Gary Holt mentions that EVERYONE cheats when downpicking, even James Hetfield, Zakk mentions me again in an interview about learning the Pantera songs, Thy Art is Murder has a new singer, Ozzy is recording a new album, and for adventures with Ola I went to Mannheim Germany to go to the Guitar Summit exhibition!

I used alternate picking over down picking once while jamming Master of Puppets. My mother disowned me and my girlfriend left me (she even took our dog). I couldn't focus after that and eventually lost my job and house.

That guitar summit show looked amazing, so many interesting instruments! Looking forwards to the extended Vlog
Hetfield plays very different live nowadays because he's the singer, too and does a lot of gestures / body language to underline the lyrics. He really transformed over the years. So nothing wrong about not playing exactly live as it was recorded in the Studio, especially when you take his strong vocal performance into account *while* he plays his guitar at the same time.
I cant imagine what it feels like to get a shout from Zak Wylde.....who btw, learned to play guitar where I am sitting right now....Bricktown, NJ
Zakk was used to bring his monster dog on stage around 2000. Love that dog, Anselmo had a challenging time keeping his leash while Zakk was greeting with Dimebag on PanterA’s stage at Ozzfest
I also enjoyed the Guitar Summit in Mannheim. So many good guitar gear, so many guitars that I tryed out for the first time. I would like to see Solar Guitars at the Guitar Summit next year. 😉🤘

When I lived in Athens Ga. Mastadon played in a garage and I got to watch them play sitting on a couch less than ten feet from the band. There were maybe 6 people there.

Was at Guitar summit this year. Was there quite spontaneously, since a gig we should have had on Saturday got cancelled on Friday afternoon. It’s an amazing show, love to be there. It’s small enough to get thorough everything in like two days. It’s great but not overwhelming.

The guitar summit reminds me of the Dallas International Guitar Festival. Went there in 2019, there were a couple bigger brands there but a lot of local shops plus some really nice boutique brands. They had some known artists play there and you could sell and trade your own gear as well.

Years ago a friend of mine Rich covered Puppets and started alternating the whole intro. I was blown away by how it sounded down picked but also how cool it was to alternate that 2nd chromatic riff which was something I couldn't do at the time
