The show was never the same after Laura died. Still, for fourteen years on Thursday nights, nothing entertained me more!
I agree...I really liked Laura especially after she married Greg. She really made him into a decent person, then he reverted after she died. I missed Constance a ton after she left the show
I loved the fact she started as this downtrodden, ignored and physically neglected housewife caused by her husband Richard and then became a strong independent woman. I also liked her dry, sarcastic nature, like when the women went out for a nice outdoor luncheon and they noticed Gary and Abby’s secret affair location and Laura simply stated, “I’m only here for the cheesecake!”. One of my favorite episodes was from season nine...”The Gift Of Life”, where Constance McCashin really took center stage and explored the reality of her own impending death and William Devane’s Greg refusing to accept the inevitable. Very deep and emotional.
Wasn't B.A.G.'s first line as Brian: "Mom, Maria says I can't have another piece of cake."?

Thanks for the post. Ahh Lisa Hartman the no talent, nobody, good thing she has stayed pretty much out of the spotlight.
What!? Lisa Hartman/Ciji storyline totally coalesced all the storylines under one umbrella like a domino effect…it was Kool and The Gang. Jumped started the soap opera format, and 86’d the self-contained episodes.
