I think many people underestimate the impact that diet plays in their health. It doesn't help that over the last 50 years processed foods and fast food chains have become more widespread and accessible than ever before. As shown here if you can limit the heavily processed foods, consuming fresh, highly nutritious foods and exercise regularly, living life more simply will do wonders.
I'm amazed by their way of living. Our Elders Africans used to live exactly like they do, they lived longer and in good health. But nowadays as we've started eating harmful processed food we barely reached 80. Those of us reaching that ages ends in such conditions that afraid younger to turn older. I think we better eat completely natural food.

not surprised these people live with nature in the most pure form...they keep active every day because they have to.... they eat natural food....if they start eating from supermarkets with processed food loaded with sugar , salt ,additives the difference will fade very fast....
Fish grown in the wild and free run chickens and tuberous foods and fruits, legumes, and tree nuts and walking for two days (lots of exercises) are the key to a long life. Living in nature naturally is best.
No politics, no taxes = less polutents, no sugar, no oil, no news, less stress, less food and more physical activity keeps them in better health... Compared to old people around me, they are not too different. Except they live in the middle of the rainforest.

My secrets: 180 push-ups, 240 sit-ups in the morning, and a 5-mile run at a pace of 6:50 per mile in the afternoon 3-4 times a week, plus a high-fruit and veggie diet and a low-protein diet.

It’s difficult to know how old these people really are though… it wasn’t until my great grandmother died and we found her birth certificate that we realised she was actually a different age to what she had always told us.
I wonder why people wants to live long. Others afraid of dying and very seldom mentioned their purpose if they had done. I have children finish their schooling of which I believe my only obligation. I hate enjoying drinking, smoking with friends or working in my garage shop to pass the time, if only we can say easily goodbye and be gone, I would rather have my space used by others. I am 57 years old, no medication and maintenance, joints pain many, can still lift and transfer my 150 pounds anvil when arranging things. Nobody asked if we want to exist or not, now we experience life and sustain the everyday challenge. In this world I won't be happy alone and seeing others in miserable lives. This life will go on, it is embedded in our system to survive and improve to adopt to our harsh environment. As human there's so much to choose how and what to be happy. Our culture teaches us that only death... "wait for it will surely arrive."

They have to collect and prepare the food before they eat so they have a fasting window. Making the gutmicrobiom thrive and the gut rest and insulin restore. This luxury only started about a few thousand years ago, it may seem better to be so advanced in technology and stuff but if you think about was all of this really necessary, are we really evolving or just being a persistent bug on this piece of dirt that will kill itself much faster than it took to grow.
On the grand scale of things today's advanced civilization may just be the quietness before the storm that will wipe all of us out without anyone to even look for our remains.
Nobody is hating? Yall people have imaginary haters I swear
@@Paul-kl2mn basically they don't need whote people. Seems this shows the truth about America. White people downgraded the land.

this is what nature and living near a natural environment can give.. absolutely amazing..! some may call it dirty but i would call it the absolutely traditional way to live life..
A world without white people 😂 😮 it is a upgrade.
it makes no surprise to me ..they are living fully healthy
A world without white people. It's amazing isn't it.
I love these types of documentaries showcasing other cultures, that we have never heard of. We really live on a huge world w so many different cultures.

Once again science is surprised that the unadulterated, natural slow way of life actually makes for long life
The moment I heard that "scientists are conducting a study on them", I knew diabetes or TB will be next, HIV if not Malaria or Ebola will follow.🙆
Its a hard life for them.
There are other groups of people who live the same way as them but don't have the same health span.
@@threekblack217 they don't have as much stress as people in our societies..
So true!! They can’t fathom that a life with less convenience and efficiency can be a beneficial, meaningful, healthy one. It is hard in some ways, but more than worth it.
Life is still hard but full of peace and happiness, anyone who loves village life here
Their food and lifestyle is what makes them live longer .
No shit, Columbo.
Oh yes, a carb heavy diet which modern science says is bad.
"Now, the most difficult thing is my body. I can't walk far."
*Yeah, at 78, that's understandable... I can barely get my grandma to do a small walk around the house.*
"I will walk for two days at most."
*Teach me, master.*
They don't eat chemicals through food, medicines, air or water. They don't stress for bills or loan.
The first elderly lady carrying banana on her head doesn't remember her age meaning she doesn't celebrate her birthday annually & just doesn't bother with it... perhaps the secret is just not keeping track of one's age thus avoiding the accomplishment anxiety

the fact is their lives are stress free as well as the diet and exercise. no worry about job mortgage, education, status and so on. plus minimum interaction with people from outside their region hence less transmitted diseases.
And no sitting at desks their whole lives.
No stress? I'm pretty sure not being able to get any game and a constant threat of running out of food is rather stressful
not much meat.either, (even though they mention it) because they don't have fridges to store it for long, so when they do eat meat, its a short feast that only lasts a couple days as the climate it spoils meat too fast.. We visited that area 7 years ago (different tribes but all have the same ancestry) With smaller animals they add the meat for just flavour to some soups to get a few days more, You sometimes saw meat in dishes but it was very thin slivers, so its a very low consumption of it. We noticed they mostly ate vegetables, root vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, berries, seeded shoots, fruits, whole grains (if any), herbs, spices etc,
You might have the secret, right there. Stress causes mutations in DNA, which changes everything.
My grandmother is 105. Four years ago it was three women over 100 years in their small ward at the home in Norway. Three out of ten were over 100.
Less stressful life is a big help for one, and the rainforest contain many unknown herbs and plants.
Stay in Europe 😂
Such pure and loving people
WOW Amazing Grandma and Grandpa..they are still strong at their age.. Godbless both of you.
God bless the Tsimane strong and healthy people❤💪
I think many people underestimate the impact that diet plays in their health. It doesn't help that over the last 50 years processed foods and fast food chains have become more widespread and accessible than ever before. As shown here if you can limit the heavily processed foods, consuming fresh, highly nutritious foods and exercise regularly, living life more simply will do wonders.
Our world is the most mystical place.
The humor of this couple make me smile😊, they laugh graciously
I'm amazed by their way of living. Our Elders Africans used to live exactly like they do, they lived longer and in good health. But nowadays as we've started eating harmful processed food we barely reached 80. Those of us reaching that ages ends in such conditions that afraid younger to turn older. I think we better eat completely natural food.
Excellent report on longevity! I've been studying on the subject for quite sometime now. I appreciate the report!
Very beautiful documentary young man … They are very beautiful and they never harm the earth ! They are true heroes ❤❤❤… Thanks again very much appreciated and good work!!!
But if a modern country wanted to take their land, they'd do it without any resistance. Which makes these people fortunate to be so isolated.
We do not all have the luxury of living hunter gatherer lives.
These people are 80-100 and they can still do laborious works. While here I am, only 19 yet my back already hurts just by bending down
Why is your back hurting from bending down?
not surprised these people live with nature in the most pure form...they keep active every day because they have to....
they eat natural food....if they start eating from supermarkets with processed food loaded with sugar , salt ,additives
the difference will fade very fast....
Basically, no whote people 😂

Great video. Thanks for sharing!
I am well over 40, but most people I met thought I was in my 20s. I can still run a mile in under 6 minutes, rest my heart rate under 50, and maximize my heart rate over 200. I was stopped by Belarusian and Ukrainian customer agents in the airports multiple times because I look 20 years younger than my biological age. My secrets: 180 push-ups, 240 sit-ups in the morning, and a 5-mile run at a pace of 6:50 per mile in the afternoon 3-4 times a week, plus a high-fruit and veggie diet and a low-protein diet.
Low protein or low meat?
Might be lack of stress that keeps them younger looking and feeling.
People who don’t have stress tend to be healthier.
The food they eat directly impacts on longevity
There are many people in more modernized parts of the world also living great lives at that age. You don't have to isolate yourself to a remote village. But, you need to exercise, you need to eat mostly nutritious food, you need to have goals to live, and you need to actually be happy and not stressed. Living in a place without a lot of pollution also helps. And money... money helps a lot, too.
And you need to live different life than most people. Modern people think that normal life is partying and fornicating and if someone does not do that he has no life.
Money is a cause of immense stress to most people. When you live off the land it is better
@@SusanDoe-qn7vp Money is a tool that can enable you to do more of what you want to do. It's up to you if you're miserable or happy. Money is just an aid to your goals. If you're a happy person and have good goals, more money will greatly enhance your quality of life. If you're pissing away your life, money will only make it worse. I am not sure how "young" these old people are. When I was visiting Bolivia I got in a fight with this 89 year old who said he was from this tribe and was able to beat him up relatively easy. Not only am I almost 30 years old, but my doctor said I have a weight problem since I am 6 feet 4 and weigh almost 300 pounds.
City people work harder than this people, after came from work, there is gyn time that take 2 hours of hard work, to keep health.
This is true! I work with the elderly and what I can see for doing this work for many years is that elderly who grew up during the 2nd WW are still living and the healthiest in our residencies because they are strong (they put their bodies under a lot of pressure when they were young) they mind their own business and have strong minds. they were growing up without processed foods and ate directly from the farms.

Imagine that concept. We are obsessed with the number of how old we are, which we think defines us and tells us how long we still have, they don’t bother with it.
Hey BBC World Service. I think there is a mistake in your closed captions. I think at 7:17 it should say 6,000, not 16,000.

Another possibility is that maybe this tribe is always having so clear oxygen and air, and also because of their daily hard work their lungs work much better than any other tribe. Which took my attention is that, it's not like in africa, weather is humid and the big leaf vegetation surrounding them can provide them with good air. And another thing which took my attention is that they have even slower aging than japanese people, wow that's amazing bc wasn't there a town in japan (ogimi) that average life span was around 100?
Thanks for your good ducumentary.

No gray hair! Wow!
Being small seems to be an advantage for longevity
El Sr dice que ya no camina casi solo dos dias. Yo tengo 34 y no me puedo levantar de la cama a veces,
It’s difficult to know how old these people really are though… it wasn’t until my great grandmother died and we found her birth certificate that we realised she was actually a different age to what she had always told us.
I think working hard will slow down aging because you will attract energy
Impresive!!!
They live longer because these People are contented of what they have. They connect with Nature, nature gives them fresh food, fresh Air, the greenery surrounds them. They dont think of material things and they are happy People.

How do they have black hair at advanced ages? That is more surprising to me than anything else, assuming that they don’t dye their hair.
I've known two elderly people with black hair so sometimes it is inherited.
My great grandmother (mother was a native, father was portuguese - they ran away to be together) died of old age without a single white hair.
Many indigenous populations in south america have black hair until they die. Descendants (like me) who have european heritage tend to have gray hair as they age.
@luizappicanco Yes, very true & from what I've seen, the same is true for most full blood Central & North American indigenous peoples.

Speaking both physically and mentally. Plus; lack of terrible, man made chemicals.
They are moving so much they use the carbohydrates they eat, their arteries are not calcified because they move so much. Movements along with nutrients helps the calcium get to the right places in the body. They don't get any cardiovascular disease because they move and eat well. Movement and the usage of the carbs they eat prevent them from getting diabetes.
Also they don't constantly snacking foods. They have to collect and prepare the food before they eat so they have a fasting window. Making the gutmicrobiom thrive and the gut rest and insulin restore.
Their mental health is at top because they move around, do meaningful things and have a beautiful community.
My dad lived to 91 and he looked younger than this man of 78 yrs old. Dad was also mentally sharp.
I think it's just that they don't have much sun protection. Health doesn't always mean looking young.
