I don't know if I missed it or not, but have you reacted to/ given your thoughts on Ms. Marvel?
MARY: F**k the goats!
VIEWERS: We do not do that anymore.
You're right: You did start your MCU journey with Iron Man, but your journey isn't complete, if you know what I mean, 🍒.
Dude, those goats were piss funny😂✌
Things Mary hates the most so much
1. Tiny men (The Boys)
2. Screaming Goats
3. Blood and guts
Fun fact: A majority of the Hemsworth family were in this movie!!! His wife played the wolf woman at the beginning, his son played the child Thor in the opening montage, his brother played Thor in the play, and his daughter played Love.
Omg I didn’t know Love was played by his daughter… that makes the whole “Uncle Thor” thing so much more adorable…
Do you know what this means for you?
You dont have a life if you know that much stupidity
When Mary said "They're cute together" I was thinking "There is a reason". She had no idea how true that statement was
Which brother? I think he has three of them.
@@Albino_Wolf I don’t remember, sorry.
I don't know if you noticed but the reason Mjolnir was drawn to Jane is that Thor unknowingly enchanted Mjolnir. In the flashback of their relationship when he tells it to "always protect her," the same symbol appears on Mjolnir that appeared when Odin placed the worthiness enchantment on it. So Thor accidentally enchanted it to let Jane wield it, and he probably realized that later on when he thought to give the kids his powers
A little bit late to watch this video but yea I was gonna make this comment if nobody else did
Exactly. Astute observation.
Jane was snapped/blipped, that’s why she and Thor’s counts of how many days it’s been are off by so much
Jane got snapped, so it's 3-4 years for her, yet Thor remembers 8 years, 7 months and 6 days.
Ever realize that there is virtually no chance the snap and the blip happened on the same day? So everyone that got blipped gets one year older on a day other than their birth day.
The "feast, not on the children" bit is my fave part of the movie. Also Christian Bale carried this film with his acting
It is a shame that 99% of the cut content was his scenes too.
The Shadow Creatures were actually designed by the kids of the actors and the crew. They asked them to draw creepy monsters and took those to the vfx artists to simply turn them into what you see in the movie
Wow. Are those kids into some Lovecraft?
@@riveraharper8166 Or maybe the love to hear Heavy Metal music.
Which is even more powerful, as Thor gave them the courage and power to defeat literal monsters from their nigthmares. Thor uplifting children, after being quite incompetent towards them at the beginning, is what proves he would be a good father.
Sif's arm not making an appearance in Valhalla at the end is one of the great cinematic tragedies
I will never get over that.
That scene with Doctor Foster in The Hospital Bed reminds people why Portman is a Golden Globe winning Actress.
Looking back at this movie, I wished they made Gorr a more threatening villain not be messed with more
There should have been way more scenes of Gorr actually killing. He basically only kills 1 god on screen. Every other death weren't even shown.
@@k3n12ock This 100%. While his onscreen aura is amazing, it's hard to see him as a threat when we haven't seen him tear through multiple gods with various abilities.
@@k3n12ock yeh the sadly cut all the scenes of him killing the gods it was filmed
no.
"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."
@@carloslaredo8840 that works in a straight up horror movie where you're constantly building and releasing tension, not so much in a straightforward Marvel action movie. This isn't The Thing or The Mist.
As great of a villain as Gor is, they really down played him by making him a one and done villain. In the comics he's a long term villain whose sword actually heralds much bigger cosmic threats because both of them are part of a much bigger arc.
Still, Bale at least did a great job at it.
He’s not a long term villain in the comics ?WTF ?He only lasted for mere 5 issues that’s way less than many villains in the comics !LOL
Knull is owned by Sony. This limited Marvel's ability to explore the necrowsword.
Best Christian Bale performance in a Comic Book Movie. Don't @ me.
No body notice it! This movie, Thor 4: Love and Thunder is told from Korg POV, Ragnarok is told from Thor, Thor and The Dark World are told by Odin Himself.
When we reached the scene of meeting Zeuz with all the other gods, I was hoping Gorr would visit there at some point and massacre everyone😭
Missed opportunity
@@mickeymouse7726 what’s crazy is the story would’ve made complete sense because Zeus’s palaces was filled with so many gods 😂
It would not have worked because omnipotent city was filled with light. And the necrosword is powerful by working thru shadows.
The goats actually are actually a reference to the real mythology of Thor. With an obvious pop culture reference added to it. The part where Thor said that he’s more than willing to have them for dinner is what happens in the mythology. Kinda wish they went through it
There is a great Danish Cartoon from 1986 called Valhalla where they actually eat one of them and he brings it back to life. I don't know if it can be had with english subs or audio, but it's def worth a watch none the less.
In norse mythology Thor had two goats that pulled his chariot: gaptooth and toothgrinder were their names (sounds better in old swedish or whatever the language is). Thor could eat them every day and then theyd reappear the next morning. I love them in this!
tanngrisnir and tanngnjóstr If I remember correctly
I once read Toothgnasher & Toothgrinder.
It makes sense the kid has an aussie accent, since she is Chris's kid in real life as well.
During the skirmish with Zeus's forces, Thor using his bonds to deal damage really gave 60s era Hercules vibes. Chris Hemsworth must have been channeling his inner Steve Reeves and it was glorious.
That line was real. In Norse Mythology, asgardians were used to feast on children and were later revived using the Odin force. But they used to die anyway because of weakness so... 🙄🙄🙄
Fun fact: one of Thor's tattoos is a list of people he's lost. One of them is Loki, but it's written as 'Loki?', implying that Thor STILL doesn't believe that Loki's truly dead.
On the list of people he lost vision was never on there everyone forgets about vision.
@@jackmarshall3255 Or maybe he didn't see him. It did happen in dense foliage.
@@georgethefriend29 I think Thor did see his dead body because he was by Steve and Steve was looking down at vision dead body.
@@jackmarshall3255 Vision isn't a person.
@@redrick8900 I mean he kind of was Wanda turned him into human in infinity war and Wanda vision.
Funfact: In the comics the Necrosword is the first ever symbiote created by Knull the God of Symbiotes as a weapon to slay all gods, it is the progenitor of all symbiotes including Venom.
Lame retcon.
I love that Chris Hemsworths daughter got to be in this and this was great Gorr was a great villian and I liked scary he was but it did kinda clash with the comedy tone for me but overall I enjoyed it and Jane was dope as Lady Thor
Fun fact: when Thor was calling for mjioner and strombreaker comes and gives angry little bit angrish reactions overall the movie cuz the handle is groots part and it has emotions!
You probably missed the reason of mjolnir helping Jane! Thor actually told the hammer to protect Jane in a flashback scene. That's why it helped Jane to recover at first. But it backfired.
Be nice to Gnasher and Grinder. They have a pretty hard life. They pull Thor's chariot every day, get cooked and eaten every night, only to wake up the next day and do it again. And if their bones are ever broken to reach the meat inside, they're permanently disabled. But still don't get to stay dead.
They have more than enough reason to be screaming.
This is the 4th Thor movie, Hercule’s vs Thor will be in the 5th one
Without a doubt Christian Bale as Gorr were the highest points of the film. His performance as a villain impressed me.
portman and elba had said they were done with the mcu pretty early on. getting them back for this movie probably cost disney a pretty penny. im happy to see them again.
If you want some information Jane in the comics had cancer.
Everytime she became Thor all the cancer treatments are removed so it's basically killing her.
The post-credit scene with Jane Foster is hinting at her becoming a Valkyrie.
I'm really glad that you noticed how Jane went to Valhalla after her battle against cancer, it's something that a lot of people unfortunately don't pick up on, and it's a really beautiful message from the film for anyone who has dealt with that disease. Regardless of the movie's flaws and people's opinions on it, I think it does some things REALLY well and the way they handled Jane in this movie was great in my opinion!
What only asguardians go there this happened because she fought gorr and became a thor
Well, glad it's 2 hours of your time, not mine 😁
I enjoyed Thor: Love and Thunder. I loved the '80's influenced in this movie. This movie gave me Conan the Barbarian(1982), Flash Gordon(1980), The Beastmaster(1982), Krull(1983), The NeverEnding Story(1984), Heavy Metal(1981), Red Sonja(1985), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985 ), Legend(1985), Masters of the Universe(1987), The Princess Bride (1987) and Willow(1988) vibes. Also, loved the nod to Jean-Claude Van Damme's mid-air split in this movie.
This will be the first marvel movie I really call trash biggest disappointment.
If you think Eternals is better than this you have problems.
I love watching these films with you Mary your emotions hit hard ❤❤❤
It's a pity that they seem to have completely forgotten that Valkyrie is in fact a valkyrie. It's literally her job to ferry souls to Valhalla.
Thor is his name but it can also be used as a title for anyone who is worthy to wield Mjolnir
"Thor Ragnarok" was the perfect blend of action and comedy.
This film was too heavy on the comedy.
Gorr was the only reason I watched the whole movie.
Olympians in marvel are true immortals, a big part of their vital organs would need to be "atomized" for them to expire and even if that happens, they can be resurrected
Please watch the original STAR TREK movies too.
Top Gun & Mission Impossible first
@@fernandosantiagorodrigueze2655 Why, to make the Trek movies look better by comparison?
WE NEED ROCKY 4, 5
Rocky
Creeds!!!!!
This movie is just well built-in emotional dialogue but does not have a great fight scene like other Thor series, after watching your wonderful reaction and more people in the comments section I got to understand more this film!
Russell Crowe played Superman’s father, and in here he plays Zeus, who is Wonder Woman’s father! 🤯
OMG Russel Crowe's muzza accent was perfect. I've seen a lot of people have a go at his accent. It was perfect if you're Australian.
I think Taika took some notes from James Cameron's sequel successes and applied them to Love & Thunder - change the genre (sci-fi action comedy to fantasy romcom), bring back the heroine (Jane and Valkyrie), add a kid (Love and all the Asgardians).
It's not a romcom at all.
The goats are emblematic of this movie...little story, cringe humor done to excess, and too much CGI
I hope the next one is a bit more grounded and Thor's less of a bull in the China shop as far as his being able to relate to people. Bale was great in this one and a villain with understandable motivations. But the constant emphasis on cringe got old five minutes into the film. We need something more relatable and have people grow as characters without the OTT.
Nobody picks up that Korgs boyfriend is called Dwayne, as in Dwayne the Rock Johnson
Mary, if you haven't watched the Blade movies, you should check them out. The success of the Blade movies is the only reason iron Man got greenlit in the first place.
Well at least the first 2 Blade movies.... You can skip the 3rd and not miss anything
That's total BS. Iron Man got green lit because the tech existed to do it.
@@redrick8900 yeah Iron Man came out over a decade later and advancements in visual effects tech (both practical and computer generated) are what convinced Marvel Studios it could be made, there's not a direct link to Blade. But every Marvel movie since 1997 partially owes their success to Blade, because it's the movie that made Marvel a valuable brand in the movie industry. It's the movie that convinced Hollywood that comic book superheroes could be box office hits, that the genre wasn't limited to Superman and Batman. Blade's success is why the X-Men and Spider-Man movies got greenlit, and the success of all those movies (and the Fantastic Four) is what ultimately led to the big gamble of an interconnected cinematic universe, starting with Iron Man in 2008.
@@carltonmoore6967 Blade didn't make marvel any kind of valuable brand. it didn't carry any Marvel branding of significance. Most of the people that watched it had no idea it was a Marvel property or even a comic book movie.
X-Men did what you people are talking about and it was in development years before Blade even came out. Brian singer was attached as director and Patrick Stewart was already talking to him about playing Professor X.
This was the first Marvel movie to convert existing comic fans into movie fans. The X-Men was huge when the movies came out.
There were no Blade fans in 1997. It was just made a movie because vampires were hot and it was cheap vampire IP.
18:51 great reaction mary
Jane got cancer from the Reality Stone.
This is my favourite mcu movie, partly because of how badly it was received but mostly because it’s enjoyable.
It's funny that Gor is also Batman
I think the reasoning in the comics is that whenever she used the hammer and became a God, it purged all the mortal out of her in a sense. So when she reverted back to just being normal non-Thor Jane, she was back at the basic mortal form and all the chemo had been drained from her body because it wasn't a natural mortal state.
Never got around to reading this arc, but chemo works by killing the body, but in targeted way. So it would make sense to me if her divinity "healed" her body, it might not distinguish from healthy or cancerous cells.
fun fact, jane dissapeared in the blip, so when she asked thor is it 3 or 4 years? and thor corrected her 8 years, but for her it was 3 because of the blip
She's got an Aussie accent because that's Chris' daughter.
Well well Mary cherry, another day making my afternoon happy with your videos, I send you a big hug from Spain
I feel like labeling Christian Bale as a villain in this movie is unfair. Hes an upset father trying to save others from bad "gods". In the end, he still does the right thing
He should have hit Gorr with a lightning blast light he hit Hela with he was human again he'd be dead and Thor could have used the wish. Make Jane healed or even better immortal so he never has to lose her
Mary: never meet your heroes dude
Thor: you know what they say " never meet your heroes"
Mary: yeah I said that
While i disliked the comedic way they treated Zeus, his personality was on point. Though why Thor said he was the oldest one is beyond me there are much much older gods. Thoth for example, also in the Greek pantheon youve got Zeus’s parents and uncles and aunts. Which thanks to this film and Moon Knight we might be seeing more gods and goddesses.
Thor Love and Thunder should have been a Disney Plus show not a movie
why?
I enjoyed this movie very entertaining.
Idris Elba did the voice of Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic 2
Jane foster actually becomes a Valkyrie in the comics after she died so hopefully they follow up on the thread in the next movie.
It’s hard to tell if Gor is taunting Valkyrie and Jane, empathizing with them, or both…
I was never motioned but those "shadow" monsters that Gor summons are really symbiote's
They must be of a lower class than say Venom then. Or else they would have been mowed down.
Or the fact that All-Black is the original “god” of the symbiotes, and also the most powerful.
in the comics yes but not the movies
“AAAAAH!” 🐐🐐😁
Originally Thor actually convinced Zeus to let him use his Thunderbolt by telling him he did it for love but Kevin Feige had other plans for Zeus so he told Taika Waititi to reshoot those scenes.
Thor is a title, not a name or species. It’s equivalent to king or queen rather than human or Adam
also Jane becomes a Valkyrie in the comicbook
Watch werewolf by night
Agreed...I absolutely loved it
2 of the 7 movies contained here were decent. Except when they were playing at the same time as the other 5. Which was most of the time.
Jane went to Valhalla because she died in her battle against cancer, not Gorr.
You don't actually battle cancer.
Chris Hemsworth is so funny and cute in this movie Jane too! I Love the whole Thor has a relationship with Storm breaker and Mjlnir it's too funny 🤣 Jane's divided states of being as human and sick self and Her Asgardian Thor self. And Gorr was so Evil and Dark when He was being a Villan , but I'm glad he chose Love , they all did 🤗💖
Havent seen a Marvel fight in black and white? You HAVE to see Werewolf by night,
fun fact: in Valhalla she gets to eat anything (ie, chocolate, cheesecake, etc) and never gain weight....she stays the same shape as when she died
So when Captain America was deemed worthy, he had "the power of Thor". Big difference is, Cap was an incredible warrior prior to getting the hammer. Thor was a great warrior before the hammer as well. I understand that Jane gets protected and is given the "power" of Thor, but how is she all of a sudden able to fight?
I enjoyed the movie, but I do think it could’ve done with less comedic moments and more of Gorr. I also wish the movie was longer too.
Otherwise the visuals were (mostly) good and I liked the plot line with Jane.
Her prayers have been answered 😂🤣
That's funny. I fell for the Korg false death too, even though he's the narrator and couldn't possibly not make it to the end of the story.
The thor movies are the only part of marvel I care for anymore. I guess I should watch guardians 3 someday when I get Disney+ for free again. But yea this is the only thing after endgame that I have watched. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I didn’t watch it with expectations that it would be as good as Ragnarok or that it would kickstart phase 4. I came in after all the hate it received online with no expectations to enjoy it whatsoever. So I was pleasantly surprised by this movie.
PS
I hope Stellar Skateboard comes back in part 5
I really feel that her comedy makes her look very weak and does not make her develop well due to the excess of unnecessary jokes. But I'm just saying, she's good and not perfect. That she is very far... from being her.
She never felt right for the role. As much as I love her.
I got the Goat plushies....
This movie is so underrated ❤️ i loved it so much !
@@Mr__17 nope ? Just because i enjoyed it i'm 12 ?
@@Mr__17 You should try to write more literately if you want to condescend at people.
I agreed with Nebula after awhile with those goats...
goats are hilarious. come on
I liked the goats
didn't anybody else notice that Korg's partner was called Dwayne (the rock) wonder if his last name was Johnson
In the Comics and in the real life mythology Thor married Sif and they have kids
What is Roy Kent doing here 39:16 😂 I just notice Hercules is played by the same actor who is Roy Kent in Ted Lasso
still remember when u died laughing at YOU FLICKED TOO HARD DAMMNIT LMAOOOO
Watch Star Wars Andor :) its incredible!
Korg loves Dwayne the rock's Johnson.
The guy that Korg has a child with is named Dwayne as in The Rock...
With all the gods that appear in this film, it is worth mentioning that one is missing. I'll let y'all guess.
17:12 You were right the first time.
I always loved the THOR films 🎥 always full of action and good laughs 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️
Ngl this is probably my favorite of Thor movies. I’ve never been as keen as Ragnarok on most.
I really liked Jojo Rabbit, but I had no idea Taika Waititi was gonna be Jojo Rabbit 2 (Thor: Love and Thunder). I can defend Taika Waititi to an extent, but we already got comedy in form of Guardians of the Galaxy. Thor being reduced to an empath, instead of god with great power is not amusing to watch.
The end reminds me of The Empire Strikes Backs and the death of darth vader
The ending is a possible set up for more Jane. I wont spoil it though
fav marvel movie. after watching this, the wife finally understood what i'm going through and gave me permission to die, with the caveats of it being a long time and if only i really have to. also, love the goats, but i come from a family of herders and thought they were used just enough as an quality accent.
