I use loose tea in a teapot and so it stays strong for 3 uses; I wear a nice backpack to keep my hands free. In it have small wallet, readers (glasses w/o prescription), phone and keys. For decades, I have no TV. I only use cloth napkins again for decades and never bought paper dinner napkins. I think it is healthy habit to watch my water bottle at least daily. I love taking a daily shower and prefer heat over wearing a lot of clothes in the house. My house is shoe free. I am a semi-professional artist but don't hang any of my paintings and have mostly bare walls mostly hanging scrolls from In China & Japan and Buddha statues from India. I wash plastic veggie bags and reuse them until they rip. I am not a minimalist per se, but I do not like clutter or being wasteful.

I'm not an (ultra) minimalist but I try to be intentional with what I own. I also only carry a small bag with my phone, my earbuds, a small wallet, my keys and some tissues. Can't imagine carrying around a heavy bag every single day.

I would love to hear more about your transition into an ultra minimalist lifestyle! I'm a bit of a hoarder so while I'm getting better about not introducing new items into my life, it's hard for me to let go of things i already own

Good morning! You remind me of myself except I am 65. Your natural beauty shines. For many years I have surprised my friends by not having a refrigerator or stove/oven. They are both unnecessary, take up space, and harm the environment in multiple ways. Ty for posting!
I'm certain this video is informative and inspirational to many !! It is encouraging to know someone as young as you has figured things out and can communicate her experience. Your way of living is not "weird". It is how many of us "old timers" have lived most of our lives. It is a matter of understanding what is truly in our own best self-interest (health-wise/mentally/emotionally/financially). It is a Joyous and Freeing experience to have fewer stressors on "our time" and in "our environment". WELL DONE. 💚 -V

I grew in the island and water is very much my favorite thing to drink, swim or shower. Cleaning my skin morning and bedtime is essential for me 👩🏾🦱
Heating is important for the bulding substance. Not only for your comfort.
For example mold can grow easier if a building is not heated correctly. Most leases have a heating clause, where tenants are responsible for heating in an adequate manner and can face repercussion if damage occurs due to incorrect behaviour.
I am using heat in December and January. But I am pretty sure I am the only one cutting it in February so that’s ok 😉

To be honest I have so much stuff I don’t need. I’m not exactly a hoarder but we are having clearout soon and redecorating so might try and bear minimalism in mind.
Not sure I can be as hardcore as you but it’s really interesting. I also carry a big backpack. Maybe I don’t need to anymore 😂

I have not always been a minimalist either, but since I saw the documentary « the minimalists » on Netflix it changed my perception of material possessions and made me realise how many stuff I had. I highly recommend it 😄

What a great video! I wish more people do what you do. I gave my TV away several years ago, as I felt it was a waste of time. I also don't have subscription of any kind. Like you, I wear the same pair of socks for several days, unless I go running. I have more kitchen dishes than you because I cook at least two dishes for each meal and sometime invite friends over for a meal. So I need more than two bowls.😊I do have couple of artworks on my walls. They are my paintings, not posters from my travels. Simplicity is the best!

Now I live in a big house with a lot of stuffs that the owners left so I tend to use more objects that I normally do, so I don't have to throw too much away 🤷♀️

I live in England and last year energy was so expensive I’d just warm up some water and take my hot water bottle with me everywhere 😅 it was honestly fine and I’ve saved so much money just by doing that
I feel you! Great tip! When I’m cold I use my hot-water bag that I use initially when my period is painful, it does wonders to keep me warm 🥰

I understand a lot of things you said😊😊I do have a question though; you said you don’t have a big bag, but don‘t you sometimes carry a waterbottle or your laptop around to go to work or uni or a cafe to work there? and if so, how do you carry these things then?😅🥰
Hey Lucie! Yes I just use my little bag with me most of the time because there’s always drinks and food on set where I work! But usually I just take my waterbottle in my hand if I’m going on a walk for example. And I almost never use my laptop haha it’s always at my home! ☺️❤️
I recently learnt that a few ultra minimalists use only pasta bowls, instead of side plates, regular plates and bowls. I thought that was so coooooool! Even if you had 6, that's still the same as 2 people owning 2 of each. No awkward stacking in tight spaces either.
I find it very cool that you are a model and actress and are a minimalist! A lot of people in those jobs probably are not and full of materialist desires/items. I would love to know your detergent recipe!
Yes I talk a lot of minimalism when I meet my « coworkers » of the day and usually they never heard of it and couldn’t do it haha! But I’m always happy to spread the message of a more intentional and simpler life, even in a world as superficial as acting and modelling : it is possible 😄 Thank you Magdalena ! 💚

Great video, lots of good tips. A lot van be learned from our ancestors, yes. My grandma lost everything in WW2 but always lived minimally while many of her generation saved every scrap of paper. Maybe she knew that when it really came to it, it was futile to hoard stuff.

Now I know why some people are always asking for a tissue, an intimate wet wipe, an elastic for the hair, a bandaid, a nail file or sooooo many other things in case of accident...
I have tissues on my bag and I never ask for those things, but even so it happened, it won’t be the worst thing on earth to ask for help. I sometimes give a tissue to a stranger if someone ask me and I’m always happy to help if any way if I can. 😊
This is like listening to a description of my life ! I have children at home and I am minimalist but they are not. We have only four bowls, no plates, a cup each and I make laundry detergent as well. I work with animaux and only wash socks every three days and never ever have the heating on. No handbag either ! No tv,no 😊subscriptions Une belle vidéo, merci beaucoup Louise pour vos efforts

It is usually 19 degrees in my studio right now, but I would definitely not not using heat in Canada haha 🥶

Plastic bottles are very toxic. Also you should wash it every day. Bacteria grows quick. Hopefully you use a glass bottle.
Yes I will wash it everyday from now on, I will replace it with another glass one when this one will be broken 😊
@@louisefroideval A proper bottle brush really helps a lot to clean it, otherwise it's frustrating.

Yes! And it is a process of understanding that if we don’t feel good we just need to take some time alone to figure things out instead of buying mindlessly new things, because it is a never ending circle 😌

I don't understand how there are people who see your extreme way of life, I analyzed each point you said because you explained them with argument and frankly it all seems very sensible to me, and that the extremists are all the accumulators who don't even have space to store the things that continue buying. I wait for the moment when the planet forces us to see your way of life as something inevitable, we are leaving mountains and mountains of garbage, destroying everything because we find it very useful to change our telephone every year, our furniture every 5 years, our washing machine, cars... and that people who bathe daily and even take more than 15 minutes, know what it means to ration water because there is not even enough to drink in many places on the planet, it is shameful that it seems extreme to them to live consciously, and live without carrying a ton of things that destroy the future of those who remain. But don't ask the woman with the big bag for a tissue that she is carrrying in her big bag and then talk about how nice it is for you not to carry a big bag around with you.
@@Smithpolly You are completely out of my point. If I don’t carry something on me it’s because I do not need it. But it wouldn’t kill anyone if some day for example I hurt myself and ask for a tissue. On a daily basis I have my tissues on me, and I’m always happy to help if someone ask for one. It is called mutual aid. Again, you’re completely missing my point, I’m not blaming anyone for caring a big handbag, I’m just stating that I personally don’t want such a thing and I wouldn’t change that 😌

It's kind of crazy that there are so many women going around with large , heavy "mutual aid" sacks while other people are carrying a light "mutual aid" tissue , if that.
