How to Catch a Quahog
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 лис 2022
- Jody is the last of a dying breed- clawing quahogs out of the mud with nothing more than a rake, a rope, and a small boat.
But for Jody, clamming is much more than just earning a living.
He’s using it to bring his community together
and building a better future for us all.
_____
America is full of ordinary people who wake up every morning to fight for a better world.
They’re not rich.
They’re not famous.
They’re America’s UNSUNG HEROES.
These are their stories.

Oh I loved that! Jody and how he respected his work, wife, community and his dreams. The filming and story line was superb! Really made me happy to watch. Thank you!
Thank you, Patti!
I just started clamming recreationally for the first time this week, a whole new respect was earned for the hobby. Its tiring and worth while.
I agree! I was stunned at how fit Jody is...
Dearest Karin, Jody's sure done a lot to bring joy to so many, many people. He added "tears of joy" for me. Karin, Thank you so very much for posting this awesome video. Hey brother So So SUPER sorry for your loss. MY brother live in Portsmouth and i live in Warren and I will get to see him later today. We grew up in Portsmouth in Islandpark Mom had six of us by the time she was twenty five we were very poor but ages seven to ten every day in summer as a ringer or picker. Came home everyday with forty to eighty buck's that guy realy helped my family with that job.those were the three best summers of my life
I'll let Jody know - he'll be thrilled to read your kind comment!
Wonderful video, broke my heart though when you talked about your brother. My daughter, Lisabeth was working the E.D. that night and cared for him at Mass. General. She was the BEST and he received superb and gentle care...please be assured. Now, SHE is with him in heaven....we lost her recently to asthma...she was THE BEST R.N., human and my beloved child. I miss her terribly. May her memory be eternal.
I'll tell Jody to look at the comments - he'll be absolutely thrilled and touched by what you wrote. Thank you. THANK YOU!
I really enjoyed quahoging growing on the Cape!!

He is completely genuine and beloved by his community. Thank you for your kind comment, Bruce.
Karin, Another great human interest story from the USA ending with the DJI drone video. I liked that one view that flew over Jody's boat and panned upward to see the city in the background. 🎥
Keep up your great work and we'll see you back home soon. 🏄♀
Thank you, Steve!

Haha Thank you! Landing the drone on that small boat in a substantial, gusty wind when I was finished was nerve-wracking...
This was damn satisfying to watch
Aaaaah - you just made my day. Thank you, FauxVier!

What a great man he was. ..
61! Man is a beast!
Rhode Islanders: Qwaah-hawg
Tourists: Kowe-hog.
100 nails running down the chalkboard.
As part of my fact checking asked Jody - the quahogger in the video - how to say it correctly. I suspect that both pronunciations are now accepted within the community.
61 years old & still health as an ox
Dudes are making big money
Peter, Lois, Chris, shut up Meg, and Stewie!!!
I’m no fan of anyone bulk harvesting and making money off what’s meant for all of us to enjoy.
