  • The day we got to spend with Dick and June Klein was the kind of day you wish would never end. They are probably 2 of the nicest people in the world. We talked for almost 6 hours and then they drove me around their hometown of Huron, Ohio. They built their home there 69 years ago, after they got married. They’ve lived there ever since.
It was amazing to hear all the little details that Dick remembered from his time in Europe. So many play-by-plays of everything that happened to him in the war. Jumping into Normandy. Jumping into Holland. Losing his best friend. Stories of heroes. Stories of cowards. Stories that filled me with overwhelming pride to be an American!
He had so many items from the war and he showed me all of them. Medals, his Carbine, a Luger he got off a German soldier, a German helmet, and he even had a parachute from the Normandy jump! He asked me if I wanted him to cut off a piece of the parachute that I could take home with me! Of course, I couldn't say no to that! He even signed it for me!
Please share Dick's video and like our page so you and your friends can follow along with their journey back to Normandy next week.
