Great cover Man. A7X picking up brooks was such a ginormous W for them, guy is a great drummer and really helped bring that creative spark back to the band that had kinda been missing without Jimmy
Hey welcome back , I was waiting for you TOO MUCH :| I learned to play drum by your videos so first of all thank you so much and second please keep posting drum charts I need those so much . ;)
Can someone explain to me why this song is so good. I want to love it so bad but I just can’t get into it. I find it kinda stale and I feel it doesn’t go anywhere interesting or just anywhere at all. Am I missing something?
Holy shit this is so weird, this song came on the radio like 30 minutes ago and I thought I wonder if sodamlazy is gonna make a drum chart and I come on UA-cam and see this
Dude one glad your back kinda wondered where the hell you went but ok soilwork has a new album coming out soon and they released one song called arrival it would be awesome if you could cover that

Yo Sodam, I don't wanna be greedy here because you've already done more for me in terms of learning drums than anyone else on the planet, but is there any chance you could notate Ride Bells in a different way from regular Ride Hits in future charts? No worries if not, of course, amazing chart as always
Yo, amazing cover as always; I just noticed a couple small things, and was wondering if you could let me know: are the discrepancies between the chart and what you play a result of playing it differently from the studio drums (with it being a cover), or did you play it identically to the studio drums and the chart is slightly different? I'd assume the chart is the one you were able to make more accurate to the studio track, as it was done over time rather than live, on the spot, but just wanted to make sure. Once again, excellent cover; Brooks is an amazing drummer, and you captured it perfectly!
Thanks a lot man! Yeah you got it. The features in the charts are very limited though so they're only as accurate as I can make them. If the beats, fills, hits and accents are the "meat" and ghost notes, different cymbals or toms are the "flavor" I'd say that in both my charts and covers I aim to get all the meat right but play around with the flavoring.. :)
@@sodamlazy Awesome, thanks for letting me know! Ahhhh that makes a lot of sense, yeah it would have to be a pretty complex chart to capture everything individually, considering the sheer number of drums/cymbals used :p you do a crazy good job though, your charts and my ears are the only things I go off when learning Avenged songs :D
Do you have any tips for Hi-Hat clicks and keeping them consistent? Struggling to get that multi-foot goodness going. I'm guessing it's just the same as how I learnt with my hands, but... with my feet. Also kinda hard given I have a really messy electronic hi-hat pedal which doesn't actually control a physical hi-hat, just has a dodgy link somewhere which doesn't properly close the hi hat even when I stamp my foot on it with all my might. Anyone know how to fix this? Love you all
Thanks! I started practicing pedal hihats more a couple of years ago. Just play any songs you'd normally play without too much double pedal stuff and add fourth or eight note hihats. That's literally the only thing I've done! I once had a similar broken pedal and I sold it with the whole kit. They don't see it coming. Works every time. Haha!
That's crazy, man, thanks, I'll definitely try that! The main struggle for me is transitioning quickly between the Hi-Hat clicks and double bass, I don't know if I need to modify my setup or just practise that more but it takes me a good second to make the move from Hi-Hat pedal to Double Bass Pedal and Vice Versa. Dang, solid plan hahahah unfortunately with all the scuff marks on my kit from years of use, I don't think it'll sell for very much unless I suddenly become famous :P thanks for all the help!
hey @sodamlazy do a drum cover of Promethean - Le Supplice des Aloades? the song is really good, love your vids btw, been subbed for the past 5 years, love ya and great to have you back!
Mine aren't very audible here because of the poor snare sample but when used right it adds to the overall feel of the song. It's something you'll learn to understand if you listen to a lot of different tracks with ghost notes or practice them.
Sup. I'll try not to disappear for another 8 months again! Got all of my stuff in a new garage now.
glad to have you back dude!
sodamlazy aye good to see you, can you put that last trivium song up
Nice man bun my dude! Looking forward to seeing some more covers

Yeah, can't wait! But mine is probably black ops 2, but black ops 1 is close to that.
Can’t wait for black ops 4
My favorite game is black ops 3
I didn't really care for the 2nd and 3rd, but the battle royale mode in the new one might be interesting.
Glad to see your still around doing the good work you do

Can someone explain to me why this song is so good. I want to love it so bad but I just can’t get into it. I find it kinda stale and I feel it doesn’t go anywhere interesting or just anywhere at all. Am I missing something?
i agree its not the best from a7x but i mean cmon its not that bad either.
It's not bad, it's good, but not the best.
To me it gets stale because of how slow it is at the start, it has a good groove going though.
What? You just said it's so good though
Its boring as hell
I love the shit out of this song lol it's so experimental and different which always catches my attention
