  • This was my second Trip Paddling solo and my first in an old canoe I bought from an outfitter. With Max and Thais we Paddle 41km from Palmer Rapids to Griffith. It was the perfect place to advance our skills and take a couple swims if need be, but the water was warm and everything was beautiful during 3 perfect August days.

Nice example of a canoe over canoe rescue! I remember having to do that for a canoeing merit badge 50 years ago. For my canoeing, it's been a useless skill. But it was neat to see.

If survival methods rely on water condensation from leaves, doesn’t make much sense to use green leaves to dry, it does help with aireation I guess, but they hold humidity and water too
