      Hey, can this type of pastry be used for savoury pies, I use a hot water for my pork pies, but the one you use here looks so much easier to roll out to make pie bases and lids for my steak pies.
      Would it do the trick do you recon?

      @matross9794 Yes, of course, this recipe is very old from the 1940s, and it's fine for almost everything savoury, but pork pies are the main thing it was for when I was a little boy 👦 later we used it for everything 😀 laters Steve

      Thanks mate 😀 and I have to say that the best tasting Pasty I made so far, I think it's the lamb with mint on top of the filling it's like a lamb roast 😀 laters Steve

    These look fantastic. Was thinking of using lamb mince so there is no possibility of any tough/gristly bits. Would that work?

      I was going to use mince, but at the time I could only get diced lamb from Iceland, surprised me how nice it was for frozen 😀 so you can mince the same way 😀 enjoy 😉 laters Steve

    If I just want to use ground lamb and fresh mint and have no potatoes, is there anything I can add to the ground lamb that will help it taste good? Thank you so much!

    • @crazybaker1
      @crazybaker1  2 роки тому

      Yes it's in fact they are better from the freezer, I do this all the time in the bakery, so we can have them ready hot for the customers 😉 laters Steve 😀

    • @crazybaker1
      @crazybaker1  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you can mix any combination you like, only thing is if you want only butter or margarine it's got to be cold water apart from that most things work 😀 laters Steve

      @@ianmiller1879 I think you will find it a puff pastry, called rough puff, which is very similar to normal puff pastry, in a Cornish Pasty it depends on the shop and part of Cornwall you are in, coming soon I will be doing a Cornish pasty with this type of pastry it's most likely be after Easter now as my time is short laters Steve
