During all the years of research Terry Brown discovered a game which would take place in the taverns of England where customers would try to kick the ceiling of the tavern, so so high kicking was not unfamilier to the people of those times, I I have interpreted that it was possible to apply these kicks to the pugilism I teach using it as a front kick under the chin. I realise that this explanation will not sit right with some people, but every body has their own interpretation of these arts, and this is something I believe was used.
@@maximisatwat in all my research I haven’t come across any deaths during training, there may well have been, but I haven’t seen any. But there are records of quarterstaff and other weapons being used and killing people during arguments, in the coroners records I think.
Perhaps I missed it in the video, but do you include any kind of upward bent arm-lock while standing? I see a lot of the double-wristlock, kimura, ude garami, etc...but I don't recall seeing the reverse of it. Top-wristlock, americana, shihonage, etc... if you are curious of the sort of thing I'm talking about. So many different names of course. All a bit different.
Superb. Wish there was a club here in Kent.
Thanks for taking the time to watch, we really appreciate it.
Brilliant stuff. Excellent arts to lean from great teachers 👍🏻
I didnt know boxes would kick as high as under the chin. I knew they would kick to the stomach but didnt know they would kick that high
