St Enoch and St Elijah Monastery (SEASEM)

SEASEM is a small community of baptised Oriental Orthodox living the contemplative life in a Christian ecumenical monastery. We are spiritually fed by Jesus’ witness of union with God - theosis - and a reflection of this perfection in the lives of Christian saints. We believe in one Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We honour Mary, the Theotokos, the Mother of God, a saint and monk in her purity of faith for God’s will. We live a liturgical life of prayer centred on Christ the Word in the manner of the monastic desert monks and nuns, and the Orthodox tradition of the direct experience of God. We welcome retreatants and volunteers, and other Christians wishing to try out for this culture of monastic calling in our community.
