I didn't buy a fancy goldfish but rescued her! Now I'm waiting for a new 20 gallon tank to put her in so she can live a better life than what she had before! I have a gorgeous gold fancy goldfish! I couldn't be happier with her! ❤
Thanks for this! Your guides are very aesthetically pleasing and super simple for newbies, so I passed this on to a friend looking to get some goldies.
I just got 2 red cap Oranda goldfish from petsmart, they were the only 2 in one of their tanks and other fancy goldfish in other tanks, but I wanted a red cap and a black moor. I felt bad separating them and leaving the other red cap alone as I could tell they were very bonded with each other, they would follow one another and were always close. So I bought both of them. They are bros and I love them! They are about 9 weeks old right now and their names are Bubbles and Buttons. I’m learning so much! I originally was going to keep them in a 3 gallon bowl… I know… so I started looking to see what food they like on google, then came across tank size. Immediately the next day I bought a 29 gallon top fin tank. I’ve watched a lot of videos about proper fish care since and so far they are getting 3 amazing products by Seachem.. Prime, Stability and StressGuard. Everyone should be using them! They are amazing! I’m also upgrading my top fin 30 filter to an Aquaclear 50 and I’m going to mod it putting a Prefilter on along with black coarse sponge inside, chucking the carbon filters, putting in some poly pads for polishing and ceramic rings in a mesh bag on top. (Just ordered this and can’t wait to get it!) Much better filtration and never buy cartridges again! I recommend everyone wanting a goldfish to please do their research. They are definately not meant for bowls!
@@ellaaqua hello! They are doing amazing! I now have a 75 gallon with 5 goldfish. All alive and thriving! Ive discovered koi clay a while back as my fish kept getting bloat and getting sick so I’ve had to quarantine, fast, treat them. So I tried searching for preventatives. and putting in 1/2 a teaspoon every water change into their tank has been a game changer! Oh my! I honestly think this is the holy grail into keeping fancies healthy without any problems! It’s been about 6 or 7 months now and since adding it in, not a single fish has gotten sick or bloat issues. In fact one of my orandas had a growth on his head (looked like a tumour.. he had it for probably about 2 months) then literally 5 days to a week of starting to add the koi clay, it disappeared! 😳 I was shocked and my fish have optimal health as well as their colours are so vibrant! I highly suggest everyone to look it up on google. As to the benefits of using koi clay for fancies. It’s a must in my opinion! I also feed them Repashy gold as their main food and a few times a week I’ll give them krill, brine shrimp. My oranda fish is about 8” long now too! Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for asking how their doing!❤😊
@memyselfcomments Wow, that is great to hear! I have heard of adding clay into their diet. But I have been hesitant. What brand do you use? Do you have a link? I have dragon stone in my aquarium with my goldfish. From what I understand, it leaches clay into the water over time. Maybe this is why my fish have not developed many issues. I have had a loss, but she had some issues from the moment I bought her. If you have any suggestions on a brand that you have been using, please let me know. I also feed Repashy Gold along with some Lionhead formula, New Life Spectrum, and Emerald Entree and bloodworms. I also add some spirulina powder and adult brine shrimp from time to time. They really enjoy live black worms as well. But, I get too nervous they could get parasites so this is only once every few months. Of course they love their peas and watermelon as well as bananas lol. I also have a deep substrate with a layer of aquasoil and gravel topped with sand. This hobby is very addictive and so much fun. It's great to hear you are enjoying it and learning so much every day like me. I wish you and your goldies all the best 💖
I have a canister with media and padding that removes waste. I also have an overhead filter that has my own mixture of media that helps purify nitrite to nitrate. All of this is due to having them on my holding tank 30G gallons while they get big enough to be moved to my 1000 gallon pond.
Dear informative video I hv questions plz reply me, I hv cichlid from last 4 years all best only I m upset due to their fight almost after week my any 1 fish die due to fight as cichlid are aggressive but fast swimming also more color so i brought them in start but now I m planning to go for goldfish do you recommend it for me I hv 4 feet tank with sump filter water remain crystal clear
Not shrimp!!! Shrimp are natural food for goldfish! Goldfish not only will eat the shrimp, they will actively hunt on them. I saw that personally once. In some countries shrimp are actually sold as live food for fish, goldfish included.
She’s wrong. Goldfish tend to survive upwards to 80-100 nitrate ppm. It only gets that high if you don’t do a water change. You probably already know tho las because you commented 2 years ago. How are your goldfish?
Plecos are not good tank mates for goldfish because they suck the slime coat off of them. Also those sharks are tropical fish that are very aggressive and should never be kept with any type of goldfish

What a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
“Raising the water before raising your goldfish” this is a famous saying in the Chinese goldfish society. Most goldfish died due to back water quality

Are you mistaken WATER LILY to Duckweed ?
Are you mistaking nitrite for nitrate?
CAN you go with guppies too
You can try stiphodon goby
i really want to find out where i can find these guys near me
Fancy = bred for deformity
Why do you suggest 0 nitrates ? how can anyone achieve that? did you meant 0 nitrites?
