I'm about to enter my first year as a software developer and I'm scared but excited at the same time. Finding your channel gives me some things to look forward to
Great video - I’m currently in my first year doing the same degree at Usyd. How have you found the degree thus far? In particular, how has the difficulty increased from first year to second, third and fourth years. Cheers
Thanks! I've enjoyed it so far, the difficulty has been relatively the same, but increased slightly after first year so make sure you get those easier marks in first year!
Hey Matt, can you tell me why did you chose USYD as your college as I’m a little confused right now regarding my college selection? What are the professors like in business classes ? What about sports too as I’m a passionate person when i comes to sports and also the internships, i know I’m asking a ton of questions but I’m just curious regarding the following, thanks.
@@aryan.re9 - I chose USYD mostly because of the opportunity to major in both Comp Sci and Finance under one bachelors degree. I've had a great experience at Usyd, and the university definitely has a more abundant campus life than other Sydney universities however most of the activities will come from your college rather than the university. There is defiantly a stronger focus on academics at Usyd compared to my experience at other universities however there are many programs that offer great internship opportunities. Hope that helps, Cheers Matt.
Did you take the five year corse for commerce and advance computing? I am still struggling to decide whether to take an additional minor as computer science or take a double major course. I heard that there are many benefits and future opportunities for business students to have computing knowledge. Is there an option to take more classes after finishing a minor so that it gets equivalent to the double major courses? (Btw, I love your videos!)
I did bachelor of commerce and bachelor of advanced studies (double degree) and majored in finance and computer science. The course took 4 years which is just how usyd offers their double degree course. I believed if you do advanced computing you should already be getting technical coding knowledge but let me know if I’m missing anything. (Thank you!)
I was considering the same double degree course at usyd i wanted ask are there problems with jobs with having double major and also what’s the jobs scene in Australia?
Hi, I may attend to the business degree as an international student at the university of sydney next year. (i study ib diploma in the uk btw) I saw many negative reviews about this university for some reason even though it's well known in Australia. Some say the teaching quality is poor compared to ivy league unis or russell group unis, and others say it's too easy to get into there compared to those mentioned group unis and therefore it't not prestigious. Although the university ranking for business management at USYD is around 46 in the world. Here is the question; What's the position of the business management student at USYD in terms of the academic level? Also, what's your general view about this university? Is this university about as good as UCL or LSE or KCL... if you know? (those are the top unis in london.) Sorry for a lot of questions! Hope you see this comment!
Hi. I'm planning to take up comsci and commerce in usyd since I got an offer, but a lot of online videos and comments r criticizing the course and social life in usyd.. So I'm now undecided between usyd n unsw. Can you enlighten me on these rumors? Like how true are they? Thanks a lot bro cheers
I think comp sci is stronger at unsw but commerce is stronger at usyd. In terms of social life, you can build it at both unis depending on your interests but in my opinion it is a bit easier to build it at unsw (more society events and cliques). However usyd does set you up better for your working life as you work with diverse people and backgrounds. But these are just my personal opinions and I’ve only been at usyd :3
