  • In this video we take a look over the home wiring that has gone in to this vehicle to grid trial and what its all for. We also talk about why this wont be needed if this technology ever makes it to market. The Myenergi installation in the home has also come in very useful, whist it also needed adjusting to continue working with the new arrangements.

Hi Ian, thank you, very informative as usual. I'll try to remember not to steal one of your EV's overnight whilst they're charging, it might be a "shocking" experience!! The ultimate deterrent that may be we should all have!! 🤣🤣

Concerned about the 8Kw export ceiling imposed by UKPN - I have same DNO and with high hopes of exceeding 8kwh export - but still planning.

Don’t be too worried, it’s very much down to my local conditions, lots of other homes here with solar also exporting, plus my local transformer is only 200yrds away so a number of factors for them to consider. Why so keen to export though? Most people want to consume as much as they can themselves?

Very interesting and thanks for sharing. As you say an elegant app needed to pull it all together.
Have you considered a Tesla Power Wall to capture your PV energy rather than export at 5.24 p / KWh?
There are cheaper battery packs than the Tesla of course .

Hi thanks! Yes I had but I considered v2g could be better as you essentially get the power wall as part of your car, thus never have the expense of replacing at some stage. However in practice it’s very different, which I’ll probably do another video on at some stage
