I was listening to an interview with this dj who was on a big 4 act tour with Eminem back in 2005 and they were talking about hooking up with dozens if not hundreds of girls at the shows all year long. When the interviewer asked if Eminem ever joined them with these girls, he said, "as soon as the show was over, he would sign autographs for an hour, hop on his private jet to go back home to see his daughter, then two days later he would fly to the next show, and repeat the process. He was all about his daughter. It's all he talked about, it's all he was about."

I don't think it was shots fired at Kim really. Eminem just tells the story on how it was. I guess it can be heard differently but personally I think he's just saying what happened. Em and Kim were definitely in a toxic relationship. Hailie is his only daughter by blood. He adopted Lainey which is Kim's sister's child, and Whitney which Kim had from another relationship.

I cried through this whole video. When I was little, my dad and me would listen to Eminem together, and he told me that this was his song to me. I didn't really understand why at the time, I just liked the melody. After a rocky childhood, largely because of my dad, and for a long time resenting him for it and eventually forgiving him, when I listen to this song now I understand why he said it was his song to me. My parents were going through so much, and he was working 60-80 hours a week just to make sure we had a good life. I know now he didn't want to do the things he did, he just didn't know how to handle everything. So listening to this as an adult, almost every word sounds like it's straight from my dad's mouth. When he wakes up I'm gonna give him a hug and tell him I love him, while he's still here. If anyone reads this, and you're lucky like me to still have the people who raised you alive, let them know how much you love them, because tomorrow isn't guaranteed, and you might not get a second chance.

So as far as the shots at Kim go, this is probably the kindest he's ever been to her. He's written a few songs where he trashes her.
In this one though, I actually felt like he was trying to put another side of her out there. He mentioned her drug abuse, but it wasn't included for shock value or specifically to diss her, I think he was trying to backtrack a little bit from all the horrible shit he'd said about her in past songs, wanting his daughter to have a better image of her, as flawed as she may be.

Alaina (Lainey) is Kim's twin sister's daughter and now his oldest daughter who he adopted due to her mom's inability to take care of her due to drug addictions. Whitney Scott is his third and youngest daughter of his ex-wife with her partner Eric Hatter who he also adopted. He also adopted his half brother Nate who is 16 years younger to him and helped raise him as well.. No matter what people say about Em, no one can question his loyalty and love for all his kids if people actually know his back story. Thanks and all the best

Eminem - Believe, this is one of underrated songs in Revival
Revival is hugely underrated as a whole.
I think one of the really underated things about this song is how great it is at being a comfort to children experiencing divorce or family drama or a single parent, to remind them that their parents still love them, and this was never the plan, but helping them deal with that situation and move forward in a healthy way.
The video make everything so real.. yet even he saying all the stuff about Kim, the video shows a lot of precious moment with her and the kids!

Eminem essentially actually did give up the road life completely. He evolved his career and changed everything the business expects to be able to be at home.
Remember this every time you see super rich people still living the road life while having kids. It changes some mindset about who is and is not successful. Some super rich are still chasing the dream that they already have, some embrace that they have their dream and work with it.
I didn't even think about this until right now. In an interview with another rapper the guy was shocked that Eminem views his career as a job in that, he clocks in, takes a lunch and clocks out. He does what he does within that time frame. (as far as producing goes)
If I place it correctly, it was on a really long interview with (yes...! ) Charlamagne about his collab-album, where Ed Sheeran talked a tiny bit about Eminem and he said that he talked about how to balance life with family when you are famous. Ed said Eminem had explained that he purposefully limits his tours so he will be at home for most of the time. Dang, I don't get it together completely. But you can watch the whole interview on youtube. It's actually really interesting, not just for the Eminem-part, and Charlamagne did a good job in it.

Eminem as 1 biological daughter and 2 other adopted, if I'm not mistaken, 1 from his ex wife relationship with another man and his niece after the death of the parents. Oh and back then he was able to go get his younger brother back in from the state department. So he had kinda 4 children.

Mockingbird and When I'm Gone are and probably always will be my 2 favorite Em songs. It's crazy to me how some people lump Mockingbird in with the less good and even bad tracks on Encore. When this song came out, Kim had just gotten out jail for charges (a DUI maybe?) related to her drug abuse. So, when he mentions these things in this song, I don't think these are meant to be "shots" at Kim. He's genuinely trying to explain the current situation as best he can to 2 small children. Being a celebrity doesn't exempt a person from experiencing painful, emotional, dramatic events & traumatizing situations...it just means that all of these moments are ruthlessly plastered all over social media. Back when this song came out though, "social media" wasn't yet a thing so his hurt & anguish (along with all those close to him) was splashed all over TV, radio, magazines, newspapers & other publications. Personally, there's no amount of money that would make me want to live a life where I'm always being watched, every word I say & every move I make carefully scrutinized & never knowing who I can really trust. I can't imagine how isolating that would be. Awful.

David Tennant, on his podcast (he's a British actor in case you are not familiar with him, although you might know him as Kilgrave from 'Jessica Jones') said that being famous strips you of your anonymity, and you can never fully understand how important it is to have until it's gone.
He and some of his podcast-guests talk about it a little, and some openly say they just never leave the house. If they are meeting friends, they do it in a known location where they know they will not be bothered or just don't go out at all and become hermits.
I think that explains why so many famous people have houses that seem ridiculous to the average person. But if you never get to leave it without being mobbed, it'd NEED to be huge so you don't get bored too much.
And including kids, who will never get to be 'real people' just because their parents got famous, that sounds like a shitty deal. A real deal with the devil, you might say.
