If you want to go this route, get HoverAir ProMax like I did, is much better in Specs,feathers and the whole nine yard comes with the one terabyte SD card and a lot more fantastic features , would swallow this and a spit it out💪👍🤙🤟

It will be handy for people like myself who are currently using something like a Tello to maintain "muscle memory" in their thumbs while using indoors on bad weather days.
I have some little $20-40 drones from walmart where I do the same thing. Really makes you more confident when you get the chance to actually get outside with the real drones.
If it is just a “selfie” drone why will it work with phone goggles 3 and motion controller. It’s not really small. It’s not whoop small. If you’ve flown those you know they are very capable these days. I think the neo will be the same way. Maybe better than a whoop. I think the purpose of the neo is budget, younger market and packability along with making quick posts to social media. 4k 30 ain’t great. But it ain’t no joke either. I do like the X1 as a dronie tool; I have larger DJI drones for more sophisticated flying. But still interested to see how the Neo stacks up to my original Hover Air X1 for ease of use.

I wonder if their reasoning behind it is this: if we are catering both the Hover and the Neo as drones for content creators, maybe DJI thinks they'll make more money selling more units at a lower price than Hover will at a higher price. Most content creators don't NEED 4K, so they may opt to get the cheaper drone since they already have other gear for most of their shots. Not saying it'll work out that way, but each company definitely has a strategy.
But with Hover you can create slow motion content. If I would do action content often and had the choice of a drone with 4k 30 fps and a drone with 4k 60 to 120 fps, fuck the price, my choice is always the better camera. Most of the shots that those drones do, I can do with my M4P too. So no need to buy, just for the few occasions.

Yes. That's the problem. Most content creators aren't going to realize that a UA-cam or TikTok account is "in furtherance of a business", so they have to have the Part 107. And if they have the Part 107, they need the Remote ID, regardless the weight of the drone. Not that anyone will follow these rules until FAA actually has enforcement of them.

I'm hoping it's going to be more of a sub 250g Avata2 with all the fpv capabilities the A2 has. 22gb internal is more than enough for the battery time from the fly more combo. I hope the selfie modes are just a half baked add on, not interested in any of that really and the last thing social media needs is more "look at me, look at where I am" selfie nonsense. It's getting nauseating 🤢😂 This is just my personal opinion though 😅😂 I have a Pavo20 Pro in the pipeline too incase the Neo is crap. 😉🤣
I bought the DJI FPV drone at a good price well after I'd first built and flown hobby grade fpv drones, and it still is great for mid range over sketchy territory. And I also enjoy flying my mini 3 pro fpv style with full head tracking. Not as much fun as a regular 5", but they have their place. I agree with the drone dad. This is not something I want or need at launch time, but I'll probably buy a used one at a good price in a year or so just for the size, the indoor video capabilities and the autonomous modes for quick shots.
Drone pilots are buying this to fly a *digital* FPV tiny whoop inside their homes over winter, or rainy days. They’re not buying it to replace a 5” kwad.

If it flies in full manual mode then it'll be a useful tool for FPV pilots.
From your key explanation I believe that also make sense as Dji also said this isn’t for professional uses and so it makes sense for content creators

Drone pilot 7months. I'm excited to fly it outside near me without all that noise. Drones not meant 2 fly street level, this is, so cool.

It has full acro. So as a cinematic for people who own an avata2 it would be good. I also live in a flight restriction zone, so that suits me also.
22 gigs is about 1.5hrs at 4k. It's more than enough. I think you're only going to use it at small distances anyway.

I think it has some noise canceling tech, which takes out the drone noise when recording.
Well it will be able to connect to the DJI mic 2 transmitter, so speech should be really clear.

I love the options. I'd rather have something like the Hover or the Neo and not need it, rather than need them and not have them.
Hover does not use GPS and hence no geofencing and flight restrictions.

Fair point. I've cut my teeth on DJI and it gave me a really solid foundation to feel confident flying other, more intentional drones.
