I am glad you talked about goldfish in this video. I was raised around goldfish since I was growing up with my parents. We had all types of goldfish in our 50 gallon tank and took them out in my family's pond near the Spring time! It was beautiful to see them enjoy swimming and eating in the pond. We would have a spawn of babies which accumulate us having more little ones with the big goldfish that got bigger! Goldfish do require alot of maintenance. My parents love taking care of them and they were relaxing to watch.
Thank you for this. You helped me decide. I was thinking about getting a single goldfish, but realize now I don't want a tank large enough to accommodate its needs. And I definitely don't want to mistreat any little creature. :)
Exactly!! I won one at a carnival and everyone told me it would be dead the next day. But I bought the tank and filter and all the equipment for it. I even bought a female companion for it. Guess what! It lives for 2 years! So these goldfish can live for a long time if you do it right
I’ve had my goldfish for about 2 years now and man did I not realise the amount of work that goes into keeping them. I love my two goldfish Ghost and Goblin, white fantail and black Oranda. But boy they are a handful.
That’s awesome to hear! Have two in an indoor pond set up. They were termite when I got them. Probably about 4 inches now and they let me pet them (of course I’m very careful and don’t do this often). But won’t let anyone near them. They are my little water puppies. Hope they live a long long time. Gonna do my best for them.❤
they poop a lot, release a lot of ammonia, they suck in flakes too efficiently for other tank mates to compete. They grow fast. Advice: do not mix with other fish (other than a gulper catfish)

Thank you for this video. I had wanted to get a single fancy goldfish for my 13 gallon tank, but now I might get a larger, 20 gallon tank since I realize that this tank is too small to keep them healthy.
I rescued a goldfish today. Someone left a tiny tank outside in extremely dirty water. I saw that 2 were dead, and 1 was barely alive. I couldn't abandon it after seeing the condition of the water. I know nothing about fish, as I'm more of a dog/cat type person, but I ran to Walmart, and got a beginner tank for now. Welp...she looks much better. Glad she didn't die, cuz lord...she was floating and laying on her side like "I'm done." She slowly came back after I put her into the new tank. Now she is just happily swimming about. I have 2 dogs, so I'm keeping her tank in another room.

You can get away with 2 Goldfish in a 20g, I just use a filter and a light air stone. I don't blame people for putting Goldfish in small tanks as there is alot of bad information out there. Even small 20L starter tanks sometimes say can hold 2-3 small goldfish. Bigger is better.
@@isabelle9914 if there is only one, 20 gal works even for most of his life, but it does depend on the breed too. Almost all Goldfish are actually the same breed, there's just various mutations that have been encouraged to form for asthetics. ALL goldfish will grow huge if they live long enough. As for your 10 gallon tank being a temporary holding, it should be fine even for a couple of years, but make sure to rehouse your goldfish after this time if you want it to have a better quality life.

I was wondering what fish do you have in the tanks behind you???????
OMG, I have three goldfish in way too small a tank then (only 16 gallon/70 litres). Does this mean I'll have to invest in a much bigger tank in future or are they okay to stay in there for now?
they grow quick. try to find a sturdy 55 - 75 gallon plastic tub. they are realtively cheap
What would be the tank size for two common goldfish? Would that be 30/40 gallons? Or can 20 work when they’re little but upgrade as they get older?
I'd say 25 gallon is enough
@@RuanthGrain 25 gallons is not enough for even one common goldfish lol
@@Mothobius for one goldfish
@@RuanthGrain I don't know but have you seen the size of a goldfish compared to a tank of that size? They barely have any room. I have a 30 gallon tank and it isn't even enough for one. You could keep one in it but why would anyone when they can just buy a kiddie pool or something? A 25 gallon isn't even a big tank.
I used to have gold fish in a 60l tank they ended up getting to big for the tank so I gave them to someone with a pond and they r still alive that was about 6 years ago
So if someone wanted to get a fish what is the easiest fish for beginners that you could put in a bowl? Something small and relatively easy
Sorry for being 10 months late but maybe try out a guppy or a shrimp or a nerite snail.
I have 2 Pearlscale goldfish PLEASE give me tips like what’s the best food for them?

hello dear i want to know that how much temperature i set on heater in winter for gold fish aquarium
I don’t think goldfish need a heater but I’m no expert
If i have 1 smaller breed of goldfish can I keep it in a 10 gallon tank because thats the only tank I have on hand right now.
Can I release it into a pound?
.my lemonhead stop eatinq.. what should i do?
