I dont want the eggs to be trampled on n break.
+Jampee Saenthongkham The second egg is laid about 2 days later. Generally younger or less dominant pairs would lay their eggs on the floor. Do you have enough nesting boxes available? I had a pair that used the ground all last year with no problems. If the egg is bad the parents will push it out of the nest. I'd wait for the 2 nd egg to be laid and watch what they do.
+Dave Sherva yes dave I do. do u have fbk? Ill send u the pic. there is a stack of hay right next to the egg. im hoping maybe it just rolled off the haystack next to it and not fell from the nest. I want to inspect the egg for cracks but how can I do it without touching the egg. I heard once u touch the egg it will abandon them . is that true?

Thanks for the comment. I got lucky with these two as parents. I will say the male does have an attitude problem towards other birds. He wants everybody to know he's the boss. How many birds to you have Trisha ?

+rajae nelson Watch their behavior the male will dance around and puff up it's chest and coo while trying to attract the female. Males also have a larger build. The males feet also look more purple then the females.
Can a mourning dove pair with a ring neck
+rajae nelson I'm not sure. It's illegal to keep mourning doves and also very stressful to keep wild birds in captivity.

@@DaveSherva . that's interesting . my dove must be a male then . i still call her a she . she is not trained yet and i let her fly around the apartment . she doesn't like the cage . i call her Frieda .

I do have white homers. Here's a video I shot 2 days ago v=ul5fJKMVhlU I live in Minnesota and shipping can get expensive. I would recommend putting a ad in Craigslist. White pigeons are easy to find.
