Also something about the braking system I learned from salmon fishing to lock down the spool with my thumb when setting the hook so my thumb is never on the brake dial

Love the reel reviews man. I feel all reels have something to offer for someone for sure. I am a daiwa guy and I have used every brand but shimano. Just fits me based on look and feel. Keep up the good work!
Awesome video have been wanting to pull the trigger on this reel and I’m glad this video came out so I can do so! Thanks for the dope review and honesty
I'd love to see a Tatula CT vs Revo SX comparison. There is a really good sale going on at Bass Pro shop for the Revo SX 4th gen with a Johnny Morris CarbonLite 2.0 Baitcast Rod all for $160. There just isn't that much information about the Revo SX from reputable people. When I got to the Bass Pro shop today I had no idea what to do, I really didn't know much about that Revo SX. I just know the rod was a $120 rod which basically came free with the reel.
Couldn't make up my mind between Lew's Tournament MP and the Daiwa 100 after watching your awesome video l chose to go with the Daiwa. Hope I'm not disappointed!!! 🇨🇦
Just received the 150HS today, going to use it as my frog reel! My second Daiwa bait caster. My other one has the smaller 100 size spool and kept coming to close to spooling the zillion. Seems smooth out of the box but alittle noisy going to open it up and perhaps put alittle grease on it. Thanks for the review!
I bought 2 CT type R's last yr when they went on clearance for $75. I haven't 1 issue with any of them. I wouldn't mind a clicking spool tensioner though.
Great review! How does the CT compare to the new TATULA 100? Is build quality, features, casting ability the same? I am on the fence about the CT vs the 100. I need to replace a couple of old casting reels, so I am looking at buying 2 or 3 TATULA reels. The price diff between the CT and the 100 is about $30 per reel. Comments appreciated. Thx!
I believe the 100 has a smaller frame and definitely more comfortable in hand. It tosses lighter baits better as well. If it was me I'd go with the 100 over the CT, but both are solid.
I just picked this reel up. And put it on top of my six foot eight. Fenwick lunker Stik and it is going to be one up to crankbait setups for me. This season
Think once this winter passes i'm gonna pick up one of the new G Loomis GCX rods and pair it with a tatula 100. I have so many Croix rods and a few dobyns. I wanna give G Loomis a go.
Thank again for your reply I finally bought both a Lews hyper mag slp and the new tatula 100 and they actually are very similar in size I love and prefer the ergonomics of the daiwa tatula 100 more than the Lews slp reels daiwa is a bit more compact. Your reviews are spot on keep you your great work with these videos they absolutely help me deciding on gear 👍
I'm a little late to the table on this thread, but just bought the 100 ..7:3 speed. First use today. Casting a small 1.5 crankbait on a windy day. In any direction it seemed to cast a mile with no hint of backlashing. After 50 years of bass fishing I have good thumb control , but little pressure was needed. My only concern was that the reel feels like mush. Very smooth , but could feel no vibration from the 1.5 or a rattletrap. I thought I was hung up but realized its the reel. I will get used to it, but the frame feels dead. Otherwise an amazing reel. I was casting with monofilament which also may have affected the feel.
The Tat 100 is a fantastic reel. Lack of vibration could of been the mono, but depending where you are could of been colder water as well. To be honest not 100% sure if water temp would effect vibration, but it seems like I feel less in colder water.
@@TackleJunky81 It is a fantastic reel . ..and they actually briefly had it for $109. a few weeks back at Sportsmans Outfitters on Ebay.. I jumped on it for my crankbaits..glad I did. thanks for the reply.

Looking into getting a reel for a heavier pike setup (1.5-2oz swimbaits). Lookin at tatula Ct or 100, 13 concept a2, and curado. Would something in this price range be heavy duty enough for heavier lures and still have smooth reeling and no flex?
