Hi, it wasn't an issue that I thought of initially, either. Since this video, I have torqued this bike to its proper spec (I suggest googling your sons' bike specification, too). Stoked that this video has helped someone else!
Not sure why you figured that tightening the shaft but would effect the engagement of clutch shoes and drum??? ATF fluid is recommended fluid for clutch side case...did I miss the part where the shoes and drum are removed and either cleaned up or washers packs replaced with coil spring kit??
Hi, in this instance it was the crank slipping inside the clutch. Once I tightened the shaft the issues mentioned in the video was resolved. Clutch engagement wasn't the problem here. The oil in the video is ATF. 👍

I'm having the same issue and mines is tighten to specs.. using atf fluid and even did a few washer stacks still takes long to engage
Love the video hate the music playing in it, it’s a distraction.
