Great get out clause, applies to nearly every car, vws burning oil, corsa chains, insignia oil pick ups, ecoboost, puretech, absolutely every make has a know fault these days, I've not done 3rd party warranties for years, all it does is cause bad feeling when they don't pay up and you end up paying, I just sort it if someone comes back, just doing an injector now, 220 for injector and that will sort it. If that had gone to another garage they'd have been quoting 4 new injectors, say 1600 all in, warranty wouldn't pay and I'd be on the hook, instead I get the car back in and sort it.

Roll on a couple of months the cars broken down with a misfire not electrical issue ruled out swapped injectors about advice given enfgine swsp its probably a piston ring gone just hope thst warranty we got with the car is worth the paper its written on, if its a new motor required then no foubt there will be a payment to be made on s betterment basis ie new engine in old car we shall see i have an idea its not worth doing on a £5-6k car.
So for us no more puretech more goes wrong than just cam belts.
Guy came from London on the train last week, picked him up at Wakefield, cost 41 quid, maybe 300 was a bit generous bud?
Great content, 👍
Shouldnt have mentioned about a compromise with the warranty company, they see this vid and they'll use it, if it turns out they have got to cover it.
So he was in negative equity then decided to buy another car. He then had to spend £1600 on that car for a new belt and service and then decided to sell this one trade and bought a Skoda? Guy must have (borrowed) money to burn?
Personally I wouldn't touch a car with the Puretech engine with a bargepole.
Agreed, let's hope it's OK for James and it's not just another story, must be a reason to go skoda.
Same as wet belt engines avoid
@@johnfitton3716 I don't buy em bud, why risk it?
I sold a car after only 400 miles/couple of months, it was a year old and the dealer damaged the car and there were a series of problems. I lost confidence in the car and the dealer. Lost a fortune but for me the stress and unpleasentness was awful and life is too short. I think this owner had a very bad experience and did similar, the right decision for him also.
Reupload?
Nice 👍
Its a bit a nuisance really, my drives an automatic, so now searching for newer car, I've now got to avoid a cvt then?
Even one of the more reliable brands Suzuki are mostly cvt now. Therefore buying even a fairly late ish one without manufacturers warranty is not worth the risk. I always thought that Warrantwise were among the better ines😂
I think they are
when i sold cars for a loving the warranty wasn’t worth the paper it was written on.
All insurance, car, home, life, etc, are a rip-off. The insurance company will do anything it can NOT to pay out on a claim.
That laptop needs a clean!
Always check before signing and see what has been done or should of been done. Main dealers at present are the worst ones to deal with at present. Will never use my Vauxhall main dealer for a car.
That's mad. So he does a deal based on getting a car with a FSH that has been serviced, it turns out the dealer does not hold up their end of the bargain and then they have the cheek to say that they won't do warranty repairs because it doesn't have the service history that THEY told him it did and he bought the car based on that? Does he not have a case against them???
You certainly wouldn't get that sort of service from Chops!
Normal warranty claptrap ..warranty wise or warranty direct all do it....well look a car has a engine and gear box ... not covered ...may as well just put that in the list
To certain extent
Good video, but please get a dead cat for the microphone
What is it with Peugeot not getting the eye line comfortable between the steering wheel and the clocks.....its god awful.
Found the last five minutes then. 👍
You are truly killing it. Can’t wait for the next drop!
Good bot.
Should have looked at the service history before buying the car.
Should of gone to Peugeot uk and kicked off about it
Notice the clause with WW that a cars got to be in the customers name bud on the v5, just sayin.....
Lol , well can't claim within 30 days anyhow mate
@@ChopsGarageyes bud, ha, ha.
@@ChopsGarageI had 3 complaints on Saturday bud, gave me a right headache, I was totally depressed.
Why would you even continue collecting the car after they said they misplaced the history 🥴. I went with a friend to Grimsby a 5 hour each way trip. We got there and a 4 year old car sold as full history only had 1 service. We walked away and drove back as you’ll always have warranty issues. Simple. Don’t get bullied into buying it
Why didn’t the chap return the car as the car wasn’t as described? Trading standards would have a field day because it didn’t meet consumer rights.
Well not if he was told at pick up but still took it away
@@ChopsGarageI seem to remember you saying a car could be returned to the dealer for any reason subject to a certain timescale?
The puretech engines seem to be gaining on the ecoboom for the premature failure award
Personally I think you get preferential treatment from WW thanks to your channel James. If I was in that position I would have written a letter before action then small claims for the whole lot - see what a judge would say to their ridiculous terms.
Not my channel mate but my spend. They totally up my spend on policies and see if they pay out they are still in profit
@@ChopsGarage Ah I see - makes sense for them but wouldn't apply to a private punter
Warranty wise are scammers, virtually everything is excluded.
1600 belt and brakes 😮😮😮
thats dealer price for you i know someone where she went to ford and got charged £300 to fit a new battery on a ford kuga
And then sell it???
@@bigdude8470 people do that. Get stung with a car and then lose faith in it. Even though they've just had the hugely expensive problem fixed.
I had a crossland 1.2 puretech 71 plate cam belt full of cracks dealership said it’s bad needs changing they had it in them said can’t do it under warranty I paid then complained to Vauxhall who then refunded me ,but over all it was a terrible car I had it 3 months then dropped it like a hot potato not 3 years old and it drove like it was 20 years old awful
"A proper full blown chopper"
That's not very nice 🤣
Why?
Ref Peugeot dealer. They are not known as "main stealers" for nothing. I've only found 1 honda dealer to be ok in many years of owning cars. Better to try and find a good independant
Just goes to show that even top level car warranty policies aren't worth the paper they are written on James. The £2500 paid is still a £2000 loss for you.
True plus transport
30,000 miles and needs new belt no way should last at least 90,000 ,is a wet belt?
Yep
I've had 2 cars with puretech engines and 2 with Ecoboosts. Both engines were excellent. Usually the moaners "know all, know nowt" brigade have never had them.
Yep same thing. Good care and frequent use
Agree people buy these cars then abuse them then complain when they go wrong
They haven't had them because they know not to! Fords ecoboost even made it on the BBC one show, now you won't get on there with just a "few" owner problems. They are dog shit engines. That's great you haven't had any problems and if buying from new I'd have some confidence, no way would I trust a second hand one....
Peugeot stealer behaviour a disgrace. Should have rejected the car for breach of contract.
Get back to manufactures see if it’s known fault which it isn’t get paperwork stating that see if warranty people want to get in a court case with them don’t settle for half the money no matter how they treated you in the past
Good call
WW have shot themselves in the foot bud, I bet every car dealer in the country watches you, they'll all be reluctant to do WW warranty now, if they'd have paid you full money, what a good advertsment for them, for the sake of 2k I bet it costs them dear, also customers you've got a big following, once they knew it was you they should have settled in full.
That was my thoughts I mean these companies pay creators £600 to a grand a video for ads so this seemed bargain for good advert
@@ChopsGarage don't cross big James, eh mate!
@@ChopsGarage it's basically a ponzi scheme really bud, just giving you your own money back, but making sure they're in front, if you'd have put your warranty money into gold over this last few years you'd have done 25% profit, or put it into shares, anything rather than warranty companies.
My 2017 Peuget 308 SW 1.2 puretech runs like a dream. Annual main dealer service, correct oil, belt after 7 years. Belt kit and service less than 500 quid at Peugeot
Warranty wise taking the absolute mic, used them in the past. Pointless paper waste.
All car faults are defects , if it was know there would have been a recall.
Some things are expected to wear out
This is exactly why I hate all insurance companies, they are all gobshites who will wriggle out of paying on any technicality every time. What's the point of it if you are not fully covered?
Tits n bits 😂😂😂.. another cracking vid ❤
Cheers
Way to go Peugeot garage, bum a good customer you'll never see again. And he'll tell everyone of his mates & the story will get passed on hoe dodgy you are - great business model, well worth it 🤦
A nightmare for you
You might feel better going in at low p ex bids bud, but you might not sell anything, so ignore me, ha, ha.
Lol
Why do people buy these!? 38k? Utter 💩
Puretech awful wet belt
'Train station' is an American term,we call them railway stations.
He’s back on the train laughing his bollox off
Ok
