Thanks Simon. I had my first day with a fly rod today, out at my local stocked lake. Didn't get a nibble, but this video was great insight into what I can change next time. Cheers!
Great video. Thanks for this one... I'm looking forward to using what I've learnt from your videos. When are the next ones being dropped to the channel?
Thanks for your comment. I'm delighted you enjoyed the series so far and are looking for more. We have three seasons filmed and on the Far Bank UA-cam channel, so if you haven't seen all 18 episodes, check those out. If you have and are still looking for more, you might have to wait a while as we don't have season 4 filmed yet. If we film that next summer, then the series wouldn't be available until the following spring. I will be uploading season 2 and 3 to my channel here in the next couple of weeks😄
I didn't realise you had another channel. I've subscribed and will catch up on all episodes. I'm fairly new to fly fishing. Had some lessons a few years ago. Now fly fish once a year at Meon Springs in Hampshire with a couple of ex work colleagues who have retired. They are instructing me and loan me some gear. I'm at the point that I want to buy my own gear, not too expensive and fly fish 3 or 4 times a year. I've been looking at various You Tube channels but your videos are by far the best.. Thanks.
@@dangreasley7934 The other channel is the one put out by the company I work for, so is ore up to date. I just add the videos I have made for them with their permission. I hope all goes well in your fly fishing career. I haven't fished Meon, but have fished a number of lakes and rivers in Hampshire - very pretty part of the world! If you are looking for a starter kit for lake fishing, I'd suggest going with a 6wt rod, around 9' 6" in length. You won't go far wrong with that size of an outfit. Best of luck with it all.
So sorry about the delay in replying, but somehow I totally missed your message and comment. I was in Washington, but have recently moved back to the UK, which is probably a bit far for you to join me :) I do teach a few schools in the US for Fly Water Travel, but we don't have any lake ones scheduled at all. Maybe something to consider for next year...

Sorry you didn't get anything this time, but hope your luck changes for the next. Thanks for commenting, and I'm glad the video gave you a few ideas.
