The new bikes come with an 88 main and a 92 main as spares/swap outs; the bike had a 90 main in it when we got it. We're at relatively low elevation where we live, but when we run at Tomahawk I'm WV which is right about 600 ft, the 90 tends to do just fine. If we run at a track any higher, I usually swap out for the 88.
I’m keen to know if you can put the 2024 ignition system and stator on a previous year and if so will it be a big upgrade for an older model.. giving the older model more power…
That's an interesting question, and honestly - I'm not sure. I should have an older generation 50 here before long; maybe I'll get bored one day and see if the swap is bolt on or not!
Thanks for the great video! looking to upgrade my son too. Our local dealer has the 2024 Husqy 50. Would you say it's probably the same as the 2024 KTM 50? Husqy doesn't offer "factory edition" but I would just need to add the FMF on there? Thanks
Thank you! As for your question, I need to look into the base model 2024 KTM 50sx(and by association, the Husky 50)a little bit more. From what I understand, there are differences between the FE and base model, I'm just not sure precisely what they are yet, tbh. Sorry I couldn't be of more help! I may go to my local dealer here before long, and see if they object to me taking some video in their showroom highlighting the new base model 2024 KTM 50sx 🤣
Sweet video dude. Thinking to transition my 6 year old into this bike. He has a crf50 and he rips pretty well, but it has no suspension. I almost had a heart attack when I saw him launch it today. Haha I think he’s ready for something with more dampening.
Hmmm, I'm not sure to be completely honest - although, a host of my moto buddies will say that the Cobra clutching is loads better when it comes to MX. The CFD design of the Cobra clutches tends to remove alot of the hard hit when landing WOT, from what Ive been told - and from what I've seen, I'd have to agree. The KTM clutch, when correct, hits hard and pulls hard, but if your kid likes to throttle late, or while in the air, the abrupt application of that power when landing can take a little while for these kiddos to get used to I think(at least, that was the case with Mason). All-in-all, the new Factory Edition is an absolute cruise missile, but so is the new Cobra FWE - so you really can't go wrong....and regardless, if you're riding with your kids, you're doing everything right anyway! Stay safe and have fun out there!
Has anyone ever tried to open up the battery on the sx e5? My son's bike fell over and the collar to the charging port on the side of the battery broke and it needs to be replaced. Not sure if I have to now replace the whole battery or if it can be replaced from the inside. Thanks. By the way, Great video!
I've never done one of those! But, I'd imagine KTM will say they're not serviceable, so that way you have no choice but to buy another expensive battery. 🤦♂️
Yes, exact same amount. Calls for .21 quart, or roughly 210 ml. Also, there is a guy on ebay who prints and sells the service manual for the 2024; that's how I got mine. They should have given it to you in .pdf format, or at least an access link, when you got the bike though.
Yeah I'm from Belgium and it was the first in the country few months ago so our dealer didnt know much more at the time. Thanks for the help. How Clicks are you guys riding the clutch? My boy has done 2hours on it indoor, some playriding on 12 clicks out.
Ktm called their 24 line up " project mongoose " because mongoose kills cobras...was a cool little nugget i learned upong hours of researching this bike ..they were built to beat the cobra... and well.... my son has beaten a few already :)
Yeah, that's our little pet name for them in the pits as well.....it's clever, and not far off-base either, I agree! My son got his first holeshot this year against all/mostly Cobras; it was awesome to see!
@ESEPowersports my son has been pulling hard on the hole shot .. he's getting 90 percent of them ... his riding needs to improve but he's killing the cobras on the straights
Nice video bro!!! we also caught the shout out at the end!
LOL I was wondering if you'd catch that! Always cheering Mr. Hunter on in our camp....
are there any differences in sprockets?
With the new 24' ktm 50's, did you have to replace any of the jets? and what altitude are you at?

@@ESEPowersports , thank you, we are in southern Texas, so hopefully it will be good.

KTM needs to sponsor this man already! Awesome comparison vid bro.
Haha thanks man! And yeah, Mason definitely deserves it....kid seems to bleed orange these days 🤣
@@ESEPowersports well y’all two keep killing it! He’s got a good season coming up for sure

I'm studying the ktm and cobra 50s I heard the cobras clutches are better for the track than the trail. Still new to this but thank you for posting.

Hi, same amount of oil as the 23? We also got the 24 FE but it came with no guide.. and we didnt changed the oil yet.

@@ENVC807to be completely honest, I haven't even messed with this clutch yet - whatever it was set at when we got it, is where it's still at. 😂😂
