Yo, you taught me more than a semester of comparative justice systems class :) Thank you for the lovely explanations. Could you maybe label the videos as English law, though? I started watching a random video of yours (not in order) and therefore only realized later that I'm not looking at a comparative perspective, but a specific country :)
Hi Alena. I'm glad these videos have been helpful. I'll adjust the metadata to indicate its English Law. Drop me an email if you'd like to discuss on assignment and/or exam preparation: shaveen@outlook.com. Cheers.
So, when the police set up a sting, and there is no person or thing to act against. How can a person be charged with "attempt" when nothing existed to commit a crime against? I can see if one goes to rob a real brick and mortar bank, but not when a sting is set up to where there is no target to commit a crime against.
Hi. An attempt is anything more than merely preparatory in commission of the full offense. However, that relates ONLY in relation to the actus reus. The mens rea remains the same as the full offense. If you'd like to discuss further on answer formulation, drop me an email: shaveen@outlook.com
