Just love to hear his melodious voice - Elvis is most honest and always polite - such a handsome GENTLEMEN! We will forever and ever love and miss you so much. You have a place in our lives because you crept into our hearts!
I'm so thrilled to have found this video on UA-cam!! At the time, he freaked out about that announcement because he thought June told everyone about their engagement. She hadn't but Elvis, the MM and June had to drive all the way to New Orleans to dispel this rumor. She was with him during this interview, that summer in Biloxi/Memphis and his tour. He had been with June since 1955. He did propose to her that summer but she broke it off in March 1957, mostly due to the spies the Colonel planted, his control over Elvis and her insecurities that grew as his fame did. They did stay in touch until he died. Her book is wonderful.
Elvis so gracious, and so polite. He had been on a few dates with June Juanico and spent some of his vacation, with her and both his parents and her mum.and partner, along with some friends of theirs. June,s mum had supposedly spoken to reporters about how close they had become that's where the engagement rumours came from. June was really fond of Elvis but he'd told her no way could he settle down, the Col made sure of that. There was no way the Col would have allowed Elvis to even contemplate marriage, at this time. Memphis girl friend Barbara said he'd told her that he had to be seen as being free and single for his young female fans. Anita Wood who he met in 1957 and still date after he came back from the army told how the Col had prevented her from even visiting him when he was stationed in Germany. Elvis really was throwing himself into his career at this time though, he was a workhorse , glad he took a few weeks off to relax and have fun. June is actually with him whilst he's doing this interview. It's all in her book.
@@anY-bf9ud Oh come on, she didn't dump him. He didn't want to be tied down I mean just look (and listen to him!) I mean there was fame to be had, so much world to see, and ahem, his oats to sow, quite frankly. She probably just got sore because he didn't want kids and marriage right then. Let's face it, she new what a gem she had. She broke up with him? Well I doubt that, but if she did she was a fool!
@resa.walters she actually hurt him deeply, 😢 She said she broke his heart to save her own. Have you read her book, it's as heartwarming as its heartbreaking, I can honestly say you'll be very teary eyed whilst reading it.
@@arealmemory1138 noooo, he loved us, he always appreciated his fans and basically let them share his luxury because he used to give out gifts and such. He’s the king ❤
She regretted leaving Elvis. She could have been the one Elvis would marry later on, but I don't think she could have handled all the love affairs he would have all the time.
Well y'all, look at this devastating creature. He was so young and incredibly handsome, but not yet at the pinnacle of his fame, would you want to de-rail your fame by getting tied down? He would've broken so many hearts if he'd done that. It might have resulted in children which might have made him want to quit for awhile then we might have lost him for many years, and we didn't even have him for enough years. I guess he broke June's heart, poor girl. But with all the women that were throwing themselves at him he managed to get over her and Anita I guess. And then there came Priscilla. You've just gotta feel like it's the right time, I guess.
Why the heck would he have wanted to marry anyone right then? Some guy asked me when I was 16, and I thought he was out of his mind. I think he was 18. Elvis's whole life was ahead of him, I don't think he wanted to get married until he had a hold on his career....

She dumped him not long after this. I bet they did talk about marriage

That is what SHE says, and he cannot refute it.
I am not sure I believe her story.
Rocks
So humble
Elvis sang a song called New Orleans in the King Creole film.
super interview!
His manager controlled his personal life.
Both JUNE JUANICO and Anita Wood had to
endure the interference of the manager.

Elvis forever
We heard it loud and clear Elvis😂! ❤️🇦🇺
Here in 2023!
Its good, to make things straight, for people who are too vulgar and uses him to have their own fame.

The thing is he probably told June he wanted to marry her. She dumped him after this interview. I don't blame her
She regretted leaving Elvis. She could have been the one Elvis would marry later on, but I don't think she could have handled all the love affairs he would have all the time.
@Cheryl Spencer she dumped him eventually. I read she was dating others same time as him because she knew he would never stay true

Some guy asked me when I was 16, and I thought he was out of his mind.
I think he was 18.
Elvis's whole life was ahead of him, I don't think he wanted to get married until he had a hold on his career....
21 and being asked about marriage. It's 1956 and he was 'getting on a bit'.
Funny, he was not engaged. He was waiting for me.
Was'nt he dragging Pricilla around with him at that time ? but as she was under age it was kept hush hush .
At this point they hadn’t met. He went into the army in 1958☺️
He first met Cilla in 1959....she gave a live interview around 1980 and said she was a virgin when she got married.
No he did not meet her until he went in the army. She came to America in the 60's. That is 10 years later then this
And dragging around. What the heck.
