I'd say there is chemistry. When there isn't, it shows even past the acting. There's a film with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, both great actors but there isn't a sliver of chemistry in there. @@BansheeKing22 I mean, we see in loki that the multiverse was unleashed wide open, but I like your theory ☺️
Let me share some wisdom with you, son. People are who they are not necessarily because that's what they chose to be, its mostly a consequence of their circumstances. This was the main reason why Dr Erskine chose him, and he hammered this point home the night before his transformation. Steve probably wouldn't be the person he was if he grew up tall and privileged like others around him. He knows what its like to be ignored and discriminated. This circumstance also very likely played a huge role in his decision to join the army. You see, people look for purpose in life, and when they realize that they don't have any purpose in life, they (especially men) chose paths that are extremely risky or life threatening. He never had the opportunity to experience what love was, thus part of him chosing to pursue army was his way of trying to find a purpose/fill a void in his life, which is why despite knowing he was physically unfit for the role, he kept trying.. his ideals weren't the only thing that motivated him to stay on this path. He fully well knew he was going to die in war, and he was mentally prepared for it. He was convinced that his life had no value since there wasn't anyone to love and live for. This is evidenced by the scene where he didn't think twice before jumping on the fake grenade. He was always prepared to give his life for others. He was selfless because there wasn't anyone or anything in life to be selfish over. He sacrificed himself in the first movie because he realizes its his responsibility and this was his purpose for being chosen. However, after years of fighting and feeling like a "man out of time", he finally choses a life for himself to reunite with peggy. For the first time, he chose his happiness because there was someone to live for.
Wow he actually has a New York accent in this scene.
Imagine he was from Boston:
“You got heart, kid. Where you from?”
“Dorchester.”
“Charleston.”
The character Steve Rogers. I know Chris Evans is from Boston.
Probably had to practice it. I'd imagine after some time the accent would fade, like my dad's Irish accent did after 20 years in the states.
He’s from Brooklyn
People in NY dont sound like this anymore unless theyre from an italian mostly area(which is rare enough).
She got attracted to him before the transformation
Not so much attraction as realizing they did have a lot in common, and that he respected her right off the bat. She didn't have to work hard to get his recognition. She was as much a Captain as he was about to be. Honestly, I am pretty sure the good Doctor was thinking of giving her the serum, but that would have been a harder sell with the Colonel than Rogers was. Don't get me wrong, Colonel Phillips did not think of Carter as a Skirt. He did think highly of her, but he was still a man of his time and he did not like the idea of putting women in the battlefield, to put them in mortal peril. That and she was a lot less expendable to him than Rogers was.

Relax
@@JosephFlores-yn4yi I don't think telling him it's a joke 3 months later helps much. Also I agree with him on this
To me, the most appealing thing about Steve Rogers all along was his attitude. If I met a man with his conviction and integrity, I'd be thrilled. Everything he does, before and after the experiment, reflects his moral compass. The Super Soldier serum changed his body, but his heart was always the same. Tony once said that everything special about Steve came out of a bottle, but the truth lies closer to a remark he made to Peter Parker: "If you're nothing without the suit, you don't deserve the suit." Steve Rogers always had the heart of a hero.
Peggy fell in love with him the moment he threw himself on the bomb. Meeting someone like Steve, even without serum is just wonderful. I fell in love with him before he got ripped.
I just kinda wish he had more a sense of fun about him. The most fun you see him have is teasing Bucky and trying to lift Mjonir. That's it. I'd like to know what he did his second time around growing old with Peggy, as he had to hang up the uniform, metaphorically. What did he do to keep occupied, especially when Carter was busy getting SHIELD up and running?
The first time i saw captain america was in the first avengers movie and i disliked him so much because of his cocky attitude and how he was just talking about beating up iron man. But as I saw more and more of his other movies and especially in endagme and infinty war I started to love him so much because of the heart he had, how humble he was and how good his moral compass was that he became my most favorite mcu character. I really was so happy for him in the endgame ending that I was full of tears of joy for him. Love you cap.
As Dr. Erickson said to him that, "Serum improvise, good becomes great and bad becomes worst". As Steve was good by heart and will to sacrifice for his country, that thinking improve as Serum injected into him.
Erskine knew this, as did Peggy. From that night in the expo recruitment center, he saw a man that was willing to fight for the right reasons - not necessarily to kill Nazis, but to stand up to bullies. He saw a good man in Steve Rogers, and asked he remain one after the procedure. The Serum only gave him the tools to match his heart and will, but his heart and good soul are what really drive Rogers.
Imaging falling in love with this stick of a man, because you adore his character that much, only for hin to turn into this huge superhuman being
Only for him to "die" in ice.

Possibly the best chemistry between any couple in the MCU. Love how both Steve and Peggy are loners in a way and were bullied for who they were and what they wanted. Steve was a socially awkward kid with good intentions who was looked down upon due to size and awkwardness and Peggy was a woman who was looked down upon because she was in a profession and career field which was traditionally seen as “a man’s job”. Both of them found solace and common ground through their struggles.
Personally I loved Peggy, she wasn’t attractive to Steve WHEN he transformed into Captain America, she actually sat down and heard him explain what kind of person he was. Yes, his body wasn’t something every guy wanted to have but he had ‘A GOOD HEART’ and to Peggy that man Steve stand out to her. Steve Rogers: “I got beat up in that alley. 😔”
Peggy Carter: “I am going to rock your world. 😳”
0:20 this fits perfectly with that scene in endgame where he stands up against a whole army, with a broken sheild
And broken arm mind you
@@Datoda His arm was not broken. He has a severe gash on his left forearm but neither of his arms were broken.
@@waltermalone216 Yeah, and he was limping because Thanos stabbed him in the leg.
Honestly Steve is super inspiring
This is how much he loved Peggy; he traveled back in time just to keep his word and have that dance...
“I got beat up in that alley”
You’ve got her on strings mate
Peggy Carter, the boldest woman in marvel falls for her Steve way before his transformation. And Steve, a man of class kept remembering his only love every single moment. Though both of them had enough opportunities to go with others. That's what true love is.
BS
Black widow was after Steve too haha
Do people not remember Sharon from civil war??
She didnt he was a just a guy she admired.
@@ragingdragonii1783 people like to pretend that didn't happen, because it was so terrible, without any build up whatsoever. Made zero sense and that's why she never appeared again. He had so much more chemistry with Black Widow in TWS than Sharon.
Imagine skinny cap, but always skinny.
Just super strong.
Lol you know what was the first thing that came to mind?? Skinny Steve wildly swinging mjolnir while battling Thanos.
@@ashopp9392 that is both a pretty funny and completely horrifying mental image.
Well Superman is as least as strong as Hulk even though he's "skinnier".
Having a little Steve Rogers would have been a dream come true. Not enough short superheroes, I tells ya.
@@ashopp9392 I mean it would still be more believable than Gal Gadot as wonder woman.
People like captain America and superman are born to be courageous and optimistic. One in a million kind. Like Naruto and luffy. They inspire courage in their enemies through their actions. It is okay if you are not born to be courageous like them. But you can train.
Every time I see a scene with Steve and Peggy, I immediately think of the ending (spoiler alert, although you’ve probably watched the movie, it’s been 10 years): *”I ain’t kissin’ ya!”*
Steve went from getting beaten up in a alley and parking lot to single- handedly destroying ten well grown armed men in a elevator
Muscular, handsome men :D:D:D
Then fighting an intergalactic warlord.
“You have no idea how to talk to women do you?”
They make it difficult especially when they say stuff like, who are you and how did you get in my house?
Jaden Dodd hol up
FBI OPEN UP
I hate when that happens, they won't even let me put the TV back where it was.
That's why they should be asleep when you walk in.
pegs is definitely already thinking “im gonna steal his v-card super soldier or not.” lmao
Captain America was never my favourite superhero, but Steve had a heart of gold. Such an honest and down to earth character. Is he perfect? No, no-one is. But despite all his superhuman abilities, he's still human, which makes him a great character. Great job to Chris for playing him.
Actually he is mine and believe it or not I'm friends with actual WWII veterans who are in their 90s now.
"the right partner." right there, she totally started falling for him.
No. She had no interest in him until he became a superhero.
@@jonathanfarley2023 i dont know. the little smiles she had on her face before his transformation kinda say otherwise.
I’d count the flag chasing and decoy grenade moments too!!
@@cruelorviscious9392 very good point!
@Delaybrah Nah, even in endgame she keeps his photo where he is scrawny and little. That and this scene perfectly show she loved him before already

This actually paralleled him in the remaining films. He has moments where he has to run, but then has to choose to stand and fight.
I love how i'm just watching the whole movie through clips when I could just play the downloaded version I have on my computer.😂
Going from this to holding stormbreaker.
Thor: "You can hold the litle one"
At the end Peggy smiles like "he has passed the test" 😂
Cap then:Stand up push back you can’t say no forever.
Cap now:(having like hundred thousands of people behind.Thousands of thanos and his army in front)
Avengers Assemble!
“Oh and over there I fought a universe level threat with a hammer made for a god.”
Watching this now post End Game, as they talk about dancing and finding the right partner then waiting so long for that dance, bless you Kevin Feige this whole arc and everything in between is so rich, just so damn good.
Steve has truly come a long way since then......
That smile she does as he said “the right partner”
@juggernaut4936 Fucking adorable. ❤
Im a 26 years old guy and still everything pertaining to Cap & Peggy makes me emotional
“I got beat up in that alley” is something I never expect to hear Chris Evans saying
i never expected a dude who literally covered his crotch with whip cream and attached a banana to his asshole could be cast as one of comic books greatest heroes in a big budgeted action movie, perform the role with honor and dignity, and be adored by millions of people all over the world for it.

Peggy was in love with him before he took the serum.
He has great social skills.
I was like 6 when this movie came out so I didn’t know who Chris Evans was nor did I know that he was ripped in real life. I thought the skinny version of him was his real body, so when he turned into Captain America, I asked my dad “How did they make him have muscles?" I legit thought they waited a couple of years for him to get taller and muscler in order to film the rest of the movie 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️😖🤣😅

@@kookielover7523 Damn, i wis my dd was like that. He'll cling on to rumor mill gossip like it's part of the comics to me who's actually read the comics. At one point he tried to persuade me that captain Marvel (From the MCU) was going to be gay, and got upset and stated that it was because what happens in the comics. *sigh*
I was cap fan since this one
Me too. I was a big fan of captain america since the first movie. He is a man of exceptional character
I had a fap can where I stored it.
Everyone is like, "Oh, the Grenade Scene is when Peggy realized she liked Steve," or "The Flagpole scene, she realized she wanted to eat that boy alive," but really, I think it's this conversation when Peggy realized that the project had found the right man, and that she found someone worth meeting.
Hayley Atwell throughout this whole movie is just amazing. I genuinely watched the Agent Carter series (the Peggy Carter spin-off after the war ends and she stays working for the SSR) first, and then watched Captain America: The First Avenger, and she was brilliant in both. One of my favourite actresses who is criminally - CRIMINALLY - underrated. The scene at the end of Avengers: Endgame was so much more meaningful after watching Agent Carter, and I highly recommend it; the scene is just so much more satisfying knowing the journeys they have BOTH been on.
"I used to eat there,... Good noodles"
"I understood that reference."
This is one of my favorite mcu scenes. We have two good people trying to get to know each other and help out. That's pretty rare for a lot of movies.
Skinny Steve is so damn cute!!
She fell for him even when he wasn't Captain America.
Steve Rogers still has that voice in years. Impressive for a old yet young-looking man.
I really adore how Agent Carter fell in love with Steve at that moment where he mentions his waiting for the right partner
I love how he just starts casually listing the places he got beat up 😂
He's like one of those kittens that has a deep ass "MEOW"
She’s like “Take some super serum and call me”
Peggy thought Steve don't know how to talk to a woman when he's saying all those smooth lines.
I love this scene because it shows how Steve had been the little guy forever and also that Peggy liked Steve before he was Captain America
She liked him before he was injected. She’s a real diamond.
No "real" woman ever would tho
