Hi Teya, great to see that you’ve smoothly transitioned to this new chapter of life. Hi Teya, I have been watching all your videos from day one when you started University and now see how far you have come. I am so supportive of you. Anyways, Are you doing the LLB at the University of Sydney. Also how many courses were credited for you. What papers have you been doing. When do you finish law.
I am now in my 4L of LLB Hons at the University of Waikato Hamilton. I finish Law by November 3rd and start profs by November 18th. I am doing 13 weeks full time.
What is it like compared to New Zealand in terms of your LLB. I know its Australian Law. When I was studying at the Australian International School in Singapore. In my HSC 2015-2016 I studied legal studies and did 2 criminal law essays, 2 family law essays, 1 workplace law essays within a 3 hour exam finals.

Hi Sachin, thanks for your comment and sorry about the (very) delayed response. Congrats on being in your 4th year of your LLB.
To answer your first question, I lived in the University of Sydney in my first year when I moved to Australia but I actually transferred my degree from UoA to University of Technology Sydney. I did 3 years of uni at UoA, but only about 1 year of my uni subjects cross-credited to UTS, so I don't finish until until November 2025.
The subjects I've recently completed are Evidence, Public International Law and the subjects I'm doing next semester is Real Property and Remedies. I would say the subjects at UTS / Australian Uni's compared to NZ are really not that different - you still have to complete the 11 compulsory subjects before you can do electives. From next year onwards, I'll be able to do my final year electives. There isn't that stark of a difference between studying Law in NZ compared to Australia. I think the main difference I've noticed being at my current uni is the amount of collaboration. At UoA, it was very much individual style teaching/work whereas at UTS, we are encouraged to do a lot of group work in tutorials and collaborative group presentations as part of an assessment. The exams are also not given as much weight and there is usually a couple of internal assessments eg mid-semester assignment and class participation whereas that wasn't so much the case at UoA. Also, my uni is one of the only uni's across NSW that have online exams only. The other uni's like Usyd, UNSW are all back on campus with their exams and lectures.

I’ve applied for academic exemption for all the papers i’ve taken at UoA. unfortunately not all my papers will be credited which means I will need to do some compulsory first year papers but i’m still waiting to see if any of my uoa law papers will be credited! I live in usyd campus but i actually study at university of technology sydney (uts) and they have a really good law and business school aswell!
