THIS IS THE OPEN MATTE VERSION, NOT IMAX. OPEN MATTE IT'S THE MOST NEAR TO IMAX RATIO.
where do you get open matte footage?
What’s that even mean?
He was probably able to wield Mjolnir when we was still scrawny.
@@mechanwhal6590 open matte is the whole reel of the film without cropping. so no black bars on the top or bottom. used to be used for broadcasting on tv's and streaming, but gets thrown into the "IMAX" category.

serious question, how many men has steve rodgers killed?
@@hansolo631more than 10000. He’s a psychopath killing machine
Can’t remember but I’m pretty sure Thor said that him and cap went in a mission together where they did some killing and cap told Thor to keep it a secret, can’t remember which movie (it was when Thor gets upset that no one invited him to civil war skit)

tbf, they didn't really have any other use for it at the time and didn't know about its biological properties. why not make an impenetrable shield with it using its most well known quality?
One of the most romantic scenes in the MCU, yet simple in execution. Steve shown keeping a picture of Peggy in his compass, having no idea that Peggy would see it in a field report video of all places. It's always romantic whenever you see or hear that your partner is completely head over heels in love with you even when you're not around. And the cherry on top is Colonel Chester Phillips glancing at Peggy like, "What? You and him? Steve you sly doggggg" hahaha.
I liked her sheepish 'I had no clue' look she gave back lol😊
Steve is just an emotionalized dude, taking a picture of a woman that you have never even kissed?? that's so cringe 🤣🤣
@@KAYTOEOGEndgame mein jab Captain vapas uss time pe jata hai tab last scene mein Dance krte huye Kiss kar deta hai😂
Yeah but if she didn't like cap back then it's just creepy.. lol

2:39 Fun fact: The rifle Bucky is using in this scene is an M1941 Johnson, which is semi-automatic. Meaning he only cycled the bolt because it looked cool, which honestly seems pretty in-character for Bucky.
Or movie logic, sadly I bet the latter
Lol, yeah Buck was a crack shot and a sniper even before HYDRA got him- and lets face it a bit of a showoff. Some of the newer material just wastes him completely: they forget he was literally a commando and that kind of training/discipline never really leaves you.
Or they were firing blanks from a real, unmodified Johnson, like Mark Walberg with the .50cal Barrett at the beginning of 'Shooter'.
@@txgunguy2766 That's actually not why the Barrett appears to be manually operated in that film. The weapon malfunctioned on multiple takes due to all the dust in the air from the various explosions and stuff, and the way the movie was edited ended up making it look like he was rechambering the rifle after every shot.
(Also in this scene only one shot was fired, so even if firing blanks would require manual cycling that wouldn't really apply here)
Lots of fangirls have appreciated him playing with his Johnson.
are we not gonna talk about the guy who put a bomb under a moving tank
Dudes got it
Absolutely! That little Frenchman had some balls. Impresses me every time I see it.
That's what happens when you have a leader that inspires greatness.
hahaha!
Yup, the actual hero is the one who does heroics acts WITHOUT super powers
I like how cap's first thought when told how good the shield is at protecting is that why arent other people able to use it? Really shows his selflessness.
The perfect balance of making the suit just like comics but making it like it was from wwii is just genius, I wish to shake the hand behind the designer of the the suit cause I love how it looks here
For a brief few years, the MCU was a place of inspiration and imagination.

My favorite scene in the entire movie. Without hesitating she sends four shots at him and smiles sweetly. I love it.
She just wants to kill Steve after making out with the chick 😂😂😂
@@DOI_ARTSI mean... It's Natalie Dormer he kissed
But why was there a loaded gun with the safety off just lying on a table? That's one thing I dislike about this scene.
@@harrystone728 I would say it's because of the time period... but honestly there's so many anacronism in the movie, so I'll just say it was because of movie purposes
Good cinema but awful behavior.
Haley Atwell's look of incredulousness @ 2:35 after seeing Steve had her picture on his compass was so hilarious
Showing that Steve still cares for her.
Man, Drax did so well in this scene
Yeah man saw him too he isn't moving an inch though
Wait.... what?
I didn't see him. 😂
@@robbase5235he has mastered the ability to stay completely invisible
Woah, thanks for this comment, i missed him the first time, checked again and saw him
John Cena's acting is amazing here 😅
2:51 - the iconic pose we all know from the comics
A comic book panel leaping from the page…
0:44 after Peggy shoots, I appreciate that Stark is crouching and the two scientists in the background behind Peggy look at each other. Actually, everyone is looking. And the way stark and Rodgers never stop their conversation but stares after she leaves
Compared to Winter Soldier and Civil War, the first Cap movie was so low key it feels like a whole different genre
That's cause the in-universe time is in the 1940s, civil war and winter soldier takes place in modern times...
@@bryangosling2238Not just that but the filter on the film is toned down. It really made the the film look like it was filmed in the 40s.
It is a different genre. It’s a war film, just like Ant Man was a heist film. A lot of the original MCU flicks were different genres until they all homogenized.
@@Skyblade12i’d say most of the solo films are individual genres.
But the ones where things converge definitely are one genre
It's such a fun movie.
What I like about this scene is that is not only focused in Cap, but his whole team. The scene transmit that Cap didn’t do this alone, he had a group of people that helped each other. Is amazing how in this scene, in a few minutes you can transmit a lot of emotions
It's like in the 3rd Indiana Jones movie. Just how the simplest looking cup out of all of them turned out to be the grail, the simplest looking shield turned out to be the best fit. In other words, he chose "wisely" lol Even though I'm joking, I genuinely like the similarity
you mean the merchant of venice? the lead casket was the one.
I thought the same thing!
It reminded him of the trash can lid.
also why I love this movie, it has the spirit of the Indiana Jones films, the heart, and the way its an over-the-top fantastical narrative of kicking the Nazis butt we can all enjoy, but also is completely different in approach, style, subject, etc. People always dismiss Captain America as a character, and his movies, because he's apparently 'too boring' for dudes, who want to be cool like Tony Stark even when he's the most egotistical dipshit for large parts, likeable ofc, but Steve Rogers is fantastic becuz he's not just plain vanilla, he has moral quandaries that he faces, and questions about his role, and whats right.
2:51 this iconic Vibranium shield open the Marvel Studios! Captain America the leader and true hero.
Red Skull: *YOU. ARE. FAILING !!*

That last shot of him jumping from the tank rules.
Humour, Action, Suspence, Romantic, epic scenes, friendship and all done good and in the right amount. All in 3 minutes. That was surely the golden age of Marvel. I really hope,, they find someday someone, who can write scripts and they can return making movies like "in the old time".

Whether you like Chris evans or not. He did a great job with captain America.
How could anyone not like Chris Evans?
Who doesn’t like Chris Evans?
What doesn’t like Chris Evans?
He's a super radical lefty who's intolerant of opinions that are different from his. Great actor for sure; able to portray a character who is nothing like him.
He was also a pretty good Johnny Storm
Peggy is the cutest
This is the suit he should’ve had for the original Avengers team up movie!
Of course Steve gravitated towards the shield that looked like a garbage can lid, his shield against the bully outside the movie theater. Man never forgot where he came from.
WW2 cap and agent of shield cap are by far my favourite versions of him.
Unsurprisingly they are both the versions that use a gun with the shield.
The Avengers Cap also used a gun, actually a machinegun, in Helicarrier battle
I don’t know where people get the idea that Cap doesn’t kill people. Maybe not in cold blood but Cap be dropping bodies.
Although Hydra's not gonna attack u with a pocket knife...
Winter soldier attacks with a pocket knife... Steve - damn it Howard ...
Wish we had more of cap and the howling commandos
"You do anything fun, Saturday night?"
"Well, all the guys from my barbershop quartet are dead so, no not really."
I wouldn’t mind a Disney plus series
If only he could have bothered to make his way to Auswitch, saved a little boy named Erik, and given him a speech about humanity.
Unfortunately that would need to be a crossover movie. Joint American Canadian special forces operation if you get the gist.
Funny enough, an episode with this operation happened in another tv series
You mean Auschwitz*.
In the movies and when they relaunched the comics they made an effort to keep cap away from most of the real world WW2 events. If not it brings up some odd questions about why he was never here or there during the war. So they rewrote him to be off to the side stopping all the Hydra super weapons from entering the main war.
bro got caught with the photo and had the “fuck you looking at?” look 😂
Sometimes I forget that this was in the heyday of 3D movies and they had a bunch of those scenes where they intentionally threw stuff at the camera.
He will always be the first avenger !
I love that they're both thinking 👀🤯😍WHAT A DAME!" 😂😂👍👍
Or that she's fucking crazy.
Peggy's test of the Vibranium Shield was crude but effective.
It’s amazing nobody ever just shot Captain America in the face
I think we sometimes forget that Captain is a natural leader, very intelligent, and a natural strategist
Love the part where he asks why a sheild isn’t standard issue equipment and then also the part where a character tries to to murder him for no reason
When you have three minutes to describe MURICA.

Funny part was she had no idea it would stop the bullets and at least one would have killed him.
She probably recognized the shield.
1:16 me and my squad in COD World War II with our loadout with me in the center with the standard load out of an M1 Garand and M1911
You got to give it to the field reporter. He was recording Steve giving directions in a high risk situation and immediately noticed and captured Cap's hidden love life, then when he was caught doing that, recorded Cap's reaction as well. Also has to mention the editor who included it in the official field report that's to be seen by the top brass.
Everyone's talking about Cap, the Shield, or Drax, yet no one pointed out how one of the guns on the table Peggy picked up just so happened to have a magazine loaded into it in a room full of scientists, especially after the Cap's last visit to a top secret labratory
The MCU sure knows how to make things go boom.
Peggy really appreciate doing this shooting.
0:45 imagine she just shoots him in the legs
I like how some of the secens were not even him doing the deeds, but others.
Definitely goes 2 show that the cap with his newfound near-superhuman abilities even knows that no man is an island…
It's completely vibration absorbent. Proceeds to ring when struck with bullets.
Maybe it turns the kinetic energy into sound since unlike Black Panther's suit, it doesn't contain nor use the energy.
Despite the sound effect, the bullets don't ricochet but fall straight down, which makes sense for a vibration absorbent shield.
@@Blokewood3 Didn't notice that, good point.
It's crazy but when Peggy shot at Steve, my girlfriend would probably have done the same, lol 😆
Cap took out every enemy, but still missed Drax, he was just so incredibly still.
Scenes like this have aged like a fine wine
steve and peggy the cutest loveteam in the MCU
Not even close.
Cap throwing his shield is still the first thing you see in the Marvel Studios opening montage. 😊
And that's why you never piss off Peggy Carter.
That she takes everything personally? That's not a great character trait.
Captain America: thinking you can live without war
2:42
Bucky is using an M1941 Johnson rifle, a semi-automatic design that saw limited service during the war, due to the Garand beating it in procurement. If you look closely as he takes the shot, you can see the blank cartridge being ejected, naturally precluding his later racking the bolt.
I suspect the rifle was chosen by the props department for its odd, almost futuristic design with that integral drum magazine, while still being period-appropriate.
0:54 Anybody like how the scientists in the back was like "what the fuck is wrong with these people?"
2:38 It was not just the augmentations, brain washing and metal arm. Bucky had the skills to become the Winter Soldier.
Man something about see cap loaded up with his guns and shit that’s just so bad ass. While it’s also funny considering he could probably throw that pistol through someone’s head if he really wanted to.
I could watch a whole movie with nonstop action like this
finally getting a game centered around this point of time in cap's life is gonna be awesome man
*How Whould The Plot of This Movie Go If:*
1) Johann Schmidt found Tesseract Decade Earlier (3rd March.1932)
2) Howard Stark and Abraham Erskine worked for HYDRA
3) "Project Rebirth" Finished Decade Earlier (22nd June.1932)
"Battle-tested, Captain America and his Howling Commandos quickly earned their stripes." - Captain America: Winter Soldier
Agreed. Those men put in some fine work.
Best caps uniform imo
this film’s truly a masterpiece.
Yeah…Peggy shooting Steve to “test” the shield is when I fell in love with Hayley Atwell 🤷♂️
And she was mad at him because he kiss a woman
Get help.
There is nothing good about that.
No kid who's ever held a captain America card in school will not get goose bumps seeing that.
0:42-0:58 Agent Carter has already tested the shield😁 (as if he's a little jealous🤔.)
That tank at the end was the infamous massive rail tank that the Germans built during ww2, amazing
Awesome getting to see the original Howling Commandoes.
They need to Spotlight a show about the Howling Commandos. I could watch Cap and that team take down Hydra for hours
Just realized cap is airborne certified. Bro this man is a badass
My favorite moment was when, during his escape, Dum Dum Dugan yells “Wahoo”.
You know, I bet they were many more missions that Captain America was dealing with in World War II that was not shown on screen!
From this to She-hulk. I nasty fall!!
I don't know, scenes like this make me understand how we got to She Hulk in The first place.
Honestly would love to see a ww2 museum from this universe. All the tank museums would be massive and filled with oversized hydra tanks
GIVE US AN ENTIRE MOVIE OF STEVE AND THE HOWLING COMMANDOS
Love a good discus throw
being a captain of America than the captain of the Avengers ain't a joke.
I always wished we could have a full series on the howling commandoes
Firing a weapon in a room full of people at a superior officer at an untested shield in a time of War. Also known as how to face firing squad.
I wish all this was real, just imagine getting to he know as the soldier who assisted Captain America. Woulda been one hell of a story for the young ones.
It was love at first sight 🤣
From what I recall from the comments, if there hasnt been a retcon, the shield is better than normal virbanium, some scientist was experimenting with it it its liquid form, fell asleep by accident and when he awoke, he noticed it was different. Also, hope next spiderman movies that comes out feature Black Cat, her grandfather, as a kid, a photographic memory and got tricked to be a Nazi spy and snuck into Cap's transformation event, and memorized the super solider formula.
I wish we got to see more of cap with a gun whatever hes in. Even if its a sci fi stun pistol.
The First Avenger is better than anything we've gotten from the mcu in recent years.
This was such a great adaptation of Wolfenstein 2009
For those who don't: Hitler did commission giant tanks that were likely the inspiration for Red's versions.
That was biggest tank I’ve ever seen
This movie is still one of the best marvel films
Still my favourite uniform by a mile
Now that's true love
Would've liked to have seen another full movie of 1940s Cap... they coulda paid tribute to more Golden Age comic book heroes. Granted most of them were cheesy, but the original Human Torch and Submariner woulda been kinda cool.
Still amazes me that after this movie, Steve never used a gun to kill anyone. He just uses a shield and his own bare hands to fight
Stops any vibration
that’s why it rings like a gong 🙄
