Stablecoins are an attempt to create a cryptocurrency that isn’t volatile. A stablecoin’s value is pegged to a real world currency, also known as fiat currency. For example, the Stablecoin known as Tether, or USDT, is worth 1 US dollar and is expected to maintain this peg no matter what.
That’s Stablecoins in a nutshell. If you want a deeper explanation keep on watching the video, here’s what I’ll cover:
0:37 - Cryptocurrency volatility
1:40 - Stablecoins in a nutshell
2:22 - Main usage of stablecoins
3:20 - Stablecoin peg types
6:47 - Stablecoin business models
7:17 - Popular Stablecoins in use today
8:24 - Stablecoin crticism
10:12 - Conclusion

You are such an OG, everyone's talking about how the government wants to get rid of or regulate stable coins and you saw this coming from a thousand miles and 18 months away. I can't believe your production quality and showmanship either. I wish I found your channel sooner but this is my second video and I am already subscribed
O
Why? They still scam people .
moment of silence for the guy who bought 2 pizzas for 10k bitcoin
Nice comment, made my day, because loosing a few 100 bucks by making a bad trade does not look as bad anymore.

Doing some research on stablecoins adoption in Nigeria and stumbled on this video. I'm new to the crypto world and this video answers a lot of the questions I have. Thanks a lot for sharing. Well done
Damn Natan! I was looking for a brief explanation on different collaterals for crypto as well as the algo one. Yours is the best. Thanks man!
This is a great explanation. Questions which came to mind during the video were for the most part answered later on. Thank you for this explanation !
This is the most golden crypto information on UA-cam
I just installed Brave browser. Thank you for the recommendation. I love your straight forward, clear as your plain white background educational content. So very helpful.
Clear and easy to follow explanation of what is what are some of the issues surrounding stablecoin. Thanks
What an excellent breakdown! Went over all the risks/cons, which even included the failure of almost all previously pegged currencies.
Thanks for the educational video! It really cleared my mind as I intuitively thought stablecoins are dumb idea but could not give a concrete explanation.
Very very well done! I needed this.
Fantastic video. A great resource to come back to time and time again to remind me exactly why these coins exist. I suspect over time once the volatility is not as great SC's will provide a further use utility to the crypto space. We don't always know from the outset how things are likely to morph. But brilliant video.
the bloopers were funny. I never thought u blew a word u flow so well!

I'm new to all this and this is by far , the best explanation on stablecoins I've found. Very well done sir! Most dont bother to explain the basics that you did and after watching, I ended up knowing pretty much the same, as I did at the start, which was never very much :D . Your video , has given me exactly what I needed to know. Many thanks

Very easy to understand thank you
No mention of the potential gains and risks from stable coin interest bearing accounts? That’s the most attractive part of stablecoins. People are making 10-15% interest on stablecoin. Would love to hear some opinions on that part of stablecoins.
Thanks for the quality content!
Prefect video ! exactly what I needed
Again, great content! thanks for breaking it down my man!
This video was very informative. Thank you!
your videos are very good and very informative.. thanks!
Nate, you are the BEST! Thank you for your videos!
When you mentioned that the supply of the coins is increased/reduced to balance the demand of the coin, does that more specifically mean that the max cap of the token is being adjusted? I'm trying to clarify how exactly coins are added and removed.
Thanks for the perfect description.
Well done. Comprehensive.
very informative, thank you
great videos - would be good to see an explanation of what went wrong...

Have you guys seen USDQ? What do you think?
Thank you, I thought I was a lost cause. But I get it when you explain it.
How does an algorithmic peg work? If the price drops and there is a need to remove coins in circulation, from whose account should the coins be removed? And if the algorithm decides to remove 1 coin from your account (randomly chosen or otherwise), why would you agree to it? How is it fair that you end up being the one who pays for it, pay for the price drop or drop in demand?
I have to say that this guy is amazing, it's like reading a 200pages book en a 10 minutes video. an talking about volatile coins I invite you to live a month in Argentina haha
thanks for the video, now i am more confident about tether!

Hypothetical question: what happens if you create a stablecoin and peg it on a currency that's facing inflation? (Such as in venezuela).
Or, if you create a stablecoin (algorithmecially pegged) in a country going through massive inflation. Would that hypothetically work? If yes, would it solve the problem?
well explained. thank you!

thanks for the clarification of tether!
Have you guys seen USDQ? What do you think?
Good vid. Liked, subscribed.
Thanks for the info
Great deck!
Great video as always. Thanks for information
Thank you for a very detailed explanation! I still don't understand tho why literally everyone uses USDT while criticizing it for the things every other stablecoin does
I think we can have more exchanges in the future. I have been exposed to cryptocurrency for two years, but I know there is still a lot to learn.
How does crypto backed collateral pegs work? The concept of stablecoins is to reduce or eliminate the volatality of crypto currencies. But if crypto backed collateral pegs are again backed by crypto currencies how can they be stable?
Coinbase wallet vs. bitcoin wallet? I have Coinbase purchased bitcoin; which wallet should i get?
I hav a question so if people from other countries buy usdt does that make the usd value go up ? Lets take for instance 1 trillion usdt was purchased using Japanese yen does that make the usd value go up while yen goes down something like forex i guess (im not very well equipped with the knowledge of forex btw )
One thing that no one emphasizes is that when the dollar value crashes....so goes the stablecoin value. So many people in the crypto space will tell you to put your checking account money into one of the stable coins because of the fear of the dollar crashing eminently - but then when you ask them what’s the point of doing that when the stable coin is pegged to the dollar -........ crickets.
thanks for the video, i am really appreciated, without fud about tether and so on

So, is it just to keep as profit and dry powder to buy during bear market?
Thanks for this video. Could you please clarify, does this mean, that to take profit, instead of selling my crypto at the top (using the sell function) , I can instead use the SWAP function and swap my profitable crypto for a stablecoin? instead of actually "selling" it using the sell option? and then, to the opposite, to get back in at the dip?
Whether you convert coins to fiat or stablecoins, you are in effect selling your bitcoins for payment in fiat / stablecoin. So swapping and selling are really the same thing - converting one form of currency for another.
Very informative, thanks a lot!!!
Yes, I agree with you, but I am a miner now
this video has immenssely helped me in writing a final paper for class. Thank you for the clear explanations!
Can we peg a crypto currency to any value?
If I want my coin to be valued at 10 usd today and 20 usd tomorrow and 5 usd after that and so on?
Well at least we know you are not an android, i was starting to wonder, lol. Thank you for another great video!
😁
USDT recently hit the news as it underwent a major "audit", partly to stay in compliance with a recent settlement agreement made between Tether and the New York Attorney General's Office. But the veracity of this audit has been called into question by many crypto experts. Seen as an attempt to answer critics on what actually backs USDT, the audit still left many unanswered questions.
While Tether released a range of different figures, including that their reserves were made up of 65.39% "Commercial Paper", no more detail was given---like the individual ratings of these backings or who they were issued by. Tether did not declare who the borrowers of loans were or what the collateral backing them was. "Commercial paper" is a huge red flag for me.
some really good content
So tether is essentially like going to cash or "flat" as you would in the stock market?
Too overstated for good orientation going into a future and forward path onto digital money/assets /personal autonomy. The concepts here all flip in a flash moment depending on the calming or the escape of and from fiat banking money just as a generalized start path
