- Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a 2014 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by #Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and the ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, #CaptainAmerica Black Widow, and Falcon join forces to uncover a conspiracy within S.H.I.E.L.D. while facing a mysterious assassin known as the Winter Soldier.
A major influence in The Winter Soldier was conspiracy fiction from the 1970s such as Three Days of the Condor, with the script also drawing from the Winter Soldier story arc written by Ed Brubaker. The script was written in 2011, with the Russo brothers entering negotiations to direct in June 2012 and casting beginning the following month. Principal photography commenced in April 2013 in Los Angeles, California before moving to Washington, D.C. and Cleveland, Ohio. While the directors aimed for more realism, with focus on practical effects and intense stunt work, 2,500 visual effects shots were done by six different companies.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in Los Angeles on March 13, 2014, and was released in the United States on April 4, 2014, in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. The film became a critical and commercial success, grossing over $714 million worldwide, and making it the seventh highest-grossing film of 2014. It also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects. A sequel titled Captain America: Civil War, also directed by the Russo brothers, was released on May 6, 2016

“Even after he died, Steve was still changing my life.” That is one of the biggest hints ever.
I wonder if Steve had to tell Peggy that Zola ruined SHIELD
It’s not a hint to anything; they had obviously not planned that Steve would end up with Peggy, and the Endgame time travel rules make it impossible for Steve to be her husband in this timeline.
I know the screenwriters say that she was married to Steve all along but that contradicts what the directors say. And the film itself makes it clear that Steve lived a life with Peggy in an alternate universe.

In that time line Cap is married to Peggy right? So somewhere in that house old steve must be watching Tv. Also, old steve must had warned ols peggy about young Cap visiting her, so she had to pretend apparently.
SPOILERS FOR FUCKA SAKE EDIT IT
No it's a totally different time line. Mordo said the bill always comes due. So I don't think it's the same time like but it really doesnt matter because hes gonna have his dance in the end.
@@hermanpesina6328 i think its the same timeline, thats why he had to return all the stones to the proper places, so this moment could happen normally and becomes a loop.
Red Ross the timeline is the same exact outcome as the original outcome. During his time with Peggy in the past, he never announced his identity to the public and basically lived a shadow. Judging from Endgame caps age (35-40 / estimate 70 years after time jump), he stayed in the past for 20-30 years. Past Cap was in the ice for 70 years. Which means Peggy was probably unaware cap would return again in the future when she turned 95.. She was 24 when Cap “died” in the plane crash. So she was likely 45-55 when Future Cap left to his own reality. And 40-50 years later, she sees him again in this scene. Which is why she cries and says it’s been a long time.
When Steve said: “Well I couldn’t leave my best girl. Not while she owes me a dance.” That touched my heart
According to Anthony and Joe Russo, Steve Rogers' travel to the 1940s at the end of Avengers: Endgame created an alternate timeline, where he lived out a life with Peggy Carter, eventually traveling back to the prime timeline in his old age. However, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely gave a contradictory explanation, stating that Captain America did not create an alternate timeline, but rather traveled to the past of the same timeline, meaning that his life with Peggy Carter meant he had always been her husband in the original timeline, as well as the father of her two children.

Ephesians 6:10-18 says,
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.

No he was just stalling for Tony to regain consciousness and come yp with a plan... he knew there was no hope of him doing it alone.
To me personally this scene hit me the most out of all the marvel movies....This scene has so much depth to it, especially with the narration of Caps accomplishments and history at the museum. Then it dawns on you that all of his comrades are gone. So its such a huge relief to know that Steve has at least one person still alive out of all of his family and friends hes lost...and even better to know that last person is Peggy. We were all so worried she had passed away like everyone else not knowing that Steve had survived the crash. With all that said, getting to share memories, discuss, and vent to each other, even though they never got to be together, was so beautiful. Then when all of the sudden you realize Peggy has Alzheimer's and you put together that this is probably not the first time, but most likely a reoccurring thing Steve has to go through every time he visits Peg makes it so heartbreaking. Steve Rogers, of all people, deserves the best life and even more so he deserves peace and happiness, yet he suffers the greatest loss of all.... everyone. This scene shows you Steve's true colors....which is that despite after everything Steve has sacrificed and lost, in a moment of true heartbreak, he still remains strong and selfless. He doesn't scare or confuse Peggy, but instead reassures her that hes alive and well, and does so with charm and a smile on his face like a true gentleman. Perfect example of why Steve was not only chosen but destined to be Captain America.

Who’s coming out of end game?
She was holding out the lie until the last second “you were alive.. you came back” Steve was always the husband.
Listen to her carefully at 1:40 you'll understand
"He saved a thousand men,Including the one that would become my husband" It was Steve himself all along. She adds on by saying "Even after he died Steve was still changing my life"
y’all are dumb. did you not see anything about what they said in the movie?? time travel doesn’t affect the future, it creates an “alternate timeline”. now there’s an alt timeline where steve and peggy were still together, but in the mcu main timeline they didn’t.
i believe steve went back, lived a life with peggy while alt. steve was in the ice, and then time traveled back to his own timeline when he was old
@@jas8288
"Alt" Steve is the same one who goes back to the past in 2023. So it makes total sense that Steve was always her husband, if he was always supposed to do that. Hulk even explains that every person's future is definite.
Cap's story simply came a full circle in Endgame, he never changed the future, nor the past. He was always supposed to go back in time and he's always been Peggy's husband.
@@lul_9451 That is correct. Or else, he wouldn't have been able to pass the shield off to Sam after his return, as if it were truly an alternate reality, than Cap wouldn't have been able to be sitting there at the lake for him to pass the shield on.
Who's here after avengers endgame??? Questioning about how the timeline stays intact. Those kids in the photos are Steve's and Peggy's kids. And that it seems that Peggy has dementia which explains the time jump in her perspective
I wish they made the scene when they travel back in time and those scene included in before the endgame movies. But they dont show their faces and all just mysterious help or something like that. Same as Harry and Hermione did in prisoner of azkaban.
I am 99% sure that Steve lived in another timeline with Peggy and that he came back to the timeline that we all know to give Sam the shield and because surely the CA of that reality has woken up from the ice.
Alex King so basically What happened when they went back in time is that they went to other dimensions if you will. That’s why the whole thing with Loki didn’t end up really mattering. Professor hulk explains that and this movie follows that to a tee. It’s why when they got all the stones and returned, they still had to revere the snap and Gamora was still dead. They didn’t prevent thanos from getting them the first time, they just got all the stones to snap all the people back.
As for Peggy’s kids I assume that they are fucked, and that’s a good point.
@@antonellaromero_upc1564 That's one possibility, the other is that Steve Roger's is in a never ending time loop, the old Steve Roger's IS NOT the same guy from all the movies, hence why they showed young Steve dancing after they showed old Steve. Essentially there were always two Steve Roger's, old and young... And the young will be old one day, but there will be another young one, and it's a never ending cycle
Alex King there are always 2 caps in mcu u let's assume past cap= cap 1
present cap =cap 2
so cap 2 go back in time and and get stones and mjohir to their place and then lived with Peggy and Peggy never told cap 1 about cap 2 for not messing up with timeline as cap 2 said her to do so. and cap 1 is freezed for 70 years during which cap 2 happily spend his life with Peggy and as we all know that no one knows who is peggy s husband and as we saw in civil war peggy did not tell his husband's name or show his photo to cap 1 and timeline goes on this way
In this scene Peggy already knew everything was going on and old Captain America was hiding waiting for the right time
"None of us could go back"
Enter: Tony Stank.
Such an emotionally moving scene. Its nice to see Steve visit Peggy before she passed.
Well done. Bravo.
I love how Steve reassures her that he is alive and well it’s just so sweet
The scene where he goes back and visits Peggy, and how attentive and caring he is to her needs there is sooo sweet! It makes me cry every time! I LOVE YOU CAP!!
The world sees his legacy in black and white but He remembers it in colour
When someone tells me anyone other than Captain America has the best story I point them to this movie.

He should have picked her up very carefully, cradling her, and danced with her. Right there, before the end. 😢

"Sometimes the best way is to start all over" fuck she Knew it all along
Heck yeah
“Well I couldn’t leave my best girl, not when I owe her a dance...” in Avengers 4 Cap should go back in time just for that one dance... He should explain that he’s from the future and promise her a few things, that way they both get closure. Man how I would love to see that, wrapping up Caps story this would be so wonderful.
Edit: after seeing Endgame I can easily say this was the best Marvel film ever. and as you can see from above...I CALLED IT OMG I CRIED SO HARD

That last few seconds of that scene, where Peggy becomes unaware of the previous few minutes of conversation, and sees Steve as if for the first time, is what makes that scene so special.
Even though she lived a full life, you can tell that she still loved Steve so much. I'm sure she loved the man she married, but it's clear who she truly belongs to. I'm so happy for them. . . STEGGY FOREVER.
🦕 I was gonna post a stegosaurus for “Steggy” but they only had two emojis for dinos… pretend this is a stegosaurus lol
It's cool that Steve gets to see Peggy again except she's 70 years old.
I think she's about 90-somtehing she was about 20, when Steve crashed the jet...
She's older than that. At around the time this film came out WW2 had been over for 70 years. She'd be pushy 100 at this point, assuming she was in her 20s during the first Captain America film.
Probably near a 100
I don't know. What do you guys think?

I think this is one of most heart breaking scenes of MCU.....By the way have any one noticed the facial expressions of chris while talking with her?I love it.......

The look on Peggy's face when she remembered him and said "Steve?". I was just gonna cry
"For as long as I can remember I just wanted to do what was right." That right there is a real man. Steve Rogers is the man I try to be.
I'm here because of Chris Evan's tweet. Now I'm crying again...

@@sazablackHis retirement from MCU!
I know it’s Marvel, but can’t help to think what a love story this would have turned out to be if it turned out just that on the big screen. Bits of pieces, even in the EndGame. Chris & Hayley definitely had the chemistry & their characters really blossomed. All the special effects aside, the scenes are precious. !
You know what I realized rewatching this? How severe Peggy’s disease was. Based on EndGame, cap went back to live out his life, and based on the time theory, Steve was always there with Peggy. So for her to regress so far as to not even remember all those years together is heartbreaking.
So, I interpret this in 2 ways.
1. She's putting on an act. Although I find this unlikely.
2. We were sort of mislead on how time travel works in EndGame. Early on in the film, they basically told us that time travel works similar to the time travel from DBZ. Think of it less as actually "time traveling" and more like "traveling to an alternate universe where events play out very similarly to your own universe", hence the illusion of "time travelling" and more like travelling to a far away place. This was to avoid the paradoxes that come with time travel.
In other words, the Peggy in this scene did not marry Steve Rogers, but someone else and this is genuinely her seeing him since 1945.
Of course we know at the end of EndGame, Steve gets with Peggy, but we're to assume its also in another universe.
However, EndGame sort of ruins its own premise by showing Steve Rogers (old) at the end of EndGame. We're to assume he never left that other universe (the one he went back to in other 1945) and instead stayed there and thus that universe converged to our own. I mean, I get it makes a nice dramatic moment for the end, but the movie ruins its own time travel premise.
Endgame Old Captain America Explained:
After Thanos and his army were defeated with the stones, and half of the population was brought back, “Future Endgame Steve” time traveled into the past to return the stones to their designated spots in time, in order to return all random timelines created from the “time heist” back to one normal singular timeline. After he did this, he decided to stay in the past (somewhere between 1947-1953) to live a normal life, and he married Peggy and had children with her. Those children in the picture Peggy had in Winter Soldier are his children, and Peggy’s “husband” was actually Steve all along. Since “time traveling Steve” never time traveled back to “Endgame present time,” he had remained hidden in the normal singular timeline for years, up until he decides to go to the bench in the future to talk to Sam and Bucky. Peggy and “old time traveling Steve” decided to keep everything a secret from the world and from “normal timeline Steve” in order to prevent a paradox from being created. This is why time traveling Steve is in none of the pictures in old Peggy’s house, and we know nothing about him. Now, according to MCU time travel laws, changing the past doesn’t change the future, but instead creates an alternate timeline that runs parallel to the original. So in theory, Steve traveling back in time to be with Peggy SHOULD create an alternate timeline, because he’s changing the past. BUT, old Steve is sitting on the bench in the future (and it looks like he has been waiting there for a while), rather than coming back out of the time machine like he should. This shows that Steve didn’t time travel, live a life with Peggy, and create an alternate timeline (which would require him to travel back to the original timeline through the time machine after his life with Peggy), but he instead married Peggy while STAYING in the original timeline. This does technically contradict MCU’s time traveling laws, but there is an explanation for how it can still work. In Endgame, Banner explained that every person’s future is definite. So what if “normal timeline Steve” was MEANT to time travel back in the original timeline and live a life with Peggy. If this is his definite future in the original timeline, then no alternate timeline would be created because technically nothing is being changed because it’s supposed to be that way, Steve was MEANT to time travel. By the end of Avengers Endgame, Steve’s story comes around full circle, and most importantly, he finally gets to live his life and get his dance with Peggy.
In a post Endgame interview, the Russo Brothers came out and said that when Steve traveled back in time to live a life with Peggy, it created an alternate timeline (following MCU time travel rules: changing the past doesn’t change the future, but instead creates an alternate timeline). This alternate timeline is the one Steve is seen dancing with Peggy in, and when Cap finished living his life and grew old, he somehow found a way to leave that alternate timeline and travel back to the normal MCU timeline to hand the shield to Sam. BUT, also in a post Endgame interview, Endgame screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely stated that they always intended for Steve to be the father of Peggy’s children in the normal timeline (as seen in Winter Soldier), and they wrote Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame to fit that theory. So the screenwriters of Endgame agree with my “2 Caps in the same timeline” theory, and the Russo Brothers agree with the “alternate reality” theory. My guess is that the Russo Brothers said that to steer audiences away from the truth and trick them, which they have been known to do in the past. Maybe they are waiting to reveal the real truth, which may possibly be explained in the Bucky and Falcon TV series. But in my opinion, I feel that Markus and McFeely are more credible, especially since they stated that they have always intended for the “2 Steve” theory since Winter Soldier.
Holy shit dude, I hope the this theory will be confirmed
Then Peggy was such a good actress saying "None of us can go back" and "It's been so long" knowing the man she married is still alive and is in the same timeline as Captain Thawed...
Gabe Selden this makes sense
This is wrong....if this cap stays back in time to live with peggy then there are two cap i.e one old and one young...so if old cap ends up on the bench in endgame, where is the young cap?

The future Captain america is already old at that time. hahaha
it was some good plot twist, isn't it?
Who knew “sometimes the best we can do is start over” would be in endgame trailer
The scene at the Smithsonian always made me tear up a little. Captain America is a hero, and his legacy is inspiring.
I love the idea that Steve was able to live a quiet life with Peggy, perhaps have kids, and experience the world with the rest of his generation. The closing scene of Endgame was perfectly bittersweet. The Russo's seemed to equate the end of the Avengers saga to the U.S. losing the last of the Greatest Generation.
Steve would have likely opposed the actions of the so-called "greatest generation" with their Red Scare anti-communist witch hunts, racial segregation and their efforts to return to the old social parameters.
He would have been branded a traitor for his progressive views of the American Dream.
Would Peggy have stayed by his side?
Things are always hot and heavy during wartime romances as I know from experience, but could they have made it work after the guns fell silent, the causes had been won and there's nothing in common to keep them together except fading memories of the war?
Cant believe no one recognized him

Well he has a hat and normal clothes, nothing special and no one is expecting to see him so. Most people are watching the pictures and videos and everything you know. Maybe some recognised him like that lil kid but I mean if I would've seen him there like that, I wouldn't say anything neither. It could be a little annoying for him if people are running to him, asking him for selfies and shit. If I see Will Smith or Robert Downey Jr. or Christian Bale right next to me, all casual, I would maybe just say "Someone doesn't wanna be recognised heheh how you doing?"💁🏻♂️
