- This video tutorial shows you a simple way to auto remove silence from video by using the free and open source video editor Olive.

I walk the walk and this video was cut down by removing silence with Olive before importing into Davinci resolve. I am sorry if I went a little hard on the silence removal as I'm eating a few words throughout the video.
The video was further color improved by using PerfectColor.

Mine doesn't look like yours and I can't drag anything in. I finally imported my file in and it's asking about sequences and things that I have no idea about. I wish this tutorial had been useful from a first time user standpoint... the program looks nothing like what you show upon using it for the first time.

It is important that you rather choose the "Olive 0.1 (Unsupported)" version, as the newer versions don't have the necessary functionality.
It works for me, surprisingly it reduces the manual cutting time, but there is a minus point that it does not delete all the silent areas at once, but has to be removed manually.
Agreed! There are paid alternatives, but I would really like a free software that removes both the silence and the "uh" sounds automatically.
Any way for it to auto cut them off of the video itself so each clip doesn't have to be dragged over & Deleted after auto slice?? I have Carpel tunnel & Need this.
Unfortunately not: The tool can find empty areas automatically, but you still need to manually delete them 😂

I have not looked into the quality that is supported by Olive. Is the output quality poor even if the input is high res?

unfortunately olive 0.1 is quite bad, i can't even do anything, it doesn't respond to my actions, it laggs alot. I downloaded everything correctly... The 0.2 version works better but i do not see the auto silence remover...
I agree that Olive 0.1 is not a complete tool, it's buggy, but still free. I combine the cut silence feature in Olive with Davinci Resolve. The 0.2 version removed the auto silence feature 😂
It only find silence. Remove must manualy?
Yes, Olive is only able to detect the silent regions and you must manually ripple delete the regions you want, one at a time.

I am not the developer of Olive, but are you unable to start the software at all or unable to use the silence searching tools of Olive? If it is the latter you are probably using the wrong version; It should be 0.1 (unsupported) for it to work.

Scroll to the bottom of the download section and you will find it.
its fake video, In the 0.2 version no auto silence remover feature, even after right click.
I just reinstalled Olive 0.1 and it is still working fine to me.
