For folks who may come over here looking - how long are you able to boondock with the Lithionics before having to recharge?

Our experiences (and hopefully most of our videos) show the positive side. Now we have ours back and we’re close to the 1 year mark we’re going to be doing a detailed update on why the AS Interstate is the most amazing camper.

Wanderlocal and Bam Bam Adventures - both have had their fair share of issues, but have some good adventure content too.

I've seen those channels. Unfortunately, they either don't have the E1 package (Bam Bam) or their Interstate is breaking down a lot (Wanderlocal). I just looked at the docs from the repair and it doesn’t say if it is new. My guess is yes, though, based on when the old one made it to Volta, and when the fixed unit made it back to Airstream.

@@SunnyApproach Today I received a letter from Airstream about some Enhancements for Touring coaches with the E1 package. The letter said it was for 2023, 2024, & 2025 year models with the E1. Have you received anything like that and do you know if what you got is the enhancements you received? I posted a copy in the FB Airstream Interstate group and I'm pretty sure your wife is in that as she has mentioned some of your videos.

According to USPS informed delivery we have something from ‘the mothership’ coming today ;-)

One change on the updated Volta system is that it now tells us how long it will take to get to a full charge when it has current coming in. Also seem to be getting more trickle charge for solar than before.

Thanks for remaining positive through your woes! I do think there is light at the end of the tunnel for us, but the wait is excruciating. Our unit is still at the dealership; they installed a new Volta system, but not working 100% yet … the story of our lives. Their warranty disclaims all responsibility for loss of use. The additional insurance (eg GoodSam) does help out if your trip was interrupted but all our problems have been identified at home! We’ll keep sharing what we find out when we get our unit back in the hope that it helps others.

We got our unit back today. Definitely some upgrades to the software. It seems to work as designed. Will get a video up tomorrow with initial impressions.

@@SunnyApproach Thanks for the updates and helpful vids Sunny - I'm not resentful or whiney- doesn't help solve issues (for me anyway). I just look for solutions. I Appreciate seeing others solve problems- and your pragmatic approach to things. When this runs as designed it's F-ing amazing. Insurance is designed to make money, not pay money - anything I receive I'm grateful for. Will continue to follow. Meanwhile - I got a jetboil hehe - amazing unit. I save my Lithium for Starlink as necessary - 8 h run time on a battery - unless it's heating during the rain etc - burns power then. But compared to 10 - 20 y ago - this is amazing. I don't use micro or convection anyway - can wait. Thank you again for your vids.

I love your positive can-do attitude! This is what our channel is about (hence Sunny Approach). Going to be doing some videos soon on the new Starlink mini. Also a 1 year update on ownership. We just returned from an 1100 mile 4-day ‘shakedown’ of the updated Volta. Worked 100% as we would have expected. Letters about the upgrade are also being mailed out to owners. Am so hopeful for all of us because these are terrific ways for solo/dual travelers to enjoy the great outdoors and have flexible living arrangements.

We followed the Gardyn guide as far as thinning goes, “Typically, most fruiting plants & leafy greens should be thinned to 1 plant per yCube, while most herbs & bushy plants such as flowers should be thinned to 3 plants per yCube.” (help.mygardyn.com/en/articles/1771329) - hope this helps, and glad you found our videos helpful!

Ours also is now completely dead. We will do an update video when we get it back. Hopefully this week (they have had it for 3 weeks now). I don’t expect any relief from lemon law statutes on these issues. Maybe a class action lawsuit should there be any lawyer bored enough to pursue Thor / Airstream for selling a system that is clearly not fully tested.

It truly is a pain - we have been without power in the unit multiple times while traveling. This time we decided to let them try and fix it for good before the autumn so we can not worry about it during the better traveling months. There -is- supposed to be a firmware update coming but it has not passed testing yet.

We are in Virginia… if it ever rains and we can get a second cutting this year the plan is to put together some ‘decent’ hay making videos.

When possible we fill up at the truck stops where they have the DEF because it is so much cheaper. A couple of times we’ve had to buy it in the ‘blue def’ boxes 🥶

He is 15 years and walks about 1/2-1mile per hike. Most weeks we walk over 20 miles, and this way he can join us. 🐶💕

@@SunnyApproach my bad, good for you. So many carry or stroller or cart their dogs, and treat them like children rather than the tough little guys they truly are.

@@Mindy-fd9lt We learned he needed more rest time after a 2 mile walk, was lethargic and required a call to his personal vet….. whose advice was ‘No more long walks for him.’ So he gets treated like the prince 👑 and the old Man he is.

I have certainly heard your viewpoint. It differs from what we were told as standard operation with the SmartPlug. Our electricity is fully filtered at the house (we are off-grid) though, so less of a risk than at a public campground. Appreciate you sharing your wisdom here; we can all learn from each other’s experiences.

I would not purchase one right now until the problems are fixed by Airstream / Volta. There are just way too many of us (see Air Forums, UA-cam, Facebook airstream addicts, etc.) with issues with the 2023/2024 models. I am sure they will solve it - but some folks have had very long times without being able to use their rig because of it.

Yes, the silicone ones are very good - and easy to clean too. We bought this one because it is so incredibly light to carry on a backpack.

This particular trail has been around since before the Civil War. I expect that animals have been using the paths that intersect for a very long time too. Some say that many of our highways mirror the ‘megafauna game trails’ or regular ‘game trails’.

We’re working on a new one - maybe our video skills will have improved. No promises!

Only special order items were the self-leveling jacks and the E1 package. Everything else was factory standard.

There is a separate video just on the bed; bear with us, this whole UA-cam thing was very new to us, and we wanted to find some ways to help people see more about the Airstream Interstate than the ‘commercial’.

We’re working on a new, better video, that will also have the benefit of our experience of owning it for 9 months.
