  • Rajasthan, the "land of kings", is the largest state in India.
Its 68 million inhabitants still live to the rhythm of ancestral traditions and on the occasion of Holi (the festival of colors) we set off to discover the mythical land of the maharajahs.
This film offers a journey to an eternal India with an anthology of unforgettable experiences, as much by the splendor and the old-fashioned charm of its palaces of a thousand and one nights as by its colorful art and the authenticity of its inhabitants.

By chance, as I started to have dinner I started to watch this documentary about Rajasthan and I went 15 minutes into the documentary but as I saw those 15 minutes I was completely shocked and in awe over Rajasthan Rajasthan is the land of the people who are known as the Rajput whom I know a little about, but not much about this city is, I would say is really truly one of the wonders of the world as an entire city to have an entire city as a wonder of the world is a very, very big thing in the documentary, I was so odd by the architecture and the splendour of these forts and palaces and monuments which were designed and completed anywhere from the year 1600 even up to the year 1800 to have that level of architectural finesse is really something to think about when you look at those structures and if you think about everything involved in the drafting in the planning in the execution in the construction, the coordination, the transportation, all these things if you think about them, it’s really blows the mind. Then I saw some other things which are sort of sophisticated sundials of different types, which were being used by the astronomers this is like really mind blowing, if you think about it in this day and age so many people don’t even know how to use a calculator, so this is a very remarkable city, but really more remarkable. It makes me wonder who are these people who were so advanced 400 years ago.
I highly recommend this documentary. It is a very nice production, but also in scope, it covers the most interesting things you can imagine.

Be grateful that they are at least spending time to make a documentary on it. Correcting a minutiae detail isn't going to change the course of history, relax.

The Caste system is alive and well across the entire country, not just Rajasthan, some places more so than others. Politicians are actually perpetuating it, due to 'vote-bank' politics. Go figure.

Never been there, but saw many doc and beautiful places, people sure, but primitive idol worshipping blindly caused them to live in poverty all over India/\. They spend a large part of their lives bullsheeting around religion. according to the researcher, if Indians lived in harmony among all faiths, with no castes and no discrimination to Muslims and other minorities, their GDP per capita probably, but surely double than now.

    • @VaidehiSharma-ge8hy

wdym by bullshitting don't use media knowledge there r thousands of cultures and ritual here , every culture is different don't associate it with religion and no one is discriminating minorities here its just our neighbors doin like Pakistan and Bangladesh they do discriminate minorities there and our population is huge that's why our GDP per capita is low and don't forget corruption here China don't have that much corruption and Finally, India's population is younger than China's, which means that there are more people in India who are not yet working or who are not yet earning as much as they could. This can also contribute to lower GDP per capita

While there is poverty and extreme poverty in India, what foreigners have to understand is that , looking rich or wealthy as is seen in many parts of the world, is not so prevalent in India. Most Indians who have wealth, stick to daily traditional and cultural clothing and don't really look rich. Its a problem for most foreigners who come to India and take one look at the general population , and surmise how everyone is poor. Fact is, as Indians we avoid such sweeping generalizations that foreigners so confidently make.
