  • I give you as detailed a guide as I can to remove the intake and then the water pump on the 2.0L TFSI CCTA Motors. This is an extremely common repair and I figured you wanted to know what to do to get it done!
    Part Numbers
    06J121065F - Coolant Pipe
    06h121118C - Bridge
    06h121026DD - Water Pump

    I checked a couple different videos, but this one was definitely the best in terms of both covering what needed to be done and showing it effectively. Helped me out quite a bit when I did this on mine at home, good stuff.
    Only advice I'd have for anyone watching this is that the intake might take a wee bit more force to dislodge then he looks to use here or that feels totally comfortable. I spent like half an hour hunting for a connector or bolt I missed only to realize I just need to pull slightly harder lol.

      @deamonmachine  2 роки тому

      yeah, it's at that level of pulling that even I still double / triple check that I pulled out everything correctly.

    Probably the most thorough and straight forward video on this procedure I’ve seen! Liked and subscribed!
    My wife has a 2013 turbo Beetle CBFA motor and it’s started to get a misfire on cyl 2., rough idle on cold start ups and idling at all temps is starting to get worse. Between that, basic troubleshooting, and the 70k miles on the odo, it’s time to do a walnut blasting. In the process of researching it, I realized it would be a good time to do the water pump. We’ve been lucky and haven’t had it fail but, we also haven’t had the valve cover leak either.

    The coolant pipe is actually part number 06J121065F. The description has the wrong part number for it (typo, you said it correctly in video).

    Thanks alot mate for the easy steps.
    I have a 2009 AUD1 A3 i took tha manifold off the replaced its sensor and after putting it back on i noticed a water leak from under it which it looks exactly like the problem you have, also after i left the car running for about 15 to 20 minutes waiting for the thermostat to open and cycle the water, the coolant bottle started boiling up and throwing the water out. Do you think the thermostat is faulty and stuck closed?
    Thanks again

    Perfect procedure . I was just wondering how to unscrew the belt engine pulley. Beacuse apparently it is not possible to change the belt without unscrew the revers nuts of the pulley ?!

    • @deamonmachine
      @deamonmachine  Рік тому +1

      cause that harness and injectors need to be in the intake upon re-install, it's really hard to get the injectors back into the fuel rail when they are still in the cyl head.

    Nice Video! One question regarding the underneath bracket, would removing only the 13mm good enough to take out the intake, or both ends have to be removed?

    Do you have torque specs on replacing the intake? Also does intake gasket need to be replaced or is it reusable?

    At the 6:59 mark near the center of the screen there's a round object with the 2 red wires connected to it. What is that piece called and can that leak at the top? If so, what does it leak? (Sorry, I know nothing about cars except how to drive them! 😬😬😬)

      @@deamonmachine thanks for the quick reply. I should have mentioned the EPC and battery light were on. I have taken the manifold back off, and everything seems to be in the correct location. However, I noticed some copper showing through pinches in the wires next to that little plug at the left end of the manifold, behind the oil filter. The insulation has definitely been stiffened by oil and/or heat. Fuel is getting to the injectors, but seems to be held back there as quite a bit fell from them when I pulled the manifold away this time. P0122, P0222, P0113 are "pending"

      @@semihyilmaz4699
      If oil and coolant are somehow mixing that's actually an extremely serious and entirely separate problem all on it's own.
      Alternatively, you could certainly lock up the engine if you kept driving after losing all your coolant and catastrophically overheated the engine, without leaking out the oil.

    Quick question though, I've seen folks damning the sensors that come in this water pump assembly and they advise using the ones out of the original assembly.
    Thoughts?

    Fyi water pump can be replaced without removing intake manifold done it 3 times be patience just remove throttle body air filter housing all the coolant pipes half the time.

      I know, I just don't like doing it that way. 99% of the time we do a walnut blasting of the intake valves as well.

      If u have access to hoist u can do it without removing intake. remove fan cowl, throttle body, charge pipe, coolant hoses, and u will be able to access from bottom. I find this to be easier way . If u look at instruction on Elsa , Removing the manifold only require for Tiguan.
