I was so impressed with these people, their perseverance and hard work is amazing. I was equally amazed at the construction of the boat and also the beauty of it. This was a very fine documentary on these Indian people.
Very nice video. Onam festival is celebrated by people of all faith. That is the secularism of Kerala. Long live Kerala, its tradition. ❤ From Tamilnadu.
What a fantastic docu, marvellous. I so enjoyed watching that, a wonderful experience that must have been. I'm an old man and housebound, videos like this allow me to live a life so different. Thank you?
I live say 15 kms east of this place. We get to see lakes and occean rarely. Our lives are literally devoid of any waterbodies except for the ones we watch in movies and youTube. This is not my lifestyle. Please do not misunderstand, there is ample variety in landscape and lifestyle every ten kilometres.
Onam is a Hindu festival. But for all Malayalees, Onam and Vishu are cultural identity festivals. That's why even non Hindus and atheist also take part in the festivities.
This is so old bro. Why uploading this video right now ?? Now it's day night difference here. Stop spreading this video. All those what you showing is developed now and the lifestyle itself changed
Very poorly produced film piece, with a lame voice-over. 😒. Narrator barely attempts to correctly pronounce "Malayali" or any other local word including the name of the state. Tries to imply that the "MALAYALI" is some sort of water-dwelling boat people like in the movie Waterworld. There are 30 million MALAYALIS doing a lot of other things. This French guy tries to show Malayalis as some sort of Amazon rain forest tribe with a 1990s National Geographic feel. And worse are the lame-a** actual Malayali commentors from Dubai and around the world clapping for this crap. Take a trip home once in a while and see the real Kerala, with so much diversity than just boats !!
Iam a malayali watching your videos for years.Never expected to see my homeland in your videos. Thanks to everyone behind it.

christianity and islam is the biggest reason..as majority of kerala is non hindus,..hindus are communal and casteism
It's great that you recognise KERALA 😅
So nice place and people with nice traditions ❤. I have a bounce of Malayali friends living in Germany and Poland. Greetings from 🇧🇩
Watching from paris 😊, Malayali from India 🇮🇳 ❤
Malayali technically means the mountain people, but such is the geography of Kerala.
Because kerala is situated between the sea and mountains
We are sea and mountain people .

2:10 see, the guy has a motor mount. The French guy made him switch to oar for the purpose of documentary, what a farce!
I think this was filmed in 2010 🫤
Beautiful 😮
Agree 👍
In my country there's a boat rowing competition called SARAWAK REGATTA.
I have loved their way of preserving culture and traditions
Do they have a black origin gin
Feels like its an old documentary or the people have no idea to shoot a better video.
