Mind sharing the price?

I am also considering a Rio, i've looked at the brochure and the '2' spec which you have does include power folding mirrors. I doubt both motors are broken might be something like a fuse
@darkechokkolatte5584 I will check it out cheers

We have a 2012 Kia Ceed eco dynamics diesel, was our ex company car, just turned 300K regularly serviced, never gave us any trouble, get 65-70 mpg on a run, 50 running around town, just passed MOT with no advisories, we'll keep it until it finally let's go
Daughter was a wedding co ordination in Cyprus and had a picanto woth 350k on running well except zero suspension left
@@volt8684that’s what happens when you load up a little weak car like that…the cars designed to ferry around horse jockeys 😂
Had a 2013 Pro Ceed diesel. Mapped it to 155bhp. Got over 65mpg on the motorway and sold it at 320k. Absolutely bomb proof and it was a giggle to drive to boot.
Weirdly spacious in the back for a three door too.
Good luck with a kia petrol 1.6 to reach 300k
@@Chris-hw4mq read my comment Ceed diesel
That looks more of a 335 than that BMW you had last week!
he does 4-5 videos from that parking lot in a day, thats the fake 335 and the audi he already shot a video on
We all love a Cheapie video 😀😀 Thanks Matt 👍 You could rename the cheap series as "The HazMatt" episodes 😁
A bit of elecrical contact cleaner on the window button and press it a few times and it should be fine.
or just replace usually can get them aftermarket replacements cheap
Matt, you are doing god's work. Every time you save a car like this, there's one more combustion car further up the chain which is available to save some unfortunate punter from going into a franchised dealer and being bullied into wasting their money on electric junk, on the pretext that they can't buy a proper car due to the quota system limit being reached. When the revolution comes, and we get a government which is working for the good of the people, rather than to grind them into the dust, you, and the small number of car dealers like you, will be carried on shoulders through the streets for helping to get us through the dark times.
Love these budget car videos. I hate seeing these cars getting neglected but love seeing them being given another chance
I'm glad you saved that... They're good little cars...
I drive a diesel Rio myself- and gives zero trouble...
As a massive Kia Rio fan (someone has to be) fantastic you saved this one! 🍺🍺🍺
I am binge watching all your videos and just as I ran out of videos a new one comes out. Keep up the good work!
lol same
That car park is missing a Wonder Grip van.
Solid well built motor - very similar to its sister the Hyundai i20.Worth saving despite the previous owner.
Please buy more cheap hatches!
Been subscribed to your channel for a while, keep it up!
Love the Rio. Had an 11 plate 1.4 diesel and managed to average 74mpg on a trip from Swindon to Bristol one sunny day on the M4 🤣
I"m always amazed that he checks carvertical AFTER he bought the car!
Yeah I'm only watching to find the lemon he buys with outstanding finance and wanted in connection with a crime :')
I'm sure that is only for the benefit of the video (and the sponsorship $)...@ 400 quid I'm not sure he'd bother for this one, but for more expensive purchases, my bet is, he does prior to purchase. Cheers!
I'm sure that's just for the benefit of the video and to get the ad in😂
cracking little car, engine's are bullet proof, came up quite nice, did you locate a parcel shelf for it?
I had one of these 1.4 NA13 plate, and it could go and turn corners quickly. ( learnt from my mother)😂 I would recommend. I put 70k without a single issue.
This Kia Rio was totally transformed by a mini valet!!, it just goes to show, never give up on something prematurely.
Great video, as always Matt ❤.
My partner had a 2012 Kia Rio 1.2 Petrol from new up until recently, had no issues with it, only got rid of it as we now have a mobility car.
These are the sort of videos I like Matt, keep them coming. Thanks.
Bought a 1.1 version of these in black 6 years ago and drove it across to Malta when we moved here. It’s honestly been bullet proof, exhaust flow sensor and boot latch only things to have gone wrong in that time. Didn’t supreme me this one too didn’t take much to keep on the road! Not exciting motoring but tough and reliable. Great vid Matt!
Hello Matt, nice looking car saved from the scrap yard. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Ah, I loved my old Rio, same model. Happily have another as a cheap run around.
I bet that's the sort of car you used to dream about when you were first starting out in the motor trade. Desperately needing a clean up, but little mechanical work needed. Quick turnaround and a healthy profit to keep the business ticking over. That should sell quickly because it's so versatile.
Good to see another one saved from the breakers.
Really enjoy the content. Keep up the great work !
Matt can we have a tour around your car graveyard at some point? Think it would be good content
I've got a lot of time for the Kia Rio, after I did 120k miles over 5 years in a 1.1 diesel, to a total mileage of 190k. It was serviced annually, and I kept it immaculate. It did 72mpg, never broke down, and was still running perfectly, (I was going to go for 200k..), but then just fancied a change. Oddly the power fold door mirrors slowly failed on mine, though still adjusted on the switch, which is the main thing really. In a way I miss it, a reliable, pleasant car, but the mk9 Honda Civic I replaced it with is much nicer. So the buyer of your Rio is getting a great little car, look after it, and it'll look after you...
I currently own a 1.1 diesel rio from 2013, its done 100k and im loving every day of it, best first car i could ask for. Do you by chance know what the colour code would be for that drivers door paint fade that Matt’s one suffers with as mine does too, its one of the only things letting it down right now. I feel it necessary to look after it now, as for the last year and a half it has looked after me tremendously. Cheers
@@dezza1268 try what's called a cut and polish first basicly buffing it
A 400 quid rio. I havent watched the video yet but ive a feeling this goes one way.
Why post a comment before watching the video?
Great cheap little car that looks decent, pop in an OEM touch screen and its great!
Same thing with Corsa Ds!
Great video and work as always Matt! :D
had mine for 11yrs loved it . i had one fault in that time . the window washers blocked. mine didn't come with a spare tyre at all
Pizza delivery car 😂
I had the four door pre-facelift model (2013), Automatic.
One of the most reliable cars out there - only thing that went wrong in 70k (km) was a single Ignition coil.
Only bad thing - It was a four speed, and the engine was quite anemic - so that on each gear change you would feel quite a substantial torque drop,
Love the videos, and how honest you are about what you put on the forecourt. Honest and not greedy. Oh, and the sly AlanP references always make me laugh.
Glorious! Great video Matt!
Used to have a 2019 1 Litre 3 cylinder Turbo petrol Rio. It was an absolutely great car. I can't recommend the Rio enough.
Kia Rio is one of those cars that looks like rubbish but is usually ok, and often owned by someone who looked after it
That was another great video, Matt. You really turned that Kia around. I'd definitely buy that myself! Hope you're doing well and keep up the good work.
Great cars! I bought a 2016 1.25l SR7 in 2018 with (I think) 18k on the clock. We've still got it and it's been brilliant - not a single issue. The drive is really good, smooth, and corners well at higher speeds. Great in town, although lacking on power for faster roads but once it's up to speed it's really good. It's very comfortable to sit in, even for long periods and being 6'3". The back seats are surprisingly roomy - I can comfortably ride as a rear seat passenger. Decent boot space for a car of its size. The interior is very good quality - still like new. Any advisories I've had have been tyres close to limit. We love it and, now that my wife is the main user, she refuses to even consider changing it for something with more power.
I wouldn't even hesitate to buy another Kia when we eventually upgrade, although personally I'd love to be in a position to keep it and get a 3rd car.
Rio's are, in general, decent cars. Model is nice. But maintenance is all....
Hey, if you could wrap up your car sale videos by mentioning how long it took to sell and how much you got for it, that'd be awesome. It'd make for a more satisfying watch, you know? Just a thought.
It's no Nissan 100nx though. Is it? 😂
😅😅😅
Really glad you saved it. Great video as always.
I bought a used Kia Rio 2013 petrol with no service history… Since then I have been using it for long daily Uber Eats runs… It’s been flawless, I drive it like a granny and maintain it frequently, I love it.
Picked it up for £1470 on 73K miles! Few dents, no SH, bald tires… Lots of haggling points.
Private sale?
@@ka5269 yes!
I had one exactly like this but blue for my first ever car and keeping for 10 years,no major issues, great cars.
I have a 2015 Rio facelift in "3" trim, the one above this, which is also a 1.4 EcoDynamics diesel. I have had it for just over a year and about 13,000 miles now and it is an absolutely brilliant car. It has great tech for its age, standard sat nav (updatable), reversing camera, DAB radio, heated seats and more. It regularly gets 65-70mpg on a run and does about 50mpg round town, I couldn't ask for anything more.
I have a 2014 1.1 diesel Kia Rio vr7, such a good car definitely the most cost effective car by far all things considered
Good job, Matt 👍
Having lived in Holland and Spain car mileages are less of a concern there. Many cars well over 200k kilometres and still running. In the uk we are hung up on the 100k. If cars are maintained they are all capable of serious mileage. Freddie dobbs on here has a 1.2 fiat 500 with 230k miles. It’s been spent on but nowhere near as much as a replacement. Love these oldy vlogs
5:53 I know exactly what you mean with that smell. Best way to get rid of it is get some charcoal, put it in a bag and leave it in the car for a long time and it somehow absorbs the smell
If you just want a cheap run around, then you can't beat these. (£2000 for an advisory free car, with low tax and insurance and cheap maintenance is a bargain)
Matt, you should wear a Tyvek onesie for these sorts of cars. That white jumper will never be the same again, just as well it is a Hilfiger, nothing much to worry about, stylewise! KIA always good cars though. Good video. Hope the owner is watching and listening to your "observations" about the state of the car.
Great video as always Matt.... Think you missed doing the wheels and tyres as they look new... Hope there still something in it for you 👍
In Serbia, the most popular tire brand are Tiger (Tigar) tires.
It's always a good everning, when Matt pops up with a new Vid...
Great work matey!!!
I got a blue Rio 3 1.4 petrol earlier this year and it has a couple of faults; pressing the indicator and electric window at the same time has given me a similar issue, there's some wear and tear marks for a 12 year old car which can all be sorted in the future, but I love it for my first car its brilliant and its alloys makes it stand out amongst the dreary corsas and fiestas of everyone else 😅
You did the right thing saving it. My sister-in-law has a 2011 Kia Venga with the same diesel engine and the 6-speed manual. It's a bit gutless (she lives in the mountains), but really well-equipped, comfortable and quiet. You can drive all day down the motorways with no effort at all. I told her to keep it till it gave up the ghost. Why change?
nice one matt, another saved, will be ideal for a 1st car for someone.
awesome video gad to see another car saved and an opportnity for somebody struggeling with money to have a car
Had one of these for a while , a 1.2 petrol, not a bad car really , very cheap to run and repair , easy enough to work on aswell
great stuff see sometimes when you first look and you say oh well i may have got it wrong this time lol like nearly every car you got it spot on ❤
🤣 Tommy hillfinger jumper.ya got me..subscribed.cheers from st helens
Nice rescue, Matt 👍
Nice one Matt, another one saved.
Great transformation. And just getting rid of that Transformer badge on the boot lid probably increased the value a few quid.
Great video. Well done for saving it. I’d much rather have that than any EV anyway!
Clutch master cylinder renown for trouble on these
Kias are usually well maintained just to keep the warranty, at least for 7 years which is when the warranty runs out, generally they are very reliable so this was good bet.
Another good video Matt 🚗🚙🚘👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Brilliant matt
A nice honest little runaround saved from the crushers. I'd be well happy nabbing that for £400 and getting it in order for £1000 all in! 🙂
Another one that dodged the scrap yard looked nice after you had it cleaned certainly worth saving glad the gear change issue was a myth
Matt! When you drop off a REALLY filthy car for a mini valet, you could offer an extra tenner. That might help.
Loved it. “The oil isn’t too gloopy” as it leaves a shape as solid as a baked meringue. 😂
Hi Matt, well done saving the car world one car at a time. Why haven’t I seen one Subaru on here or am I having a man look or don’t they sell in the UK?
I had got used to using your videos to work out the day of the week. New Year's day I could handle, but now I am lost. I think it's Friday.
Nice save, firget the environonse evs, keeping this on the road is far better
My mrs has had the 1.2 diesel VT7 Rio. It's a 2014, been a good car from brand new, and she uses hers for work. 129k on the clock so far.
A Just Eat delivery mobile all day long
Good turnaround.
Is wheel bearingy rumble the technical term 😂 Great turnaround on the kia. Love it when you expect the worst and it turns out to be a good car 😃
Not a bad little run around for someone ❤
wasn't even going to watch but brilliant way turned out.lovely little runabout now
Nice turn around for a thousand pounds 😮 Such a transformation after just a mini-valet! Incredible 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good save, decent little car
Hey Matt - maybe I’ve missed it, but why no more videos from the car park with the Wonder Grip van? It might not be glam but it’s a bit better than your waiting room for the scrappers!
Good to see you're still making silk purses out of sow's ears. As you say, it's a cheap runaround for a couple of years.
I like that the new stock is dropped at the HPA scrapyard. Saves petrol I suppose driving down there
Just got my daughter one when she finished uni, its a cracking little car, its the 1.1diesel (it would struggle to pull you out of bed mind) on a 13 plate uses next to no fuel and is free to tax. But oddly even with it being free to tax so you would assume its in low emissions bracket falls shy of the Bristol clean air charge, ask my daughter how she found that out, oh and who paid that fine (bank of dad again). Can't see her going back down to Bristol again any time soon!!
'Right well we're here' I say this all the time now whenever I get somewhere.
Hi Matt. Looking at some comments. Do a "Road Trip" back to Sweden. Sell it there and you will get your plane fare home and still have a profit. 👍👍
9:21 The amount of chuckles I’ve had from the Tommy Hillfinger joke is ridiculous.
TBH, I didn’t realise anyone else used it.
I almost posted it on your last vid but thought, nooo, you’re way too old.
Meaning me. 🤣
A 2014 Kia Rio for only £400 ? Man.. That car has had a hard life.
In my country this car can sell easy for 4500-5000€
On mine it's around 7 to 8k...
2013 actually
@@AK.2425 Don't care. Matt said 2014 in the video so I'm going with that.
@@davidbillberg2203 he said he misheard it, and the car is actually a 2013 1:30
Wow, surprised someone will mechanically spend money but not even a taken through a car wash. My initial thought was yes, scrap it, but what a difference the mini valet made.Great you saved another car too.
matt the window and powerfold mirrors n/w might just be a knackered window switch in the door?
Bravo - they are decent little cars and better looking than their competitors. £2k get you a couple of years very cheap motoring.
This is great car!
Hi Matt, looks like your Rio has been used as a Take a way vehicle. Any menues inside ?🙂
Must admit, bit of a surprise ending. To be honest, if I owned a sub-compact hatchback or sedan with just a tick under 150,000 miles on the odometer.... I'd buy a new car too (assuming one can afford doing so). At that mileage with an economy vehicle, previous owner probably thought it was on its last legs.
Getting it fixed up would be less expensive than buying a new car. But then you're always goung to wonder what's going to breakdown next, and when? Likely soon. So, why bother. Just get a new one and enjoy zero headaches for the next couple of years.
