Yeah I got hit in the driver's door when I had a Neon. I remembered the 2 1/2 star rating I pulled myself towards the passenger seat before the impact. Flew back and my head went through the glass in my door. And yet, right where I was sitting before I moved was now door. Not any seat, just door. Seriously, take these safety ratings like your life depends on them because they do.
My buddy drives the hotrod version of the neon (it's a srt-4) he got hit in the side and it damn near ripped the car in half and that's with a roll cage installed in the car
Damn. I drive a 2003 Sonata. I saw the side-impact test on the official IIHS website (in addition to this frontal crash), and holy hell I hope I never get into an accident. I wish I could afford a new vehicle.
Safety and durability have both gone up significantly in all F series trucks since the model year of that test. Also, best selling pickups 50 years and running, so yeah... guess we'll wait and see if GM or Fiat can ever play catch up. I'm still laughing at how GM failed with the aluminum body trucks 30 years ago and Ford just made a success of it.
How long that model of Truck is in production is irrelevant, we aren't comparing a modern European truck to a 25 year old F-150, this was a modern F-150(at the time) and as such should be held to the same standard as everyone else and it failed fucking miserably! If we apply your logic, a 2017 Toyota Hilux should be terrible in a crash test simply because the model has existed for 20 years.
@@daltonhill5110 That's because the purpose of a car in a crash is to save you, the driver, not the car itself. Modern cars with crumple zones absorb the impact. Older, stiff cars with no crumple zones transfer the impact into you, the driver.

Vans are the most dangerous cars in existence . That is because those type of people can´t drive. The typical used Van driver lets trash lay around in his vehicle, never cleans it, has squeaking rusty brakes , very slim tires with low grip and usually also is overweight or homeless. to Top it of they always change lane rather randomly and dont adjust to the speed on the left lane.

They did a test on a 1959 Impala. Pretty much puts to rest the assertion that older, bigger, full frame metal cars are safer than the modern small plastic one they crashed it into.
My remark was sarcastic. Here we have footage of old cars, yet people in the comments react as though it is somehow a reflection on the industry, presumably modern day.
+To Seize the Means of Production also, its why I don't drive a nineties vehicle, that decade took a shit on vehicles, it's why I drive a 1986 Chevrolet C10 and my modern vehicle is a 2005 Ford F-150 4x4 and my car is a 1965 Ford Mustang with a two barrel 289 V8, so yeah.
I drive a '94 F-150. The F-150 shown here is a '01. 1992-1997 were completely different designs (including much of the frame) from 1998-2003 models. That proves the video isn't 100% accurate, and so therefore I'ma just say that my '94 is safer than that 2001!
B0SSNINE actually the OBS style was used in 97 on f350's only. For f150's it was 92-96. They quit making the bronco in 96 because they didn't want to have to redesign it with their new frame design because it wasn't worth it for how many people bought it in the past. And I'm 97 the f250 looked just like the f150 but ford changed that in 98. Anyway, 97-06 f150's had that style although it changed a little in 03. The point is, the frame in 96 and earlier was much stronger than 97-06. So this video is completely incorrect when it says 92-06.
Holy wow, the Previa's steering wheel literally impaled the dummy's head as it was driven up into the ceiling during the crash. The poor seatbelt design left the dummy in a reclining position.
I crashed a Ford Taurus head on into a tree at 65mph and shattered my hip/pelvis snapped my femur in half and collapsed a lung just watching these brings make horrible memories of my accident
Great my car is on this list, now every time I’ll drive the back of my mind will be thinking, “if you lose control and hit anything *you* *are* *screwed!“*
Especially one being driven by an arrogant, drunk 16-year-old who hits and kills your wife and unborn child, only to then get off with no punishment aside from 50 hours of community service and having his license suspended for 6 months.
cschnipke279 I live in Germany BMW drivers including myself always use the blinker and drive very civilized . The immigrants driving BMWs here though.. THEY dont. haha
We had a 1991 Previa, what a great van it was, but sadly even my parents had no idea what an unsafe car it was. Thankfully we never got into a bad wreck in it!
Here is the perfect ad for a car company: Crash test with the CEO in the drivers seat instead of a dummy. You say your cars are safe, right? I would do it if I had true confidence in the safety of what my company is building.
I do not understand the point of crashing these vehicles into solid concrete. If you find yourself crashing into a solid brick wall, the last thing you should be worried about is the safety of your vehicle XD

I know somebody who got in a crash with a GMC Jimmy recently, it looks almost exactly like it did at 3:38, but he walked away from it so...
They way that F150 was folding I thought I was gonna hear Scottish music
I knew that ford was weak!
Ok, so you'll address the one Ford that did poorly rather than the 3 GM's? Whatever you say bub
That’s literally an 18 year old car. They’ve gotten way safer over the years.
Not a single one was German
Duh
Garry Reyom or swedish or italian or european at all
99Lezard99 Lololol that's why American cars are cheap af
+To Seize the Means of Production 65k for a Silverado isn't cheap, lol.
+To Seize the Means of Production also, its why I don't drive a nineties vehicle, that decade took a shit on vehicles, it's why I drive a 1986 Chevrolet C10 and my modern vehicle is a 2005 Ford F-150 4x4 and my car is a 1965 Ford Mustang with a two barrel 289 V8, so yeah.
the blazer crash looked like an action scene
gives found on road dead a whole new meaning
So this video is completely incorrect when it says 92-06.
still same shit
Try the same thing on your F-150 to find out. It'll crumple just the same.
Be awesome to see a Chevy Corvair tested at the end of this...
Wow Thank God I Don't Own None Of These Cars😱
2:40 *1997-2003 Ford f150
My friend had a Blazer, he told me he never rode the thing on the highway. Now i know why.
Well, at 65 MPH hitting a tree I don't think it would have mattered what you were driving. You're going to get seriously hurt.
Thank fucking god you made it.
Great my car is on this list, now every time I’ll drive the back of my mind will be thinking, “if you lose control and hit anything *you* *are* *screwed!“*
ikr i need to stop watching these videos they scare me too much
Ford F Series, Blazer/Jimmy, s 10, Honda / Isuzu were all scary. Rest were no worse than other cars from the era
Holy crap...Look at that F150.
Having the Chevy Blazer/GMC Jimmy and the Chevy S10/GMC Sonoma in the same list is repetitive; they're the same vehicle.
Nick Caldwell I was thinking the same thing.
How its windscreen survived?! Amazing!
It´s not the same... weight is different, the structural capacity is different... definitely it´s not the same vehicle.
Angel Martínez and it's still crap
i flipped a 94 Sonoma when i was 16 with 2 people sitting in the back, lucky nobody was killed. worst that happened was a broken shoulder
2:48 RIP
a Toyota ran into the side of my 1979 ford Ltd, Toyota total loss.Ltd drove on to work
And the chassis of the Ford F150 is off the floor Known as the structure
Oh, so basically my blazer, the car I use as my daily and haul my kids around in, is a souped-up soda can on wheels. Cool. *Lists on Craigslist*
2:48 - 5:02, Nothing of value was lost.
The number of gigantic pick ups driving around carrying only one person w nothing in their bed is fucking disgusting.
Especially one being driven by an arrogant, drunk 16-year-old who hits and kills your wife and unborn child, only to then get off with no punishment aside from 50 hours of community service and having his license suspended for 6 months.
and to avoid that happening we smart people drive BMW
cschnipke279 I live in Germany BMW drivers including myself always use the blinker and drive very civilized . The immigrants driving BMWs here though.. THEY dont. haha
cschnipke279 lol okay merica ! hahaha
We had a 1991 Previa, what a great van it was, but sadly even my parents had no idea what an unsafe car it was. Thankfully we never got into a bad wreck in it!
Very lucky family for yal
Oh I just realized the one shown in this video had airbags but ours didn’t!
@@jordanjazz821 :0
murican quality
Surpasses European quality whether you like it or not. Sincerely, a European who lives in the EU.
Considering General Motors and Ford own a good portion of the European car companies, and Chrysler is owned by Fiat. I'd say we're even in the quality
DesertStateinEu Well i dont see a german car brand in there ...
Non of the german brands are related to Gm or Ford.
lol Yes actually I am.
I'm kinda worried now because I have a 99 F-150 and that crash test was crucial !
It's amazing comparing these to the 2017 Mercedes e class. That thing takes these crashes like it's going 5 miles an hour. Amazing engineering.
Ikr
You realize you are comparing a much safer, newer car, compared to older, unsafer cars?
I surprised not to see the Chevy caviler (side impact crash test) and the Chevy Astro on here.
roguedogx Cavalier side impact was on it, near the end
Was the block crash tested with the beast? :D
damn, Ive been driving a 99 regular cab s10 for years...watching this makes me wanna upgrade my brakes and get some sticky tires lol
Here is the perfect ad for a car company: Crash test with the CEO in the drivers seat instead of a dummy. You say your cars are safe, right? I would do it if I had true confidence in the safety of what my company is building.
Am I the only one who likes when the horn is continuously blasting after the crash?
oh my gosh oh my gosh..¨Made in Murica"
i own a trans sport, dodge “Rammed” into my front nearly at top speed, nobody got injured.
All of them are either American or Korean LOL
Ridealong 🇩🇪 🇩🇪 🇩🇪 ❤️
I own a 2001 Ford F-150.
*Oh shit.*
So I have a 98 f150. it is the three door. Would that be better with the extra pillar?
Dodge neon. Wow. I think the dummy reached out to grab the engine
2:47 his face was stuck to the horn😑
Lol
Lol
I do not understand the point of crashing these vehicles into solid concrete. If you find yourself crashing into a solid brick wall, the last thing you should be worried about is the safety of your vehicle XD
It is a crushable barrier not concrete. It is supposed to simulate drifting into the other land and hitting a car offset
what i got from this video was that cars pre 2005 were essentially death traps
The F150 is a coffin on wheels
