Been waiting for this all week! We knew it was coming. Great demo, killer amp! The Mark IV mode sounds really impressive compared to on the V. I'll be keeping my precious Mark IV though.
Basically a slightly improved Mark V but the JP2C still is all you would need (1 clean channel, 2 distorted channels with dedicated EQs and the shred switch for detuned guitars).
As a proud owner of the JP2C I agree. I was sold on the VII within minutes of trying one. It is going to be my "everything else" amp to compliment my JP2C. The fat clean is better here, crunch rules which is why it's on here twice, there's a blusier IIB mode and if metal is needed it is in here in spades. Great amp and leagues better feeling and sounding than the V!
@@nicktoth3994 I wonder how the gain / distortion of the IIC / IV modes sound compared to the JP2C, is it basically the same or does it have different qualities
@Axe Pharaoh not quite the purity and conviction that the JP2C has but somewhere in between that and the V. Removing the master volume and making the taper on the individual channel volumes smoother and more gradual like the JP2C removed much of that fizzy and compressed air that was like impossible to dial out on the V. I really hated it for that and is why I wasn't a huge fan of the bigger brother V.
I am glad Mesa took the time to release a new one and surpassed our expectations. This a truly great sounding amp 🖤. I think, However; I am gonna wait for a triaxis II with cab clone, midi and USB C connectivity. Hint hint Mesa/Boogie Hint

Thank you for posting this Ola. I really needed to hear how this Mark grinds. Most other videos out there really haven't gone there. My Mark V 90w kills (extreme & MkIIc & Mk4 channels are sooo good) and I'm super curious how you would approach this new Mark 7. Such a spectrum of tones to dig into
Gotta love Ola's reputation on the interwebs. I was discussing some of his amp reviews and they were like "Ola can plug into a potato with a TS-9 and make it sound good." 😆
I know the mark series is a metal amp, but for guys like me in a cover band that plays a good variety of music the versatility of the 3 channels will make my setup so much easier..... mine was delivered yesterday as I was setting up for my gig....now it's time to unbox it and see if it CHUGS🤘🤘🤘.... even though I'm not really a chugger
It’s not a metal amp, it’s every kind of amp. Would be great for blues. Any style. Goes from cleanest clean to highest gain and everything in between. The lineage is taking Fender amps and hot rodding them.
Have a great friday everyone!

The part after 4:20 is the tightest while still being muddy sound I've heard, I think. Those fast pickings are actually audible.
Basically a slightly improved Mark V but the JP2C still is all you would need (1 clean channel, 2 distorted channels with dedicated EQs and the shred switch for detuned guitars).
Exactly my feeling.
@@nicktoth3994 good to hear! I’ve ordered one as well!
Good review, Ola- thank you!🤘🏻
Thanks Ola! Great review!
Love this review!! Also, you gotta get Mark Morton on Coffee with Ola!
I like this better than the rectifier. The rec is too fizzy for me.
Killer tone, awesome riffs and purple solar X. So good 🔥🔥🔥
🤘🖤💀🖤🤘
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhht but you are just getting better and better Guitar Tones with a MIC, well done man!
Good shit, bro. Everybody else was using this amp for blues demos and shit. You’re a fresh breathe of air for reals hahaha
It's amazing that they fit all that in such a small head shell, I bet the inside looks like mission control at NASA.
Finally a video without cleans.
I had the “that tone is nasty af” face for the whole video.
Fucking love it Ola! Cheers
Finally!! This amp rips. It's really a shame how expensive it is but damn the features are amazing
@@mylogify what are you talking about theres a EQ panel in the right side of the amp
@@mylogify what do you mean
Been waiting for a Metal demo of this. Thanks!! Think I'll stick with a Dual Recto boosted or a JP2C if I wanna spend that kind of cash
This amp is both of those.
I am glad Mesa took the time to release a new one and surpassed our expectations.
This a truly great sounding amp 🖤.
I think, However; I am gonna wait for a triaxis II with cab clone, midi and USB C connectivity.
Hint hint Mesa/Boogie
Hint
I'm waiting for Mesa Boogie to make an affordable solid state hybrid amp like the new Diezel VH micro and Soldano SLO micro that are solid state mini amps that are affordable for us food stamps guitar players.
@@Highrollinhunter from previous releases, it is seems like this isn't Mesa's place in the Market.
But who knows. 😅
I hope you guys are patient 😅
@@axepharaoh you know what.... 😂 Don't think I am 😂.
@@samerbata haha neither am I, I'm trying not to think so much about what I ideally want from them even if it makes sense, because I know it'd start a long streak of frustration 🤣
DUDE! Nice bit of Evergrey!!!!!! More than Ever 😉😍
Well, I found my new amp, cheers Ola
Essa Solar Roxa tá muito linda! Se não custasse um Rim e um Figado, já estaria aqui comigo! 😁
so cool, thanks. The audio samples never quite achieved the dual-rect tones, but totally sweet nonetheless. Can't go wrong with the 6L6s.
It chugs!!! Love my Express 5-50.
You know, I’m kinda happy I’m not impressed 😊
I’ll keep both my mark 5 25 and mini rectumfrier. Also, got all the Neural DSP plugins I could ever need!
Thank you Mesa 👍
Please revisit the Mark V with a complete demo like this. I just scored one and would love to hear you dial up some tones. Cheers!
so many configurations on those mark amps you lose your mind, this amp it suits all types of music.
I have read that this amp was supposed to be called the Mark 6, but apparently during development of the amp it evolved so much over time that they felt that Mark VII was a better fit in terms of feature set and tones. Just what I have read tho!
That sounds like marketing jargon honestly. I think it's much more likely that peavey has the trademark on the mark vi name because of their bass amp.
@@ugorizzoli5830 agreed!
@@ugorizzoli5830 You are probably right!
So lets pretend that JP2C is Mark VI.
Well, this is as close as I will get. Thank you for reviewing your X Model for us😅
Amo el dulce sonido de un gran tono de guitarra por la mañana
Thank you for posting this Ola. I really needed to hear how this Mark grinds. Most other videos out there really haven't gone there. My Mark V 90w kills (extreme & MkIIc & Mk4 channels are sooo good) and I'm super curious how you would approach this new Mark 7. Such a spectrum of tones to dig into
Gotta love Ola's reputation on the interwebs. I was discussing some of his amp reviews and they were like "Ola can plug into a potato with a TS-9 and make it sound good." 😆
Keep the amp! It’s a must have
I know the mark series is a metal amp, but for guys like me in a cover band that plays a good variety of music the versatility of the 3 channels will make my setup so much easier..... mine was delivered yesterday as I was setting up for my gig....now it's time to unbox it and see if it CHUGS🤘🤘🤘.... even though I'm not really a chugger
It’s not a metal amp, it’s every kind of amp. Would be great for blues. Any style. Goes from cleanest clean to highest gain and everything in between. The lineage is taking Fender amps and hot rodding them.
