    So I wondered if this cheese was going to taste like coconut because of the coconut cream, lol. I just made it at 5:15 this morning because I couldn’t sleep and saw this video, so I started craving cheese, lol, especially one that looked so quick and easy to make. Of course I tweak every recipe I make, so I adjusted the seasonings to suit my taste. I increased the nooch to 4 tbsps for even more cheesy flavor, decreased the garlic powder to 2 tsps because it’s pretty strong, doubled the salt to 1 tsp, added 1 tsp of wood ear mushroom powder for more umami (but a ground up mushroom bouillon cube or 1 tsp of shiitake powder would work amazing too), added 1 tsp dried chives and finally 1/4 tsp of gochugaru (sweet Korean chili powder) for a very mild kick. I know that’s a lot of tweaking, but those are the flavors I personally love, and this is an excellent recipe to adjust the seasonings as it’s so incredibly versatile. I tasted as I went, so I can definitely tell you that this tastes only cheesy and delicious; you DO NOT taste the coconut flavor at all!! I also very lightly sprayed my round glass food container with a teensy bit of olive oil before scooping the cheese into it to help me un-mold the cheese later, even though it may not have really needed that, the cheese was so pliable, but I just wanted to make it as easy as possible later. It’s chilling right now in the very back, coldest part of my frig, and I simply can’t wait to enjoy it in a few hours! Thank you so much for sharing this great recipe, and for doing what you do!😁😁😁

    Dear Kemion, I'm over the moon with this recipe and thank you from the bottom of my heart :) with a vegan diet, I miss cheese so much. I've tried a lot of recipes in the last few months, yours comes closest to real dairy cheese. I find the ones using agar agar too jelly like, the other ones so far also not fatty enough. So thank you again for sharing your passion with us, you've made someone across the globe really really happy :) whole lotta love from Croatia

    Thanks for the recipe, I love how it has some holes in there too! 😍It would definitely benefit from addition of some apple cider vinegar in my opinion to get that tangy cheese flavour in combination with nutritional yeast. And a tip for making it easier to mix while it's heating in the pan - use a whisk, it makes it a breeze to combine and make it smooth!

    This recipe is amazing =O I made this a week ago but perhaps I didn't get all the measurements right bc it was very thick yet very moist and still after a week in the fridge kinda soft on the inside. I added some ingredients for taste and it is soooo good. I'll leave it be for another week and let it dry more. I can't wait bc it really is like an actual dairy cheese as I remember them. I've been vegan for 9 yrs, maybe i don't recall the taste so well anymore lol but this is it what I've been looking for, TY so much! I'm going to make another one soon so I'll have it ready after I've finished the first one =)

      Gluten-Free Plantaste can I ask do you mean the runner coconut cream milk rather rather than the coconut milk ? And how long does this last after making please ? X

      Also does it melt if I make a toasted melt sandwich 🥪?

    • @GlutenFreePlantaste
      @GlutenFreePlantaste  4 роки тому +1

      @@zukiebabes3285 I used the cream only. If you buy a full fat tin of coconut milk most will have the cream separated from the water. It should last for more than a week. Keep it wrapped because it will dry out in the fridge if uncovered.

    In all honesty what does it taste like??

    • @egris00
      @egris00 Рік тому

      From vegan cheeses I've tried, I'd guess this one would taste cheesy (due to nutritional yeast) and creamy due to coconut cream.

    I want to support you, but you've got to post the recipe, your link doesn't work. when you are talking about the ingredients, you can say how much you are using. I'm not sure how your other viewer can make this? if anyone has a list can you share?
