Finally - an approach to Volta system that works to put in bypass mode!

We have had lots of issues with our Volta system. After some troubleshooting with the Volta team, we have come up with a new procedure that should stop power depletion when plugged into shore power. Hope you find this helpful!

You should never plug a motorhome or B Van power to a hot 30 amps. You should turn off the breaker to the 30 amp plug, then plug in the van, then turn on the breaker. It can cause a surge if plugging into a hot plug. Usually it will blow a breaker in the RV, but it can also damage any electrical in the RV.

I have certainly heard your viewpoint. It differs from what we were told as standard operation with the SmartPlug. Our electricity is fully filtered at the house (we are off-grid) though, so less of a risk than at a public campground. Appreciate you sharing your wisdom here; we can all learn from each other’s experiences.
